I'm starting to think of my life after sweating.... (6k more of it to go it seems, but it seems that it might not take me as long to get this amount as it took to get the first 2k) so.....
how easy is it to get oil from that oil rig on the SE side of the map?. what are the problems in getting there?. how is the oil rig protected?. would it be easier to get oil out if it was a team of people?
 
Well, for starters, the oil rig is right in the middle of a PVP area...

Not easy.
what are the problems in getting there?. Mostly Troxes and pk:ers

would it be easier to get oil out if it was a team of people?Certanly... Hmm or making friends, and it will help you stay alive longer.

Thing is this: it's pvp, wich means you can get killed by other players.
And beside that, there are big Atroxes and they like to eat newbies for breakfast.
But be there alot and be nice and polite. That way you will make friends and increase your chance of getting some oil.

pvp is where players can kill eachother

And pk:er that I meantioned is ppl that like to kill other ppl

after sweating life, hmm, skilling and keep uber hoffing at all times :)
easiest way to oil rig is east of twin peaks, kill yourself when you are half way to the southest outpost near the pvp 2, go north west-east to the middle of rig, and beware for the pkers and the armaxes and troxes. its just struggle with the nymp south way to the oil rig, you will just die and went to the north outpost again, kinda frustrating.

Yes, and please don't expect to get there any oil (but an lot of fun though :laugh: )
It is NOT an regular income possibility after sweating.
 
The rig can be a pain to get to, lots of relatively strong mobs that will just eat younger players (like me). Once there you have to worry about other players because it is in the PvP area, although the last time I went everyone was just sitting around chatting rarther than wasting ammo on each other.

At that time people were using scripts to grab the oil very quickly so there was no point in an honest player like me being there as all the oil was collected before I even saw it. However, MA has implimented some changes which, apparently, make it harder for the scripts but I'm not sure how much those have changed things.

My suggestion, go out there and have a look for yourself, I learnt alot about avoiding mobs and aggro ranges etc by making that long run from twin plus once there you can decide if it is worth ever doing it again.

As for going in a group, well I don't really see how it would help and if alot of OJs turn up a stronger player may just be tempted to go for a quick and easy Pk global, just mho.
 
If another player kills me in one of these areas, does he get all my possessions?. (ok, lots of sweat only at the moment, but it took me millions of hours to get it!!!)

the only lootable pvp is pvp 3, not the oil rig (pvp2)SE, and you must pay 5ped to be robbed also :D

That would happen only in PvP3, which is red-cyrcled area. PvP1 and 2 (yellow areas on your map) you can be only killed, no looted
 
As the others have said it is possible but not easy or likely that you will get oil from the rig. The only people that can get oil on a reguler basice(sp) is to have big guns, heavy armor, high skills, and just close the rig. Unfortunatly for the people that close the rig the cost of ammo and decay from fighting the Atrox and people that are wanting to take the rig from them eats most if not all the proffit.

I go to the rig from time to time for the fun and exitement of picking my way through the area without useing armor or weapons and trying to get an oil spawn. The oil spawns every 20-30 minutes and will appear as a barel on the ground containing 500-1500 units of oil.

I should warn you that since they increased the Atrox spawns alot of the nice players that frequented the rig and cleared out the Trox without closeing the rig have stoped going. If you find there are very few trox on the path you will probably be killed on sight by the people at the rig.

I mainly like going there just to give asses like the Dark Knight member Jak and other morons a hard time, IE making them waste their ammo while hurling witty comments at them. And BTW, it's not that hard to get oil from there, very few people show up there, particularly during late hours in America at least, from my experience. I think some of the more experienced folks around here just dont like the idea of a newb getting free oil when they went and blew their cash on the game. I know, it's their own choice, but sometimes these spending guys can just be downright baffling in their hatred of non spenders like myself...

Jak isn't to bad Hulk on the other hand won't even let you stand on the bunkers.

I know what you mean about the big spenders poor treatment of nondepositers. They have the mistaken oppinion that nondepositers are just here to make easy money and withdraw without depositing anything. If they started a new account and tried to play without depositing their attitude would change quickly after seeing how much work it is to play for nothing.
 
usually when I am at the rig, it is:
1. Closed by one or two ubers. They shoot anyone on sight.
2. Same as above, only they kill you if you get too close to the rig. If you stay on the 4 hills outside, you are fine.
3. Closed by Atrox, until ubers show up, kill atrox and close the rig.
4. Not closed by anyone, 6 people around rig. This is probably the best situation to get oil.
5. I have good experience with some people, I wont tell you the names because I am not sure they would want it though. As long as everyone who grabs oil splits it with the others, it is fine. When someone doesnt split however, they either bring an atrox in to save ammo or close the rig.
Thats what I think of the rig, although most of the time, I am there to hunt molisks or armax, sometimes to kill noobs for fun (yea I know I am evil, but its pvp :D).

If you at all can get to the oilrig, your lucky to stay alive for 5 seconds more. Those biiiig Atroxes eat not only newbies, but more experienced players too :wise:

So after MA added that massive atrox spawn there, it's absolutely NOT a newbie place for "free" oil

But hey, at least we can make sure oil whores like the Dark Knights end up having to spend more then what they could ever hope to make by drowning them in hordes of newbies. If those bastards wanna play that way, we can just show them that karma always comes back to bite ya in the ass. I think I'm going to start leading newbie expeditions to get more people over there, so that they have to use more ammo to fight off the newbies. I don't care if NO one gets the oil, as long as #%$^ers like hulk and jak get screwed. And BTW, the Atrox's are no threat whatsoever, they are so sparsely scattered around there that a fellow can easily weave between them. Just make sure not to get too close to any, and you'll be fine. And, from what I've seen, they don't usually wander close to the derrick.

2. Guys who have pretty stats on skills and umber staff


Oil is regenerate after 5 min or more cruel worth 7 - 15 ped
 
I never had bad experience with DK, might be because of the good relations GD has with them. Zee from DK even let me try my gun on him, and I have not seen him shoot anyone while I was there.

I wonder what your problem is. Sure, some ubers are insufferable, but even that is all in the game. So is your attitude, but you are not doing yourself any favours. Ubers (and even midlevel players like me) enjoy killing noobs at the rig, and don't mind having to spend the ammo, otherwise they wouldnt be there. Anyone who can stay alive at the rig deserves to be there, anyone who dies there doesn't. And there is no way to stop them from taking any oil they want, at least, no way for you.

I dare you to find other noobs as dumb as you, willing to spend their time on nothing better than attempting to annoy (but in fact please and satisfy) stronger players. Most just get a life for themselves.

As for the sparse scattering of Atrox, don't make me laugh. Minutes can go by without a Prowler wandering by, but the next he brings his brothers and sisters with him as well. And of you have any chance to survice, it is only because of some uber.

Noobs should go to the rig, I did many times. But it is not their natural environment, to put it mildly. You belong there the moment no one else but you decides you stay there.
 
I've been thinking bout heading for the ridge time and again since I heard about the place peeing free oil.
Thing is I don't really think anymore that's a place to get any profit at all. I bet you'd be better off searching fruit or dung among combibos and so if you want to make some easy money: saves some time and it's somehow less frustrating. I don't speak from personal experience but let's say you get 500-1500 oil without having to share with anyone, every 5 mins. How long do you think you can survive before an atrox decides to seize your head off? Besides, how safe is the run from the outpost back to a TP if you have no teleport chip as myself? And of course, bear in mind oil is heavy, meaning that run would now be a stroll rather than a sprint, if you are succesful enough. If you do get back running from the outpost to Twin Peaks you haven't made profit enough, in my humble opinion.
I will definitely go there sooner or later, but I don't conceive that place as a stable, good and comfortable source of income.
Well, that's just my views on it. I just think there's quite a few more easy ways of getting a profit ingame, though heading there can be definitely loads of fun.
 
In the older days Ubers used to make people que for the oil there are some great pics of it around, I think alot are at EP.

When I started PE just over a year ago now it was much easier to get to the oil rig wasnt as easy to get oil and that part hasnt changed :silly2: but getting there in the first place has it is now very difficult for people to get passed the mobs there you could run right round them and not find a way passed :( I have tried couple of times ;)

If you do make it there and when people do it can get quite busy then its a fastest fingers first to pick up the barrels.

If you can get there its worth a visit to try for some oill, I think most socs will close the rig to get oil for there spaceship that way they can go without having to buy the oill and only have to pay for the repairs of the ship, which in turn means cheaper space travel for those socs, so if they can waste a couple of ped killing you each time because the oill they are getting can help them cut any losses, the best thing is not to try and take it personnally, and dont start shouting abuse at people who shoot you it will only make them attack you more ;) sometimes vets will let people they know or are nice in after they have got enough, and as manners cost nothing you dont lose anything if they don't

How about a Scheduled Mass Noob/Med-Noob Invasion? Just so many That it would create so much lag and be harder to pick off.

Of course it does not have to be just noobs. Anyone that would be interested.

It would be neat if you could do it as a Team but instead of splitting PEDs, everyone would split the total Oil picked up.
 
Hell, gimme a date and time and I'd be glad to gather recruits for that! NOOBS UNITE! But seriously, I'm just trying to make some PED for use in the game. You can't sweat forever, and alternate accounts aren't allowed. So once you reach the cutoff level, you can only find income three ways:
1. Bartering. This can be a more or less reliable way to earn a few PED, making minute adjustments to prices to gain a few cents with every transaction that passes through your hands. It can be made easier by having access to multiple teleports, and using them to buy and sell according to demand in location (such as buying sweat from the notorious sweat fields of Camp Phoenix, and heading over to Twin Peaks to sell it to the pros)
2. Fruit or dung gathering. From my experience, an INCREDIBLY slow way of earning any PED. Don't even bother trying, just keep your eyes peeled and pick the stuff up if you see it.
3. The oil rig....

See the dilemna? I don't have a credit card to register, I primarily downloaded this game as an altenative to the money whoring monthly fee games like WoW.
And BTW, telling us to not try and that you guys like wasting the ammo isn't going to fool anyone. We know you pro's are nervous for your little free ride you have going on over there, so you just act tough and pretend that there's no way we can inconvenience you. :cool: Your number is up!

The oil rig was never, is not now, and will never be intended as a source of income for noobs.

Pls come and visit as often as you like. You'll be one of the few who gets killed over there more often than myself!
 
Personally, I went to check out the rig. If I had know it had a bunch of rude wankers camping out and looking to kill new players, I would have found more "fun" things to do. And it isn't a matter of being polite, since my recent experience didn't even give me the chance to try. If I thought it would prove something, I would join Neon in kicking some asses. Since I am too much of an adult (actual adult, not an ankie stealing his parents credit card), I will leave those rude people with the perverbial raspberry..........

And before you get the urge to start flaming me.......try to remember that this game is supposed to be played by adults...so think for a minute and start acting like one.

Besides, from what I saw, it isn't worth going back. If I want to be ignored, I will talk to my wife. At the end of the day, I'll get laid...and that is far better than getting on my knees and kissing some clowns arse just so that I can stand beside an oil rig. From what I saw, there was way too much of that to take.

Forget the rig. It's the most expensive oil on the planet.

Get the TT enmatter finder and 20 ped worth of probes (or as many as can afford).
Tp to any spot on Eudoria, walk for about 10 minutes in any direction, and then start dropping probes every 100 meters or so.
You will get oil. And probably some other stuff too.
