Slight problem, I'm afraid Mikah jumped in before you and filled the team.

Which brings me to the subject of:

Substitutes.
(This came in to deal with the multitudinous response...)


Any team member in the final 8 who wishes to drop out of the competition at any time may be replaced, but cannot return themselves to the tournament afterwards. The new member either stays the distance or gives their spot to someone else. The same applies if a member is unsuitable enough to be dropped (i.e."the Weakest Link") but any booting MUST be after a majority vote within the team.

So: If your team is full, pledge allegiance to any other place of birth and bolster a fragile team, or sign up as a Substitute for your own country. This works on the same first-come-first-served basis as the main team.

(Nicole, if you wish to be "on the bench" for USA, you will be Sub. #1, if you wish to play for Italy I'll add you)

Dusk: I see what you're saying, but I got 25 countries on the scoreboard so far, which is a decent representation of any world, and a good reflection of where in the world the Forum-Users live. I ain't got the time to go massive on this, or the money to commercialise it, but it looks like just posting on our wonderful EF is enough to get a more-than-healthy response. And I did find it funny when straight after your post calling for more diversity Zimbabwe signed up!

BlackHawk: I got what you said too; but due to a need for drama, the scheduling of 25 time zones and what looks like 100 or so hunters, the hunts will be run at a maximum of 2 in any one day, and rarely, if ever, concurrently. These are people's countries we're scoring here, need to get it right... don't want a virtual international incident

Well i think this is just the initial event anyways... As soon as people see how much fun this can be, and how well the event is executed i think alot more people will be drawn in for the next one : )

The only problem there is going to be for me is the scheduling aspect of it... I work 5 days a week 12 hours a day, so really i can only hunt sat/sun anytime, i can do it on any weekday but it has to be after 6 pm alaska time. So in other words what i am saying is with the major diversity in time zones, it would be nice to have alot of the events scheduled not specifically for the european countries Don't hurt me EU!

Another thing: the Teams that are full or getting there should be thinking about a Captain (Leader) for your team; doesn't have to be the most "Uber", the one who's online the most could be the more useful.... but personally my criteria for a Captain in this event would be the one with a name you normally see followed by "Killed a Creature"

Now that we're getting a real big response and some highly-regarded players have signed up, I'm really glad I thought this event through a bit before posting

If anyone is worried that certain ubers are going to wipe the floor with your own team, please remember that much of victory lies in luck; your good luck and the other team's bad luck. While it is true that more experienced and highly skilled players will be killing more mobs, it doesn't necessarily mean that for the 3 hours during the hunt they will loot more than anyone else; it just gives them a better chance. Remember, TT value of globals count too, and a noob team getting a lucky HoF on a small mob might be enough to tip the balance. Also, extra points will be awarded for globalling on different mobs in the list rather than concentrating 3 hours on the highest scoring

Also: Now ALL globals must feature in a screenshot, posted on the relevant thread in events, before results are confirmed. Screenshots must include the team list, and time. Co-ords are not necessary as this could aid other hunters in the same stage. This has been introduced to stop several teams going out with the same name. (I know, you wouldn't, but someone might)



This isn't meant to put anyone off, it's to re-assure those who may have been put off..... ....and get more names up!

But I'd like to point out that most of the time I'm only available roughly around 16:00-22:00 GMT and participation also depends on liquid funds (PED card), I've been quite a packrat lately and I hoard too much stuff.

So sign Brastem Sendaran Funkaros for team Finland, and please do try to spell it right, I still can't understand how incredible amounts of people find the word "Sendaran" so absolutely impossible to type.

Friday Night sees the Draw, the Moblist, the entire Rules, and the dates of the first hunts.... which will start the following weekend.

So yes, there's a good few days to pick a Captain, get acquainted, discuss the moblist and work out tactics.
