MindArk and insider trading

I'm in a bit of a quandry over this, I see Mindark's position (if that is what they are basing it on) over stored items not being used and releasing them so that more are in circulation. Perhaps they thought that would make players happy? I also questioned myself on would I rather more Fap50's appear on RT or new faps with identical stats (but a different name) be discovered. I realised I didnt know which I'd prefer to happen. I suppose it depends on whether you own a Fap50.

I think it comes down to the drought of unlimited items (with the exception of 2009's SGA event) that causes this problem combined with the extreme time window to acquire very rare items (one of which was only previously available from crafting)

I dunno, I'm just you're average player, making assumptions and not knowing all the facts. :)

this is all good... and i totally understand... but this thread is about legal charges... and insider trading... and from a real investors standpoint... this thread is silly...

i am not saying people dont deserve to be mad or have the right to be mad... go ahead be mad as hell... but to talk some shit about insider trading... its laughable...

So a planet partner creates an avatar, then possibly ...using inside information, gets a hole bunch of globals on uber rare and expensive equipment.

I wouldn't call that silly brother.

Maybe insider trading is an incorrect term, but it sure seems like something illegal occurred :dunno:

This thing really is - is there any proof of this? There is one person claiming that ND had the scanner markup set to 0 when he looked at this five minutes after he heard about drops. And there are people saying whatever about DaManager, and again, its not only very unclear he is even remotely connected to ND (how many websites saying "endorsed by RT" do you want me to set up before seeing the point?), never mind had any advance information.

These both amount to a grand total of nothing. Its ridiculous to even bring these up as some kind of evidence of insider trading or some other kind of malediction. Evidence it is not.

It is also IMHO stupid of ND to not already have but an announcement about this, including clarifying when and how he set the scanner markup in his bank to 0. Such an announcement would be a sensible thing to do no matter in how low regard he hold all of us who post here on this forum.

Are you a lawyer? Heck I'd I even accept that statement if you where a serious investor. Since you are neither of these then you are just one of many "forum lawyers". Just because you do not know how something works does not mean it is illegal. FYI, MA has been investigated for the claim that it is not gambling, and came out squeaky clean :)

I think people should stop nitpicking and hairsplitting on CHOPPER's choice of words and actually try and understand what he's referring to. Regardless of the legal definition of what "insider trading" is, we all know what he is talking about, and so would any person with legal knowledge, after all it is their job to translate what the uneducated in law claim into legally acceptable statements.

For example, in my country there is a legal difference between "stealing" and "robbing", "!!!!" and "sexual abuse", but in day-to-day speech it is more commonplace to use the terms "stealing" and "!!!!" when more often than not they are not legally accurate. That doesn't mean that if you go to the police or a lawyer and explain your case with those terms that they will dismiss you because it's legally innaccurate, after all it is part of their duty to make it legally adequate.

That being said, I think we should now return to the merit of whether what has happened in the past few days should be considered illegal, and how to act about it, rather than nitpick about a minor terminology fallacy.



Edit: Weird filter in the forum. I suppose it is ok in this case to say the "!!!!" is supposed to be "ra.pe".

Uhh.. and where did he do that? Certainly not here on PCF, because he has so few posts here (including selling threads) that it is rather easy to read through all of these and see that he did not say so.

WELL SAID! + REP!!!!

Too many people call people this and that i.e. Chopper is a forum lawyer etc, those exact people pretty much the same as what they are accusing Chopper of. You say his post is silly and his definitions are wrong blah blah blah, but you ALL failed to see the point and this is exactly what Huskie beat me to saying!

Understand what he is saying, your right he is not a lawyer and therefor and exactly why he has probably used the wrong words to explain his point BUT his point is still VERY VALID, the system has been abused and without proof looking at Digital Manager Abduction's past globals he should not be skilled enough to hunt such mobs which leads us to only 1 conclusion he MUST have had inside info about the scanners. If i started an account 1 month ago and then went to hunt dasps and got a 200k ATH which held the deed to a new LA and you knew my mom worked at MA what would you say to that????

Damanager is also known as Hanz Starhopper Miner you may know from trading Valkirie's in twin when they first got looted and his mass auction of Pitbull's at PA with SB of 1 peds, Chopper and I know his conection as Starhopper used to be in our SOC untill we came accross some unplesent accusations and dealings he had with people and he decided to leave us when confronted. During his time he told us he was involved with a company called Digital Abduction a company set up to bring music into virtuality and this planet i.e. RT was perfect stage he had worked with many artists and was in connection with ND.

So his connection to ND is fact as far as we are concerned as he told us himself on our teamspeak channel!

I don't recall DAMgr stating he was a PP, but his site says that he is ROCKtropia-endorsed ... that's quite different, but I do agree that with all of the information that has been presented thus far, he definitely knew something ... especially saying in a post that he will be explaining it all.

His company own atleast 1 LA on RT that i know of wether he is a planet partner i don't know this for true but he is conected to ND on more than just technical terms.

Dont think i'm breaking rules by naming him here as what i'm saying is facts that came from his mouth and can be backed up by atleast 4-5 more people from my soc :)

Thank you ... so my question then becomes ... did this Hanz Stahopper Miner then create a secondary avatar? I ask, because last year I was approached by Digital Abduction as an avatar on RT in City of Dreams and he told me himself what his plans were, which is basically what you state he told you guys.

This is becoming confusing to me ... and it raises other questions given what he has posted at this forum. Is he an investor in RT, or now on staff at NDS, and if he is this other person you say he is, then is he playing both avatars?

Just came to my attension now that Hanz Starhopper Miner is no longer working with DA so it is plain to see this account is being used by multiple people at DA (dunno if this break EULA never read the whole thing).

To answer your questions:

He was able to have access to both avatars yes!
Dunno if he's on NDS staff or is still JUST and investor like ND STILL IS in Calypso.

But to reinforce Hanz Starhopper Miner is no longer involved with this company DA.

Did you read my posts???? We have yet to prove he IS a partner if he is, but its an investor and regardless stop nit picking at small things and look at the BIG picture, the guy as MANY agree MUST have had inside info and thats the point we should be addressing stop picking on the way people word things and look at the people that started this MA, NDS & DA.

He has invested in RT as they (Digital Abduction) have an LA at least (Digital Abduction Outpost). With the money he obtained, maybe in an unsportsmanlike way, he buys newbies mining equipment and all to mine on his land. He also pays 10 ped per K for their sweats.

There is those big sharks in his waters with insane amounts of HP. I noticed him transporting people there and handing healing kits to some people so the money is at least partially used to obtain profits from that LA, also giving RT and MA a cut I suppose. That's what I noticed on RT while being there.
