Hi, today when i loggd on in pe, a couple of "Shaolin dudes" camed up to me and asked me about the "real stats" for my modified tegretov. since they might be intressted of buying it i can understand that they whanna test the decay on the gun before they trade away thousends of peds..
Anyway so i thouth it was a good ide since i got nothing to hide (promise :silly2: ).
i'll told them that they could scan and look at the tt and let me fire some settled amount of shoots nice and slowley, so theyself can count the shoots so nothing would go wrong.
"Orion" ho seemd to lead the talking, whanted to test the gun with her own hands, witch i found as an to risky deal even if i dont think Orion the general of shaolin is a scammer :) But he keept on going and offer me to hold some stuffs for it.
I dont know exaktly how mutch she placed on the trading box but..im sure it's value was like my tegretov.
However i dont like the ide of "trading away" my mod teg like that. so i told him again. then the odd thing happend, she began to call me a noob and told me that the'ry will get pornstars gun insteed (gl with that :D ).

I found it shocking that such a great pe player would look down on other people like that. I dont see why call me a noob couse im deathly afraid of loosing my tegretov.
If i were more skilled or happends to be a more importand player would she call me noob then or respect me more? :rolleyes:
Or am i just overreacting?

I understand you. I wouldnt give away my Mod Teg. But still shes calling you a noob with a smile after. Its still silly from your side putting up that picture. What do you want to show? I wouldn't let her try my Mod Teg but I wouldnt either put up pics on her.

You need a sence of humor

I wouldn't have traded my gun to anyone, not even if I met Marco in game.. So I think you did the right thing not to trade with her/him.
 
same thing happend too me when i haved the pro niel bartons finger...some uber person ingame called me noob and some stuped words...becouse i needed alot off peds......not fun to se people in great soc like shaolin say this too u...ofcorse they want too se if it is that good as it says...but calling u noob is not right way... i hope u get it traded better way... ;)
 
It's quite simple really.......when you can't get what you want,you get a little crappy...drop a name here and there.Don't take it personaly Nicky,do you really if people think if ur uber or not?? You have your friends in PE (EU) and IRL...there the ones to listen too !!

Nicky I thot about asking you the same thing, although I dont know you well at all and would feel even more scared than you felt towards them in giving you what you believe equal collateral for your gun.

They have been around in game long enough to be trusted, though I do think you were smart for not lending it to them on a saturday night, as that is drinking time for many of the participants.

I know Akoz quite well, the others not as well but I can assure you they are not scammers. Akoz has been around long enough to have a positive reputation ; Do you think he would run off with the gun? If they are truly interested, talk to akoz and let him test it out, or assume full responsibility. And He has the ped to pay u collateral on it, but if you do need it, dont ask for 85k...
 
Don't worry this happens all the time, the general attitude of those in the top socs tends to be like this.

Ofc I'm not saying all are like this, but "the whole I'm better than you thing" is one of the worst things about this game, (sorry, virtual universe).

It seems some think they have a god-given right to be a**holes and look down upon the rest.

I find it disrespectful, uber or no uber, people shouldn't just think that they have the right to be rude and just take anyone's weapon just because your "better".

You did the right thing to not trade your gun, regardless of the situation, I'm sure it's not that much of a "noobish" gun if they were so interested on it. Collateral or not, I think what bother this person it's the way this person approached.

Money can buy skills, weapons, clothes, but it seems money can't buy respect or humility. Looking down on a player and calling them a noob because they didn't want to trade with ya it's not the kind of thing I see coming from a member of a respected society like Shaolin. Shame on ya ...
 
You did the right thing by not lending the gun, but I'd like to add that just because someone is the leader of a famous society does not mean they are perfect. Just like when the world is shocked when a famous athlete or movie star is caught in compromising situations. ;)

but it happend so fast and before i knew it, i'll was in a trade with Orion witch i had never meet before, and was asked to lend my tegretov.

I dont know how long you have been playing PE but do know that to be called a noob by respected members ingame can be very hurtful to anyone even moreso when you have been playing for a while.

I think that many people often forget that there is a real person on the other side of the keyboard and we have feelings....

I have shed many a tear whilst indulging my PE habit and unless I say so in chat noone would ever know.

With the amount of scamming etc that is going on right now I do not blame you in the slightest for not loaning your item but I must ask are you selling or were they just curious?

If you were not selling then I do not see that you did the wrong thing even if they did offer to let you hold equal value in collateral because there is always a chance they will say but I gave you 50k for it so its mine now.

And no I am not saying that this person in particular would do this but that you did the right thing in protecting your interests.

OK JUST SAW YOUR SELLING THREAD SO NO NEED TO ANSWER.... :duh:
 
Orion isn't considdered uber in my eyes either, hell I hardly heard anything about her/him. Probably just had a bad day. Don't worry about it.
 
Okay, here is how it is from our end :)
Ofcourse it's not allways nice to be called a noob, but he did so with a smile.

You offered to do a decay test where we scanned you and the gun, and then you would do 10 shots and then we would scan the gun again. But honestly a 10 shot decay shoot just isn't good enough to test any gun, especialy when you are going to pay around 6-7K USD for it.

So basicly we offered 1angel, 1shadow, 1adj. fap and 1 storm coat, hell you could have gotten my cent coat and another angel of top of that as well.

To test the weapon I would like at the very very least 100 shots fired, or maybe even 1000 shots fired, those last digits in the decay actualy do make a difference.

And why on earth should 3 members of a fairly respected soc lose their name without at least gaining something from it? You where offered more than fair collaterel (Market value about 10K more than you are selling the gun for in auction)

But I understand that you are scared to lose the gun, but if you had lost it like this, at least you would have gotten more than you asked for in auction :)


This is about what I had to say about this, if Stryker tests the gun, then that's good enough for me as well.

I am for sure not bidding further untill stats have been proven correct, you also have to have in mind I will lose tons on this if I buy a gun with false decay stats and also think other buyers will feel the same way

Edit: Orion would just test the gun as a favor to me, he does not want the mod tegr :)

it was stupid to call u noob but Orion is ok i think, was prolly a bit drunk or sumthin...
 
Well , maybe saying you noob straight is insulting in your side , but think that orion is in game since 3 year , and can feel insulted when people dont trust him.
Most of time if its not all time , when people dont trust me they are noob , not because they dont have skill , or bla bla , but because noob have to be carefull and dont trust people around.Still , i dont call them name , but that does not change the fact they are new in the game,dont know me and so dont trust me.

As for saying noob to someone else, lots people around should grow up.
For sure its not nice to call people name , because you are "older" in game them or got more skill or what ever , but som sence of humour can be used , and tolerance on som word.
And usual , people i see call other name , are not really "uber" or not in game since so long time , that often som "wanabe" ...

Not so long ago , i was called noob in other game because i have refuse to make a "team hunt" , or because i KS someone that come to hunt on my foot (when the game is near empty since its a beta).

I suggest you not lending the gun to anyone even to people you trust. I think Orion didnt mean that bad maybe a little disappointed that he couldnt not try it out.
In this times of scammers not lending it out seems wise, but most guns like mod teg were tried by the potential buyer in old times. So not lending it out for a potential buy can be considered a little insulting to the person involved. Well we all have to be carefull lately with all the people being hacked or scammed curtainly you with your Mod. Tegrotov. But you can trust most people in top 10 society's, all well skilled players have a reputation to defend otherwise they never could function in a top 10 society. Trust me on that!

Sure I understand you, but I also wanted you to understand that if you really want to sell that gun for even remotely close to what you asked (which is still idiotic to base it off of one persons word), I really do believe the buying party is going to want to test it. Thats why I went on to assure you that they can be trusted

Nicky, two things.

1. True, I could have asked you for a bigger test, and maybe I should just have done that. But you are the selling party, and when you ask such a high price for something. You should be at least a little flexible.

2. I (Male Nakia) works in a company selling high end sports gear for schools / sportsclubs and the likes, and trust me, the client never pays for the testing :) BUt if you want me to pay you for the test, then sure I'll pay you those 150ped if that makes such a big difference to you in a 70K ped trade :rolleyes:


But would still preffer someone else testing it, seller allways have an interest in his item getting the best result.

i dont post in this forum, so i might be a bit unknown to one or another.


1. my apologies for calling you a noob. whether someone is or not, it certainly is impolite to give that name, and usually is not my nature.

2. i continuously play PE since February 9th, 2002, with a single break of ~3 months before PE went gold.


3. as the smiley should indicate, the "noob" wasnt meant as serious as you picked it up. again, my apologies for that.

4. the term "noob" drops maybe 1000 times a day here, but you make a thread about it. i hope i didnt hit a nerve here... ;-)

- angel set
- adj fap
- storm coat
= ~84k total collateral for doing a decay test of 30 mins.

prolly 10 - 50k more than the gun might be worth (depending on stats).
so far about trust to unknown players.
claiming to fear getting scammed in this context in my eyes qualifies as being just a little noobish... ;-)

Lol...this noob discussion is taken faaar too serious in my humble opinion. So what if people call you or me a noob? Where is the harm in that? Take it with a smile and play along.
I consider myself a noob in sooo many areas even though I played pe for quite some time, and I am sure most other players are too....and who actually cares :). You learn as long as you live.

I know for a fact that Orion did not mean any disrespect (he is not that kind of guy). I also know for a fact that its good to be careful regarding potential scamming issues (and when to recognize a sincere request for testing made by well established and well esteemed players!). I hope you guys work it out and come to an agreement.
