Vtol terrain abuse and 5* to support

OK this is not planet related I saw some people smashing there VTOL's into TP's, Mountains and I did the same myself and some guy threatened to report me so I thought FU and sent a ticket myself to prove what I am doing is ok.

Is this an exploit or are we allowed to do this as it is only using the terrain.

I did this by accident the 1st and then again for the video. Can you confirm if it is an exploit or not.

Thank you for your inquiry. Crashing a vehicle intentionally and repeatedly in order to repair it to get skills is considered an exploit since this is not an intended use of the vehicles.

Can I expect any action to be taken on my account as I did use this method I did not realise it was an exploit and I will accept any punishment you will hand down. Its just the damage shown is so easy to achieve by accident.

But please remember that using exploits to obtain economic advantages is a behavior which is certainly in violation of the Terms of Use. If you do not report such exploits or bugs and if you or any other participant is found taken advantage of this situations, you run the risk of getting your account locked.

So dont go in pvp with any weichle.
Someone can shoot and damage weichle - then you need to repair and get skills wich is deffined as an exploit where you obtain economic advantage.

So it's an exploit to give to buy skills directly from MA? Oops. I know at least one person, who if banned for 1 hour per offence, is going to be gone for a few years

Waaaaait... would it not be impossible to punish anyone for this? They would have to prove that the person did it intentionally, could just be a REALLY bad driver

this is true Dan, BUT there will be TT decay on the vehicle as well + decay at the damaging weapon, additional income for MA/SES/RT and Michael Jacksons dad

Or drunk, the one place where drinking and driving gets you out of trouble

IRL you are able to assemble and disassemble things to gain skills and knowledge about how things work, you don't have to break stuff to do that. I don't see how this should be any different for EU.

1. you pay for your vehicle
2. you pay for gas
3. you compromise the structural integrity by doing what's available to everyone
4. you pay for repairs

not sure they will do anything about this, there have been thousands of people doing this and healing before today.

i think in the long run would cost MA more in time to look for this type of behavior.

but the all and powerfull MA has spoken, so its now officially an exploit......

These support tickets were related to this video:

so it's another issue where support is telling us two different messages... On one hand they are saying don't worry about it, and on the other they are saying it's an exploit... WTH? I suspect if this did not cause decay all vehicles would be taken offline for multiple months like the booths have been so they can fix it later and clarify ... but that won't happen since they are collecting decay on the vehicles...

and when this was posted in the nbk forum, there were quite a few objecting to it... Someone in the soc. claimed they got a support ticket that claimed that doing just this sort of thing was ok with them, but I didn't get that support ticket so don't know the details of exactly what it said. Left hand does not appear to know what the right hand is saying in Support, and it's only going to get worse as more planets go live.

Well, the crafters of the repair tools are going to be very sad about this news. It will really hurt their business, and the business of the miner/hunters of the materials used to craft this tools.

All things considered, this desicion will cause more harm than benefit for MA and the player base. Less decay for MA, less income for crafters, hunters and miners.

he he I never needed to do anything like that anyway. I get my repairing skills very simple: just fly arround with my VTOL while mining and get stuck in the top of trees... often the SI flys down like mad....

I think that deliberately and repeatedly breaking a vehicle to get skills from repairing it screws with their ideal of skill progression. Too much skill getting into the system fast is from what I remember something they don't like.

Just trying to think of the big picture, not just the bits with decay and skill gains.

I'm going to take a guess that support personal was mistaken. I'm going to make a video and send a support case and see if I get a different answer.

So, it's against the EULA to wear out your vehicle too fast and then pay for repairs?

I have got to finish chipping out before I accidentally use too much ammo or something.

I would like to know if the Support was able to see the video that the OP posted. When I try to view it the youtube site says it is a private video.

So support couldn't see the video and just said it was an exploit to cover their butt incase it was something bad.

All these bugs pisses me off.... If you drive a pitbull, or a vtol and accidently hit something so that it decay, and you later on repair it they call it an exploit according to my support case...

Get a fucking grip of your graphic engine, get a decent collision detection you "!%"#%"# sobs....

So if this is correct why not just remove vehicle damage from anything except mobs and PVP? Also what about fall damage is it an exploit to jump off a cliff and heal yourself, walk back up and do it again? Is that not an intended use of the avatar health system? If it is considered an exploit why hasn't it been patched, it isn't enough to label it an exploit and then sit around banning people, that sort of behavior only hurts the game.

I asked a question whether SCANNING a vehicle is considered an exploit, as it gave "human scanning" skills.
The answer from support was surprising but ... considered as an exploit and that they are working on a solution ?!

It has been like that SINCE THEY INTRODUCED THE FIRST VALKYRIE, HOW THE HELL CAN IT TAKE A YEAR for them to fix this "exploit"?

People can hate me for saying this, but if someone seriously uses their brain they would know that breaking your vehicle over and over to level up certain skills isn't what the vehicles were designed for.

It's kinda funny a person asked me if I thought this was an exploit 2 weeks ago and I said yes, but I told the person if they really wanted to know go contact support. I don't know if he ever did. Support telling the OP that this is an exploit is a shock why? BPC should cost a few hundred peds to get right? or other skills. Game should be easy? Go play wow if you want that.

It is MA fault for having shit code in game but no excuse to exploit either. And yes I know exploit have happened in the past blah blah, exploits happen now, and will happen in the future due to shitty coding on MA (SDS,NI,ROCK, ETC), however doesn't mean everyone should just exploit the system and think its fine. To me it isn't.

Starting to feel like using the vehicles at all is an exploit. Ridicules MA! Dont implement SI dmg when crashing and then call it an exploit. What if i like driving in a manner that cousing SI to decay? Or we should all just stay on the 2 (or whatever) roads there are? And wth making a vehicle scannble and then call it an exploit? VUs didnt come in last VU. If they are exploitble in this many way, pull them out of the game and fix em. I will be using my TP-chip from now on. Or is that an exploit too? Retarded things like this really puts me off from loggin ingame! Dont want to risk my acc in some made up exploit, that really is a feature MA themself implemented.

The problem might be to differ between someone driving around for fun and get stuck in obstacles ( also by crappy coding when stuck between two small rocks means destroying your pitbull from 100% to 0 in seconds ) and repairing your car - and the ppl who drive against walls repeatedly and stand beside their vehicles to repair them instantly just for the skillgain and to sell them in auc in order to profit with it and crashing market for crafting skills.

Simply ask yourself why one of it might be considered an exploit why the other thing is using the system by design ( though a crappy design, but well )

To all crying people here: please, take a ride around Twin Peaks, and look for "driving examples" of Pitbulls - especially in the flora. Or go near argos mission broker - there too some "crash tests" going 24/7

If you using your vehicle as intended - nobody will take actions against you.

Has been added to the list (the list that MA should make): Lets ban all the Exploiters

They should just make vehicle decays like all other (L) items. Just eat the TT value. Too many drunk drivers on the road.....
