That's a nice idea, once I am ingame again I will give it a try and post some results. :)

The other thing that'd interest me is a list of when sib starts and ends for making textures, I know there is a shiny excel sheet out somewhere, but that only lists sib for applying textures.

nice Suu!

here are some recent results of myself.

fine silk 381 from 170 textiles
polished crome 30 from 40 scraps
hammered metal 129 from 213 scraps
brukite 44 from 100

Don't you need to take BP QR into consideration as well? Granted at lvl 17 texture maker, basic leather QR 1 or 100 is almost no difference, but at lvl 7, it's another matter.

Hmmm yes, ofc QR and Texture Maker Level influence the return as well, but that will get to complicated to reflect it all in the list, so an average have to do, so people just get an idea how much materials they have to get.

Of course we are not talking about crafting with a red CoS bar, either because you have not reached the level for the BP or because you craft on full condition. The CoS bar should be up high and intense green for these stats.

In my experience when I have a decent CoS, i.e. green bar, my item return is 40-50% of the total TT of ingredients spent.

With max CoS 50% seems reasonably consistent, though I've not measured this. I'm just basing it on informal observations.

You can add me to the list as a Level 9 texure crafter - still noob but working on it :)

Yes but the TT of the return is split to residue/remants and the textures, I want to know how many textures you get :D

adding you now

No, I'm only talking about the textures.

If I do 1k clicks on Generic Leather (i.e. 70 PED TT value of ingredients), I will get about 35 PED TT value worth of textures (er, what's that, 700 textures?)

That's with a 100 QR BP and enough skill to max it.

The residue is extra and the amount varies, while the amount of texture remains fairly consistent. If you work out the calculations on the data posted earlier in the thread I think you'll find it works out that way.

EDIT: e.g. looking at your Fine Silk example above - 170 clicks is 205.7 TT of ingredients, and 381 textures is 99.06 TT, so a little under 50% in that case. I'm thinking your CoS bar on Fine Silk is high but not quite maxed because you don't have a 100 QR BP, right? At that return I would guess you have about 40-50 QR on that BP.

did some calculation:

Name CalculatedResult/CraftingResult
Brukite 50 / 44
Fine Silk 231 / 224
Hammered Metal 70 / 60
Polished Chrome 60 / 66

Seems right, so all i have to do now is find all ingredients values and make a list :silly2:

:yay:list is ready in first post

texture | tt | main material | tt | # textures from 100 materials | # ingridients needed for 200 textures

hmmmm did i get that right?
i need only 13 wool cloth to make 200 denim textures??
that would be cool ^^
because as far as i got it, 200denim texture allready has a good chance to make me denim looking clothes right?

cool :) good luck with this

Yes, Denim Texture is very low TT, only 2 pec each, so each success gives a lot of textures (I don't remember off-hand how many but it should be about 60-70 in general).

But it's not an exact science of course. If you're unlucky you might only get one success from 13 clicks, or you might get 6 :)

Not crafting much atm but here are some results. All crafted in default setting, on full quantity.

100 materials used each time

Midastree: 66 textures
Firn: 6 Textures
Large striped cotton fabric: 1721
Generic Leather: 38

yes thats right, denim is a very low level texture with low tt so you get al ot of them per sucess.

most of the cloth textures are quite easy to make

That is a fantastic list thanks a lot for taking the time to share it.

I'm just starting out in texture crafting but you can put me on the list, that is if you don't mind having a level 2 texture crafter on there ;)

where are the other texture crafters out there?

I know some, but would you like to be in the list guys?

Material designer: lvl 6.5
Material manufacturer: lvl 15.3

Level 11 here, just not doing any textures at the moment, getting my mining up a bit :D
But from experience I can tell you, I get around 1500 large striped cotton fabrics out of 100 wool cloth (QR100 BP). 1200 on a bad run, 1700 on a good run.

ty Yquem and WoenK, both added to the list.

Woenk, 1500 that is exactly what the calculation gives, so another proove it is correct. ty for the input.

Thank you for posting this information LeeLoo. Please add me to the list; currently at level 13 material manufacturer.

currently stuck at lvl 19 material manu

dasouth Genious dasouth

I am at lvl 7 of Material Manufacturer (Valerie Val Ames).
I would've lost count of tens of thousands of clicks  on Generic Leather Texture if I didn't record them...
I'm still clicking Generic Leather and am kind of hesitant to move to any other BP , but I will have to I recon...

I keep the slider all the way to Condition, that's what I was told to do in order to get more impact on raising my skill... is that true? :scratch2:

Thanks a bunch,

Val

Hms... belive there has been one more of these threads out on the fourms?

But i guess yours is more up to date?

I am not sure if there is any list like this, if so I guess it is out of date indeed :D

Yes I think clicking on condition give a bit more skills than Quantity. But at some stages you should move up to some higher level BPs to skill faster.

Because your skill points get more value you have to use more value per click for skill gains.

Because I also was not sure if clicking on condition gives more skills, I did a test a while ago:
https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/crafting/128264-little-texture-crafting-experiment.html

It does not.
I think skill gain ins solely calculated on costs per click, so generic leathers are most definately not a good choice for skilling, but it is a highly needed texture for the texturizers for skilling.
At level 7 one should move on to evenweave or soft leather, those are still quite "cheap" to make and at your level you will allready have quite a good CoS on them.

nice test.

in your test it shows quite nicely that the skill gain is opposite to returns. the run with worst returns got you most skills. (the 75%)

I experience that in hunting as well, if loot is really bad skill gains are quite ok.

No thats not true, if you have a higher level in applying textures you also have to use higher level (eg. higher tt value) textures to have a decent skill gain. I should use fine leather textures meanwhile, large striped cotton or generic leather is useless

same as everywhere: spend more to get more skills

I think the skill gain is within the "mood margin" :D
Even though the 75% looks to be the worst TT wise, it was surely the best setting to get most textures (which for me as crafter is what counts most if I want to sell the product :D )

Level 8 Material Manufacturer :yay: - still did it on Generic Leather :D

Please make the name to be just Val Ames instead of Valerie Val Ames. MA is not too bright as far as the names go, if you are fixing to place something between the first and last names, you should ask a "middle name" and not a "nick name", and then you never stick your nickname in between the first and last names, but MA did it, so go figure...

So I have to think on moving to some other BPs, but how do you afford that? Counting two HOFs on Generic Leather (252 & 646), after turning around little over 10K PED, I'm still at 1K PED of loss in total. And selling textures on auction looks mostly pointless, they are selling like 101% or 102% wich won't even cover the loss I'm sustaining :scratch2: Metal Residue cost more than that...

Maybe there are people who want certain textures made, but how do you connect with them again? Maybe I need to cook up a website for it or something? Too many questions

gz Val.

90% return sounds pretty good. you forget that the skills have a value too, if you count them in you are maybe even breaking even! Well done!

You should really try to get materials very cheap (for tt from soc mates maybe) to keep costs at a minimum.

for selling textures find a Material Designer who is skilling with them, there are just a few so no need for a website really :painter: you might want to check the https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/clothing/133256-colorer-list.html
