Help: PLEASE HELP! almost 24 hours with..."Your avatar is already logged on" when I try to log in

I only started playing the game 2 days ago, and less than 1 day into playing, i get kicked from the server and when i try to log in i get the message "Your avatar is already logged on", I was getting some help from a VERY nice gentleman who was flying me in his spaceship to a sweating camp (he had just helped me get the twin peaks teleport) when i crashed, i have no idea where i'll start back up at now lol.

I submitted a support ticket about 15 minutes after getting the error message, but no one is responding to the ticket, i even submitted more information about 6 hours later, how often does this happen? and is there any way to get things back in line? it's now been nearly 24 hours since i started getting this error. what causes this?

I appreciate anyone's input, it's not been a good experience so far for a player who's played the game for less than a day lol, i'd think they'd have faster support.

it's a technical issue that happens more often than we wished for =)

fear not, MA will solve it for you, but do not trust the hope it'll be done in 10 hours...

so normally it's one day playing till you get the bug, then 2 days down while waiting for them to fix you, then another day of playing? (or how often would you say this happens?
 
I think I had it happen once in 2007, when a server crashed unexpectedly.

Server crashes do happen (and they've been happening a lot more often in the past few weeks than we'd like), but to be bugged like that really doesn't happen all that often.

Sorry this was in your first day or so of play here.
 
iv been playing on and off from 2004, never happend to me.

i think u had bad luck :/
 
Never had this problem before either. Always when server crashed and was unavailable I could change servers and end up on some totally different place.

Tbh when this would happen to me in MMO I've been playing for 2 days I would delete that sh*t and never come back. Good Luck :)
 
oh wow, i didn't know there was more than one server....how do you change servers? i only see an option to put in my username and password.
 
patience since day 1 of 2013 I been playing log in log off :ahh:

There is only one logon, but there are several servers serving different locations.
If your avatar was on a crashed server and got in error, there is nothing you can do but wait for support.

Playing for 7 years now, never happened to me before. I hope it gets solved quickly for you.
 
The game is all one universe, but the whole map isn't located on a single server :) You normally move from one to another almost seamlessly, though you can see the transition if you look.

Sometimes if the server you are located on should crash, when you try to log in, you will be offered the choice of being placed on a different server.

However in your case, the game thinks you are already ingame, so it won't offer you this option.
 
since i was in this guy's spaceship, do you think he's having the same problems as i am?
 
going on 36 hours now :(, i read on some other forums they reply within 2 days, what are their hours of operation? (w0ondering if i can expect to be playing again within 12 hours or just give up)
 
I've heard some waiting even over 50h... =(

hopefully there will be option to "do it yourself" in the future (through support site for instance) instead of tens of hours boredom =)

Happened to me too once... For like 6 years ago.

Bad luck to have it happen on your first day. :eyecrazy:

MA is in Sweden. Not sure if they 'off-shored' their support though.

Maybe add another comment in your support case, with something about you being unable to deposit because you can't login. Then they'll fix it faster.

what's gonna happen when i do finally get to log in? (since i was inside this guys spaceship) will i log in and fall to my death?, also, i have NO idea where i am since i'm new and he was taking me to teleporters lol....my account is gonna be totally screwed isn't it.
 
A) If you were in a quad, you'll revive at the nearest space station. If that happens, post here and some passing traveler will probably come and pick you up :)

B) If you were in a privateer or mothership, you'll revive inside that ship. In which case, see if you're docked at a spacestation, and use the teleport panel on the ship to move over to the space station. If you can't afford to use the spacestation teleport to then go down to the planet, see A) above :)

(This is assuming you're in space ofc)

You'll find many (possibly even most) experienced players are friendly and quite willing to help out new players who get stuck in odd situations. There's even a soc dedicated to doing that: Calypso Rescue Team.

if you are planet side, you will spawn at the nearest revive terminal, if you end up in a location you can not walk out of because of monsters, a post to this forum for help and someone will help you.
 
Was just scanning the forum and read through your thread. This is an old bug, pops up from time to time, over the years myself and many others have had it and it is very frustrating. Nothing guaranteed of course, until support gets to you, but what we used to do when in that state is ask others to look for our avatar, and try to interact with it (when you get that error for so long the avatar is usually ingame as some sort of ghost at the last location you were at before the crash, others can see you and wonder why you are being so anti social if anyone speaks and you don't respond for ages). Anyway, getting friends and others to 'bother' the ghost avatar a bit, attempt to start a private chat message, request a trade etc. Of course you won't be there so you won't respond, but often over the years those types of interactions with a ghost avatar has helped them to finally be bumped 'offline', as the server finally recognizes it as a non responsive ghost.

From your op it sounds like you are on Calypso, not in space at all, as you said you were being flown to a sweat camp and had just collected Twin Peaks tp. My suggestion is to share your avatars name with us and ask if others see 'you' to do the above, it can't hurt anything and might just work. Best of luck to you.

took 2-3 days to fix that for me!
 
This just happened to me... going on 24hrs stuck...

Support needs a telephone line Or at the very least an online chat to serve for emergencies like this. It's completely unacceptable that a business this size would not offer it's clients better support than Email.

Wasn't there a phone for the support? I might be wrong (I was once), but I think there was a number...

I remember it happened in vu8-9 and support were doing exactly the same thing, in the end I think they managed to get a huge number of players to go to that server and crashed it :laugh:
 
I found a fix for your avatar being stuck in game...

Log into Virtual Tycoon... Log Out.

You can then log back into EU normally, no thanks to support or MA on that find. :)

If you still can't login, you can post a support ticket on the official EU website. Worked for me with the same problem. You will get reply's from the support in the e-mail connected to the account.
