Sweden - Contract Signing Ceremony for Entropia Universe entering China

Swedish MindArk and Chinese Cyber Recreational Development Corp. sign Agreement to Create the Largest Virtual World Ever
MindArk's CEO Jan Welter and CRD's CEO David Liu sign the landmark agreement to create a cash-based virtual economy for China. Goteborg's Mayor Göran Johansson was also present at the ceremony, as were leading officials from MindArk and Business Region Goteborg.

The new project will permit up to 7 million concurrent users logged into the virtual universe with an overall aim to attract some 150 million users from all over the world. Entropia Universe, a three-dimensional universe on the Internet intended for entertainment, work, commerce, community building, culture, and much more, is expected to generate over $1 billion annually in commerce from this partnership.

And you can bet that instead of hiring a separate group of people to work on this China-thingy, the same people that are supposed to be taking care of us are now distracted with this.

Expect the glacial-pace of improvement and expansion in PE to slow down...:(

I wonder whether the chinese government will be able to shut down EU if they start to dislike the content or the people playing ...

I'd better brush up my language skills and learn some chinese ...

Oh and BTW, you can expect that price for sweat will further fall... you'll probably see forced sweating appearing now ...
 
And this is why the new VU is not happening right now, most of the staff are in China ;)

what am i missing here? how is this thread different from the 2 or 3 others which seem to be on the same subject?

- sweat prices dropping ... talked about in another thread on same subject
- user counts ... talked about in another thread
- current eu players accessing the new worlds/resources ... talked about in another thread

The reason this is different is because this is the actual signing of the agreement!

ahh, i see .. yes, i often announce that im going to buy a new car, and then announce again that i've signed the paperwork ...and then tend to announce the first fill up :D

Actually, on closer inspection they aren't in China. That puts pay to that useless theory. Ho-hum.

they ment that amount on at all times, minimum. you need to eat, sleep, work, etc. too dont ya?

I believe that agreement was signed in Gothenburg.
Although from what i saw at the CRD's website i believe there were two ceremonies, one in China and another in Sweden.

You sure its not the MAX amount of players online? so we have to sit for hours trying to logg on.. and when we finally get on we CTD ;D -......?

This news must be HUGE in China, ALL of the servers are SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

And did anyone else notice the name of the project seems to be "Dotman World"...and it sounds an awful lot like "Second Life"
 
So I guess it will be called "Dotman Second Earth".... Hmmm....
 
I must admit
the idea of diffrent planest is a very exciting concept,so many positive things can come out of this if handeled correctly
MA please dont blow this chance ffs:)
 
i also wonder if you will be able to buy genuine fake mod merks on
this new planet :p

servers cant take 50 people in twins for more then 10 min and you will take in 7 mil?
