Planet Calypso - Sneak Peek Activities Movie

Hello crew!

I have fought myself through hordes of Argonauts, oceans of Rippersnappers, and an army of robots in order to bring this footage to you, the energetic Entropia community! It is a sneak peek of various recognizable activities within Entropia, using the CryEngine2! It is still very much a work-in-progress behind-the-scene kinda thing. Not reflecting the final release of Planet Calypso powered by CE2. But it is something I feel we can show you guys.

The file is a .mov-file of about 95Mb and is available here: ftp://ftp4.entropiauniverse.com/movies/PlanetCalypso-SneakPeak_WIP_20090220.mov

PLEASE Please please .. don´t make that shaking 3rd Person camera "standart" in CryTek Version! As option ok.... but it will not be good when making InGame films! It adds excitement to the sceens where it might not be needed...

This video made me cry...it's just SO beautifull.

But...Marco, one question:

When...?
 
In CryENGINE mining seems to involve blasting the ground with plasma beams ^^

That new power glove looks awesome.. in fact, all of it looks utterly awesome :p
 
For once i have to say something possitive ;) DAM nice :wtg: Do you dare an estimated release of this ? I would LOVE to see this in game soon.

Yes.. i did wonder myself.. and that the road looks like "US" to me.. :laugh:

overall a nice preview.. but somehow it looks like some crytek action on Bluescreen added to EU-Gamebryo scenes :silly2:

Whatever... i really think you seem to do a great job a Planet Calypso Headquaters :wtg:

I'll be damned. There really is a test server running CE2. Was hoping to see some mobs, but still awesome to see some actual gameplay.

never saw Digital Angels thread about an invisible mob? That's what they are going for 100%... alot easier to program.. especially with CE2 :D

Interesting stuff :)

I hope the focus effect is just a video effect though, having the world go in and out of focus in 3rd person would drive people nuts.

Buildings looked nice, Water surface seemed a little plain though?

Cool effects for ore mining too :)
