Hello everyone

I like from time to time to go in small Snable-Exa-Daiki hunts , alone or in team with my Disciples ...

I thought it would be cool to try the new BLP L gun CB5 instead of the Opalo ... I was gaining shitloads of BLPWT and i was happy for that but what about the other skills that really are important for all the hunters?

About my Experiment

For the Eco of the weapons used , is calculated the Markup %
  • CB5+Bull10 vs Opalo+A101
  • 100 peds BLP ammo , 100 peds Cells ammo
  • MOB: Snables Young-Domi NE of Argus
=======================================================

Unfortunately even in Snables i had a bad return ... but for the sake of this thread i kept going :D

The results are very interesting and i think i'll keep using my mighty Opalo+101

Here are the Graphs

The first line shows the skillgains with CB5+Bull tac10
The second Opalo+a101

We can see that skilling with Opalo+101 is slightly better than using CB5 with Bull Tac10!

I hope you all found that interesting and useful !

PS: All skills and graphs are made with NRF and not with manual calculations!

nice! +rep thats very useful!

yes, the theory says that skill gains are roughly proportional to the total amount spent. so, your test confirms it nicely:

the cost per shot of isis cb5 + bull tac10, according to entropedia, is 2.50 pec (at tt price, not counting markup).

the cost per shot with opalo + a101 is 2.67 pec

if you do the experiment with equal ammo for both guns, it means that with isis+cb5 you have spent ~7% less than with opalo+101, and therefore your skill gains should be ~7% less (measuring the skill gains with tt volume, not in skill levels, obviously).

nice to see that tests confirm the theories :)

Nice tests...I would however like to point out that there is quite a difference in price between Laser and BLP, so using the CB5 might actually be better for you in the long run, because I bet if you tallied the skills gained with the CB5, and sold the BLP tech, you could probably buy the same amount of Laser as you would have gained with the Opalo.

Or maybe i'm reading too much into it...i'd stick to the Opalo just for old times sake though :D

Or the additional 0.07 Damage/sec of Opalo = more skill gains ;)

I got your point and i think is right :yup: ... but the problem is the Bull Tac10 , which is a pain in the ass , always buying one after 35 peds* ammo.
So i don't find it worthy for the search and the extra Peds , because it even skills worse than Opalo .

*(Total Uses:1729 x 2 ammo with CB5 = 3458 ammo = 34.58 peds)

Great experiment, + rep.

Did you record the skillgains for lwt -v- blp tech? I'm guessing your lwt is much higher to start with, so you would have to convert the gains to chip tt for comparison.

You mentioned getting "lots of blp" gains. It is possible that more of your gains with the Isis showed up as weapon tech, reducing the gains for other skills in the profession.

Did you just start skilling blp? I have no hard data, but it always seems to me that the earliest gains in a skill come extra fast.

Thanks for your +rep . :)

About the LWT and BLPWT yes i have the skill gains , but like you pointed right , i had only 600 BLPWT , and almost 4.9k LWT :D

So they are not comparable , and the WT is not common so i didn't uploaded anything about em.

:tiphat:

PS- i said "I was gaining shitloads of BLPWT"

actually, more dmg/sec should translate to more skill-gains/sec

however, since your test was bound to a fixed amount of ammo (not time), then my point was that you will get more skill gains with the weapon (or combo) with higher total peds spent, regardless of how fast or slow those peds are spent. in your test, you spent 7% more (in tt value) with opalo+101, hence the higher skill gains.

in other words, if opalo were much slower than it is now (even with lower dmg/sec than cb5+tac10), the result would have been the same, in terms of total skill gains.

Bumpity :smash: so more ppl see these results

mmmmm i can see a rifle, weapon handling, rda, aim, agility, anatomy, mms, ird, and rda graphs with a single blue line on each one. where is the second line? or i just mistaken the whole thing?

Hehe, guess thats the value of quoting. The skill _points_ are not comparable, but the tt of chips they would fill is comparable. Did you record the start/end levels for these, and if so would you mind posting them? Not the graph, just the numbers.

If you notice there is a vertical grey line in the middle. That's the start of the "Opalo Line" ( Blue) going diagonally up. The "CB5 Line" (blue) it's the first that begins at the start of the axis and goes to the Vertical grey line in the middle.

No, but i can calculate it ,( the tt value for the skill level before and after)

:)

Ok , i found out about the TT value of the chips ...

BEFORE HUNTS

LWT TT chip value : 201.97 Peds

BLPWT TT Chip Value : 1.24

AFTER EXPERIMENTAL HUNT:

LWT TT chip value : 202.88 Peds

BLPWT TT Chip Value : 1.78

That means :

LWT skills in TT value : 0.91
BLPWT Skills in TT value : 0.54

:scratch2:

Something is wrong ... too big diference... HM ... dunno why! :dunno:

Does seem quite odd. Mind posting the actual start and end points for lwp and blpwt?

So all those when broke hunts with opalo aint to bad after all "skillwise" :yay:

Sorry for the mistake on the TT chip section , but i got wrong starting charts for BLPWT ! BUT again LWT is better compared the BLPWT :D

BEFORE HUNTS

LWT TT chip value : 201.97 Peds

BLPWT TT Chip Value : 1.01 (correction )

AFTER EXPERIMENTAL HUNT:

LWT TT chip value : 202.88 Peds

BLPWT TT Chip Value : 1.79

New results : ( After correction)

LWT skills in TT value : 0.91
BLPWT Skills in TT value : 0.78

@Coop

Here are the correct numbers :)

LWT Chip TT value : 0.91
BLPWT Chip TT value : 0.78

Really nice thread well done

I also work on theory of more peds spent more skill gains and this certainly confirms that in a more scientific way than my basic observations - thanks for taking the time put it together

I would like to see your results m8 :)

The only way

The only way to get true readings and compare the 2 weapons:

1) get 2 noobs with no skills like in zero.
2) give them the weapons and ammo.
3) get them to hunt the same mobs, with this I mean not just same mobs but also maturity. Like 100 exo youngs, 10 daika old .......... get my drift.

and only then can we get the true rezults.

Hm , i think you have a point but :

1) 2 noobs , if they are really noobs , probably will not have maxed stats in the Guns, so forget about max stats :)

2) NO ONE do those tests for low dmg/sec guns , and i've done this in the past ( see here) , so i actually do it for total noobs who start to skill now , and everyone who finds the data useful :tiphat:

3) There is NOWAY to be able kill ONLY Youngs or ONLY Matures , there is no such spawn for small maturity . Maybe only the snables North of Caravan , but again sometimes you find Old too

4) It's interesting to see the impact on my levels after 100 peds ammo , how low skillgains you take

So , that's why i think my test is closest to real skilling

:tiphat:

Ooooh nice...I was liking the Cb5 though, it seems to do heavier damage.

Good to see that many ppl like my Test :ahh:

.. i might try something with bigger weapons, in the near future... that's when i HOf and get few peds

so if you have maxed opalo? will it be no more sib?:(
