Question: Why this game is Soooo Booring?

Been Back for 3-4 weeks now and boored again. Opened what 8k boxes i think and even 18k hoff dose not even excite me anymore. Everthing is kind a meh...

Yeah so question why this game is so daam booring? :D
Do like the ubers - get your macro on, and find a good movie to watch :D

I remember a time when;
When you got a got a mysterious signal, you had to actually go and find it. Fight the robot guards and click a button on a probe and get a global or maybe a beacon! Then find 4-8 of your friends to run it, almost always a mu profit IF you can find all the boxes in time!!
Or when hunting aurlies meant getting a few friends together and find a flight to cp to hunt those bad ass mobs in a team!
Or exploring and finding new and exciting hunting or mining spots and new tp’s
Or actually aiming at mobs and having to run up and loot them before the loot disappears without getting killed by other mobs.
Or being absolutely terrified by those giant pink ass kickers in dome 16.
Or clicking actual items that you can sell to other players and maybe get a unique BP drop to maybe craft a weapon or tool that no one has seen before or at least there are very few of.
Or meeting people who are actually playing and chatting with them.
Etc etc etc

It is whatever you make of it :)

Aye it can be super boring, but it doesn't have to be!

The week past was a pretty chill week for me in that we had nothing organised, not running or planning an event, not particularly planet hopping. no real plans. It went like so...

Sat - impromptu Hussk - trying not to be the first to die, -photoshoot with some brand new, top end gear (not me or mine!!) sorting/editing pic, running scheduled space flights.

Sun - Mech hunt on Arkadia, most awkward (for me!) but incredible gamesmanship in that no one touched each others mechs. I was the slowest, but even when there was nothing left to shoot, they would wait for me to be done, waiting for the next spawn. Space flights.

Mon - Aurli, super chill - nothing special to report, enjoyed the peace + space flights. Realising my storage is chaos, and finding nano cubes...

Tue - Patch day, frantically reading the notes, getting my head around the new stuff, bit of admin on discord/social sites. chill hunts. Space flights.

Wed - Space flights - Nags Head night, virtual pub! Chatting with entropia mates, having a laugh discussing all things game whilst doing whatever we fancy in game.

Thu- Remembering I should be doing twen robots. Messing with big bulks, deciding I love them, but RL getting in the way. Space flights.

Fri- Twen again! Eviscerator, started on smaller ones, spawn was doing my head in, went to bigger ones and couldn't get out of the agro, messed about with plates for a bit, deciding on what im missing from set up. Space flights.

Sat - Space flights, Monria research, everything stream wise broke, chaos ensued, + happy Monria event stream.

1 quiet week in entropia 🙃

Not everyone can have an army of alts farming several planets to keep busy like some in this thread.

If the game is boring, which is understandable, then sell out and move onto something that makes you happy. There's nothing more to it.

Seriously, after 20 years, hoe excited can you still possibly be?

If you have a solid answer to that, better become a marriage counselor 👍

Most game go through some very radical changes in such a long time. EU is no exception.

Our beloved slot Monte Carlo .. sorry i mean our beloved casino.. shit sorry wahts the word i\m looking for... the pyrami... no that is not the one.. our betting house.. nope, the gambling den we all attend to... no that doesnt sound quite right either...

The Gambling Establishment we all venture to so often has seen quite some extensive refurbishments happening through the years, and we are after all renovating again soon.

But they rarely give us new slots and tables.... fuck i almost had it...

We can Team up if you want , my gameplay is not boring@ all

Right about now i enjoy a ban because multiple Accounts reported me for "training in pvp"

Handling that Kind of stuff with the suppot is funn and keeps your blood preasure floating.

I pop in every so often to see how it's going. I used to come back for the community, but even that I see is slowly dwindling away. The game is boring, it's been boring since the very beginning. Mind you, there were a lot of really cool things to discover pre-CE update and they took some of what I considered the "magic" of PE away. As well, the community was so involved and amazing you would forget. It was a joy to be done a hunting run to go back to Twin Peaks just to have a chat with Zippo, Skalman, Sibuk etc... now I go back to see the same afk avatars spamming their undercut bs no one wants.

It seems the only things they added for many years are more ways to do things by yourself easier, which is fine, but I might as well play a single-player game.

I tried to speak about this the other day but was just harassed off the forums for apparently "not enough loot on my tracker to matter"... even though I've been here since 2001. Maybe I'll just stick to ingame. :)

Having only been here a short time, I can tell you the game certainly doesn't feel boring. Entropia itself, to a new person, is actually quite mind-blowing, coming from someone who is very active in the MMO community about the World where they craft War. The different planets feel both very different and large. EU itself feels very large. That's why I personally think it is so sad that space is not properly used or marketed. Space is the quickest way to enhance game play and attract new players.

Entropia has really cool and interesting avatars. But because of their lifelikeness, and because many people have played these avatars for so very long, they have almost merged, in many ways, with their avatars. The avatar and the person have become the same. So people get stuck in ruts in Entropia, just like they do in real life. Because they think that what they see, is all there is.

Maybe try a completely different play style. Do things you have never done before in EU. Shark hunting on NI from an Island Girl Surfboard (L) is insane fun. Jumping from a surfboard onto the back of a shark and stab it to death. Go pvp for oil barrels on Rock at the docks. When I go there to play, its always me and the same three goofs running around in our colonist jumpsuits trying to get the little barrels. Go pvp in space...you will upset people. But you will shoot your first ship...and its over...you're hooked...

EU is not boring. But you have to break away from your usual, or anything becomes boring.

DISCLAIMER: This post only makes sense if you are here for entertainment purposes or you are playing to earn but still are playing. If you are here to earn a living, I can't relate to that so I got nothing on that part..

in a sandbox game you have to decide your own goals

yes i've taken a break, more than once

yes, the reality of EU is that it is a bit weak on actual "game".

my enjoyment i think i can break down into these things:

  • avatar advancement
    • skills/professions
    • long term gear upgrades
  • game activity milestones
    • now i'm strong enough to do X
    • now i have completed Y and now have access to Z
  • Maximizing output from a given input
    • this is effectively a metagame within the game
  • social (don't underestimate the power of this)
    • hanging out with socmates
    • finding new friends
  • exploration and discovery

that said, some of those require me to place some value on stuff that the game doesn't really force you to if you don't want to. and good social experience can turn a bad game into a decent one, or a decent one into a great one....

Because there hasn't been a meaningful update since cryengine?
Core gameplay barely changed at all considering PE/EU has been around two decades...
Hoping UE5 will make things feel new again.

Every game gets boring to an extent due to familiarity. I've been having a lot of fun lately checking out the planet partner updates. I haven't been the Cyrene in a very long time so I am pleasantly surprised at what I have found plus its boosted some codex for me along the way. The appeal of any open ended game like EU is the short term and long term goals I make for myself. It will be interesting to see what happens when UE5 is implemented and I am curious how it will affect the core mechanics. TWEN is motivating even if chances are slim to loot a useful item its still fun to look for them. PE/EU has always been what you make of it.

I heard this was an Entropia pro gamer room, you can not be bored with that :
