Brief etymology and translation :-

The OP used the term "soutpiel" - an epithet for english speaking South Africans that translates as "salty penis" (one foot in england, one foot in africa, dick in the sea)

I reminded the OP that boers (afrikaans speaking South Africans) are notorious for tasting everything.

Cause Boere Afrikaners ( < I R DAT ) are plesierig ( fun ) as the saying goes.... also mostly very creative ^^ Plus it's Boere with a capital B ( as you well know ! ) ^^ (y)

You'll note I capitalised only South Africa.... to quote an old boer "Eendracht Maakt Macht".... we need to move past the tribes boet - ja, boere is plesierig, en 'n boer maak 'n plan... alles in orde swaer.

Probleem vir my is waneer al die taale wat ek praat my rondneek as ek iets moet skryf, moet altyd my werk oor en oor edit. :)

Had a chance to read it properly just now, and yeah, it’s definitely a unique take on sci-fi ( i assume a crowded market so that is a good thing ) , plus i’m partial to a bit of philosophy, so that angle mixed with the mystery defo works for me.

Die "flow" is net ’n bietjie "los" hier en daar, maar dis defo ’n damn goeie read! :)

Waiting for the stale papered cut and paste zero vision academics to come riding in on their inflatable high horsies to tame it all, so desperate for relevance having lost their grip on the reality that they would not exist without contrarians thinkers, visionaries, explorers etc.
