… and so it begins
Thanks Kay … you are a kind and venerable avatar indeed sir.
This post is a little late, about an hour. Sorry, forgive me please.
Deployment schedule delayed: Intentional
Upon the advice of a few individuals involved with the expedition whom I respect, I will be releasing the deployment schedule in game in real time. Sorry for the delay, but it should not matter to the success of the venture. Each unit will be given their location of operation when it is time to go.
Remember the RoE
Please people; remember the “Rules of Engagement” …
Miners; your soul purpose is to mine. In the event that your unit should encounter a rough, hard-hitting mob, your FAP’ing skills will be important here. Try to be fast with your work, yet at the same time maintain effectual blast patterns, consistent bomb/probe placement, and try to remember the difficulty level the hunters are facing when running from place to place.
Hunters; Globaling, HOF’ing, and generally killing mobs is secondary to your mission. Your primary objective is to protect the escortee (miner). Remember, increased operational efficiency is the rule of the day. It takes a long time for someone to effectively drop 100 bombs and 100 probes (about two to three hours), and statistics would indicate that you may run out of ammunition first. Shot only when necessary.
A few brief words here
I have had the chance to discuss, with a great many people, some of whom have been here in PE for a very long time, this Employment Expedition of ours. It would appear that this is perhaps one of the largest and most ambitious voyages of its kind (special emphasis on “of its kind”). I believe that we all (myself included) have a unique opportunity to be a part of something very special.
*gets chocked-up … can’t find the words*
I would like to say thank you to everyone involved. Through your active participation in this thread, and your role in the journey itself, you have helped to make this an event to remember for a long time to come, and I’m certain that we will be establishing friendships that will stand the test of time.
A very special thanks to DarkAngel, Ragna Rock, and ViagraFalls, without whose ideas and feedback none of this would be possible.
Not sure what else to say here. C’ya in game
Regards, respect, and uber-esteem,
ToolMan.
