To the TS - Joser showed enormous respect by stating his view and acknowledging your different view. Your response was not to acknowledge his view but to slam it down. So, please, wise up and learn to appreciate different opinions which are not always the same as your own. There is already enough boned-headed bigotry and mindless bias in this world.

Now ... i have seen worse names then that, that name didnt acurly insult or tried to harm any persons, it is just a name..
But name like "We Hate ----" or "---- sucks balls" (insert name on -----) is another thing, and even that has happend countless of times, the question is just, do people bother to report these things?

Im sure the mainstream of people have fun and get a laugh out of this, then there is one singel person who can do nothing about it, when this happends, it would be good if there was something to do about it.

imagen a ATH with "Xzion Sucks Balls" (now personaly i would be kinda happy with that.. and find it fun) but thats another thing, thats me, im sure some people would find it offensive. :ahh:

Surely you are only making yourself as guilty as the original people?

In future if you are offended by something/someone then I suggest you raise a ticket with MA support and let them deal with it discretely.

When drug out into the light, I notice that this comment is not only patently silly, it is also rather rude. Normally I wouldnt bother commenting, but the complete lack of tolerance from the TS is really begging for a reply, especially (as Joser so accurately pointed out) since TS was shown nothing but respectful and considered opinions regarding his initial post.
Sir, I respectfully suggest that if you find the opinions that YOU asked for not to your liking, then maybe in the future you should:
a.) Not post.
b.) Post elsewhere.
c.) Develop the testicals to handle views that are not in line with your own.

Hopefully this thread may help you gain a little perspective on reality.:D

I have no problems with that team name. When it came across I laughed. The only problem I see is that not only can you NOT shave a vagina, I am pretty sure no hair grows on / in the vagina. :laugh:

I watched an interview with Stephen Fry recently. He is a great fan of swearing, and made some interesting observations about people who complain about swearing - Thanks Google :yay:

If the original thread starter thought that the team name would offend others - thanks for the thought, but we will survive! If on the other hand they were genuinely offended, could I suggest they firstly contemplate their own sensibilities, and then come to accept that disagreement does not equate, in any shape or form, to disrespect :rolleyes:

If it was a clever and witty play on words it would be fine, but it's not is it?

If you had a 14 year old daughter (who could easily be playing in this game) and someone approached her talking like this ..I wonder if you would grin and say how cool they were and how it was just a matter of different perspectives on morals? I bet a few would consider breaking their nose quite seriously.

Luckily there aren't too many people who would be offended in game, and hey..didn't we all love to find a new dirty word in the dictionary when we were kids?

...and that "worst form" started with name calling in the streets being acceptable didn't it? It being fine to say what you felt freely despite it offending others. Write on shop windows and escalate to much worse. That type of behaviour was seen and tolerated by all nations and no-one did a thing to stop it ....until way too late.

Amazingly Germany didn't have the worst form of it in history either..look up what Belgium managed to do in the Congo...if you have the stomach for a very sick story indeed.

How many school kids stay away from school every day or even end up killing themselves because their classmates are exercising their "freedom of speech" about them ..most people see it as bullying.

Humans are depressing sometimes. We never learn.

Well, i personally don't find it offensive. I have seen more offensive team names in the past than this. I don't even think it offends me at all. You have to remember that if you are underage and playing EU, you had parental conscent, so it's the parent's responsibility to decide if EU is appropriate for them, not MA in this case.

All i can really say is if it offends you SO much, then send it to support. They will make the decision as to whether it is too offensive or not and take action.

But, don't hold your breath.
 
If we start censoring EU, where will it end.
Remember this is a game for 18+ ppl.

We already have to wear white undies (not nice under a gem bustier)
We already lost blood (I really really want to see those mobs bleed)

No not really.
To call someone names was frowned upon much more as before.
See before there were the communists and socialistics, the patriots, the centrum, the feudalistic and of course a lot of these nationalistic oriented folks.
Sometimes waging street wars on each other and of course swearing and defaming a lot.
After 33 there happened a consolidation, actually many people have the 6 years until 39 in good memory and until 42 it even looked like we would win did it not?
So for many people it was a good time... of course not for the gay, disabled, abnormal and of course jews.

What I assume you refer to is the Night of Broken Glass and you know what.
That night was a total failure for the government, they staged a discriminating and brutal attack on the jews and it was a miserable failure.
Instead of the public joining in with the soldiers in civil outfits and instead of a public uproar against the jews, the crazy germans even saved and helped a lot of jews.

Speaking freely in that times most often resulted in being sent to a concentration camp.

I can't answer what I'd exactly do just yet. My daughter is only 4. In ten years' time I actually like to think that she would know what a "vagina" is. I'm fairly certain she would actually know what a "shaved vagina" is.

I think I can teach her by that point where to draw the line between lewd and acceptable. Seeing the words "Shaved Vaginas Rock!" isn't all that bad. Someone approaching her asking if her vagina is shaved is not. If I feel that she isn't able to handle seeing those words flash across the screen, I simply will cancel her account to EU. I know there's an age limit to this game for a reason.

well, first of all i wont tollerate any1 telling me what is good and what is bad according to somebodys belief. vagina is a normal word. well uve crawled outta it havent u? so why r u so shocked? now if the word would be "!!!!" (ahh now your eues r sore :yay:) then that mighta been a different problem. yes the forum is public, yes u might not want to expect such words to appear in public fora (did u know that it should be fora in plural btw? well i guess u did cos u r such a linguistic purist).

Hmm... I did not vote on this issue simply because I'm ambivalent about it. I have no issues with that particular team name either personally or as a woman. I do, however, have a few issues with some other names that have scrolled by on the global listings. As responsible adults, we do have to keep in mind that there are minors on this site. I have run into a number of people under the age of 18 and cannot vouch that their parents monitor the content of all the games they play. Use of explicit language and vividly explicit descriptions such as the one you mentioned could be construed, under the tightest scrutiny, as abuse. Even though I have no issues with the team name exemplified here, nor of explicit or foul language in general, it does not mean that that same language will not offend someone else because their child has been exposed to it. If you would like to keep the use of such language, I would recommend that EU be 18+ only (not likely, with the amount of teenagers who play, and deposit, in this game). Otherwise, if this is to be a free access site to all ages, we are probably going to have to learn to curtail our tongues (or rather, fingers) just a little, to comply with the EULA.
