How Far is Too Far?

Should MA Do More to Prevent Such Team Names for Occuring?

It wouldn probably come under the "don't use sexually explicit language" although... hmmm. Probably a rap accross the knuckles from MA will sort it.

Maybe they could implement a word filter?
 
For me this is not so disturbing. It could be much worse.... It sounds more like a preference then an insult... ;)

Even if , sadly , i am pretty sure when china will come , we will have the word filter.
And if you did play a "china" game , with world filter , you will understand why i say its pain in ass.
 
that team name aint even worst name you could make.
about word filter, if it comes, i hope you will have a choice to decide if its on or off

out of the hundreds of thousands of people who play its just a large handful who think it is OK to use such a name perhaps they think its is OK or something it could just be a younger person with some mates thinking it would be funner but it could be Any really

maybe there should be some way to maybe lock there accounts for a day or 2 not permanently but just a while. so they understand that some people could be efended

personly i could not care less what the team name was but i no some people could

i agree no word filters people should no that theres a time and a place to use such words after all u would not go around town yelling rude words but if u fell down the stairs or got no looter after no looter then perhaps people could understand
 
Yeah, I agree with Abdullah, if it really has to come, make it an option, for parental control or sensitive people... :) Nothing more irritating then getting ******** as your typed message instead of your normal conversation because some word in your native language for example was unfortunately rather close to an obscene word in another language....
 
Word filters are stupid and don´t work anyway if you don´t want to. You can write "v@gina" or "vag!na" and everyone will understand it.

Nonethless people who choose such a stupid name or think that´s funny are just immature or simple minded imo. I think so because I´m not able to laugh about such silly shit since I´ve been 14.

But it´s ok... little boys are used to get a little freaky after they have seen their first porn movie! :D

OK, so a lot of people have said the truth that the vast majority of entropians are well over 18....

But what I wonder is with team names like that is there perhaps too few trying to act that age....

Yep. I have played another online game with a dodgy word filter. Every time you write Saturday it comes out on the screen as Sa****ay. :rolleyes:
 
Didn't read all replies, so sorry if it turns out to be an exact copy of an earlier reply.

I read that some people tend to think there aren't children playing this game. This can't be true, since they're allowed to play from age 13 and above, IF the parents agree. And there are some players that let their children play on their account and/or look when they're playing. Other then children, there are enough players that don't like certain teamnames. So it might be nice if teamnames are "nice"

I think it's hard to censor on teamnames though. And sense of humour differs a lot. And sometimes a "wrong" name is as funny as can be :D But it would be nice if players think twice before entering a very obscene / racist / ... teamname. Just some common sense to do so, IMHO.
Not sure if this particular teamname provides the best example, but I've seen teamnames that made me wonder if the one writing it and the ones joining it realised what they typed or would be proud of it when they came in the ATH list with that name...

It's good to see 80% of this forum isn't too prudish about the word "vagina" being used.

@ Threadstarter, why would they ban using such words if they themselves have creatures ingame like boorum's...

The Vagina is Internal, you don't shave it :)

You can shave the Pubis, Vulva etc, but not the vagina.

This is a game meant for 18+ year olds, i'd like to think that we as a group are mature enough to develop a sense of humor. We make those sort of names to bring a smile to ourselves and to other ppl who find it funny. Now i wasn't in the team in question but i did enjoy their name. I have made names worse than that one and i don't really care what you think. Your offended ? so what?, welcome to life, things won't always go your way.

CAUSE THERE YOU KILL PPL? maybe we should ban hunting too, doest Atroxes and other mobs feelings too ?? ( even if their feelings are Artificial...) and while we are still banning things, lets ban wepons crafing whip crafting ( weapons can be used to kill, and whips.. well they can be used in sexual activity) and lets ban enmatter probes they drill deep inside "Mother calypso, " sure we can see some sexual resemblence there!!!!
