The Rig Is Broken!!!!

I remember the rig in the good old days, when it was a nice spot for newbies to hang out. Sure, socieities would take it over from time to time, and there were always people that liked to try and form a line (like that ever worked 100%...), but was a fun place to socialize.
The new rig is less fun (IMHO) but, I'm betting that it still turns a decent profit into the lootpool, unless firefights are way less common now. I dont visit it much nowadays though, so I dunno.
Its probably just a bug, I doubt that most of the occurences this VU are planned *cough*re-introducing rubberbanding*cough*. I bet MA are tearng the code apart trying to fix other problems, and somehow screwed up the rig in the process. You would think that at sometime they would introduce more features than bugs when updateing EU. Makes me wonder what effect this will have on the oil market if they dont fix it soon though.
You mean like the old rig? .5-1.5 PED oil every minute or two.

There's something really messed up.
For some reason, nobody is finding any generic animal hides. TP chips stopped working in various areas where there were working fine the day before. I suspect the oil rig is just part of this.
The thing is, I can't see how any of these things could be related, so there must be a bunch of problems at MA. I think this is a really good time for me to take a PE vacation for a while.

I think it's 99% a bug, I see no reason why MA would shut down the rig. Especially without telling us. It's a nice income for MA there, and alot of people have fun too. Although I've still never been... (I tried over 20 times when I was a noob though... Wouldn't take it from my mate, that I was wasting my time. I was in pure OJs too. ) Saying that, I had fun, and I learnt that AOA arn't my friends

finally a useful feature, the rig doesn't lure any more newbies to death, finally 
to be honest, if there is something i really don't care about its the rig, if there would be the choice between running lag and rig problem solved, i would say
blow the rig up (big baddaboooooom)
of course, just the massive atrox spawn and pvp for ppl with too much cash brings more cash to MA than ppl who could run proberly, so, i guess the rig will be fixed very soon

I would suggest everyone stop depositing untill all of this gets fixed, even thou MindArk owns Entropia Univers we are the users and we do have power to say enough is enough people ! the only way that will get attention is supportcases and don't deposit untill they fix it.
well nomatter for most you cannot hunt anyways so wait with putting in more peds untill Entropia runs like it should.

Now if it stops working, it isn't exactly "a rig" since it does not supply anything... so you are just going to hang out around it for days until MA suddenly decides to drop out all the oil at once...

Oil Rig out of action...
To be honest, this is neither here nor there for me.
I consider my trip out to the oil rig (sorry Poly, for asking you to go through all that pain for me) to be a rather large waste of time for a true newbie.
Seriously - getting there is a pain in the ass. The nearest TP is MILES away. And you will visit it often, if like me you don't stand a chance of surviving 2 bites from an Atrox. And if both of those bites will hit immediately with zero chance of missing anyway.
10 PEDS still is a huge amount of money for me, but I would far rather sweat for 4 hours and feel like I am slowly and steadily increasing a number of skills as well as my bank account than suffer the frustration of having to try and hover around naked in an area where someone (or just the wildlife) can fart and kill me, waiting for a small chance that _I_ might be the lucky noob to reach the oil drop first.
What are my odds of even being alive and in the area when it drops, at the time, anyway? I considered MA's site statement that this was a good starting option for players a complete and utter lie when I found out that the place was patrolled by Atrox. I mean, let's be real - asking nicely and negotiating with uber-players with nasty weapons is at least an option. But I can't negotitate with an Atrox that aggros me from (comparatively) 2 miles off and comes running (at a faster rate than I can run) to eat me.
So... Good luck, and I hope your font of happiness is restored to you, but I actively discourage folks from even thinking about heading out that way. It's just a recipe for frustration until you've got really, really serious weapons and armour.

solution, well, simply send the newbie to a place, where he can cost other ppl money that deposit, and there rig is born
finally the not depositing newbie has a use for MA

but MA either saves server load, or get cash from PKer
but sarcastic, but the only reason that could explain why this message is still there, your chances are next to 0 to get oil, at least not anymore (i got 50 ped in my beginnig there too, but far less atrox overall and far less pker at that day)
