Impact on professions of chipping skills

Let's put a nail in that metallurgy/mining coffin

Metallurgy:

Level before: 290.17
Level after: 1.24
Chip tt: 0.41 peds

Professions affected:

Metal Engineer 7.16 -> 6.78

That is all.

I used NRF to measure the levels before and after; don't really care to upload all the screenies manually.

can't say i've ever noticed a perc gain when nerve blasting, so it seems consistent.

Perception-loot is an old wives tale anyways... ;)

Cheers for the confirmation Dale, and yeah you're probably right. But I'm always so convinced perception appears to be partly location based lol. Then again last night I got about 3 billion of them and still I can't see myself on top of the ATH list.... :D

Ah nice one Doer. So that's Metal Engineer 13%.

This will be the last from me for a while as I don't deposit much and want to hunt a bit more :)

Here's Marksmanship for ya.

Having not read other threads I was surprised to see Dmg go up as well as Hit. Surprised in a nice way that is. But no Hit for psychotropians =/

Ano, thx man, have been looking forward to MMS for a long time!!!

I suspect the percentages will be different to what was thought before, Jimmy get to work :p

+rep on the way :)

Thanks ano. At a glance it looks like Ranged Laser (dmg) is 10% which is already listed on wiki so I presume thats documented here somewhere. We had about 10% for (Hit) too in the pro-standing thread but it looks to me more like 7 or 8% from these screenshots. I'll check the percentages properly later this evening when I get home.

No problem EyeContact - glad to be chipping one someone else finds useful :)

Marksmanship Results

Apologies for the delay.

The results for Marksmanship are:

All Ranged (Dmg) professions 10%
Psychotropian (Dmg) 10%
Pyrotropian (Dmg) 10%
All Sniper (Hit) professions 8%
All Pistoleer (Hit) professions 7%

All pretty much spot on. The Pro-standing calculation thread takes a bit of a beating on this one :D

Hi Jimmy

Couple of corrections/updates for the summary page at the front...

1) Missed out Brawler on the dexterity chip

2)

Can confirm Combat reflexes has no effect on any of the mindforce skills

(well, taking out 200 levels did nothing...)

keep up the good work :)

Nice tally Dale. Actually we could probably finish some of them up completely using the method of the old thread now. If I get a free lunchbreak at work next week I'll put the old spreadsheet into action for Laser Sniper with the new knowns...less unknowns now so it should run way faster!

Oh...and I propose that Mentor is known 100% not 0% :D

Actually we could do with someone to confirm that. I'm assuming Mentoring contributes 100% to Mentor but you never know.

I tried to get the info out of alice a while back but she wasn't playing along...

Anyone here done any mentoring?

i'll talk to alice in-game and let you know :)

Well if you are friend or know somebody who is friend with them I would ask either

Jenna Mercury Star
or maybe SKULL too
I think 431 would have to double check but I'm sure it is over 350

Why:
Because they have very high mentoring skills (I believe that that weren't just braging of something that they didn't have on chat)
So I think they will have more than 300

Second because they have high skills in other areas
Meaning that if one of those makes a small contribution it will be more easilly noticed (for example agility, or maybe other general skills, or an unlocked skill).

So with them the error margin would be minimum.

As far as I'm concern I have level 31 in Mentoring (1st disciple took me to 31, second didn't give skills, 3rd gave a little more in the 31 progression bar)

and the Mentor profession is at ~3/10 of the bar progression.
it's at 39-40 in 124 possible:
[br]Click to enlarge[/br]
I believe I will upload a better image tonight, took this out of the gallery since it's what I can show at the moment

So I assume that Mentor counts for more than 98% of the overall average.

I don't say 100% because:
I read that there are people with more than 3-4 in mentor level and didn't unlock that profession (are still with 64 in 65 possible)

MG Mighty - thanks for the info. Apologies for the slow reply - some RL business to deal with the last few days!

I was pretty sure no other skills than mentoring contribute to the profession, otherwise we'd already have people that have qualified for it without having any mentor skill.

So the figures you provide suggest pretty strongly to me that Mentoring contributes 100% to your Mentor profession level.

With regards to your final comments about people having 3 or 4 mentoring skills and having not achieved the profession - Mentoring contributing 98% rather than 100% wouldn't cause that effect. What I suspect is that either all professions start off slightly negative without skills, or there's a small threshold that you need to get beyond before it registers as achieved... There's some other issues such as the contributions gained from the starting attribute levels (for the avatars who started at 20 agility etc rather than those that began recently with 1) that led me to believe something like that must be the case before anyway!

OMG What a great thread

This is really great +rep for u Jimmy can see alot of work has gone into this.

My question (which is slightly offtopic so I'll keep it brief) is does skill chipping up affect your ability to global/HOF in a negative way? As I have been told this is the case

Regards

Pol:yay:

Thanks Eyecontact

Thank you I thought it may have been but I do like to double check these things
:)

No, I don't believe anything of the sort.
