I have seen so many old player who are quiet and play as best they can, I see their inventories/storage full of items that are no longer available ..Yet, they push on in this game without teeth on forums or game.

I think Mindark should acknowledge these players who have stood by quietly and helped players over the years.

I seen so many get discouraged and yet still try..

Is time for Lootius to reward them. :wtg:

i definitely think there should be some kind of in-game recognition based on the lifespan of the avatar. even if just in the nameplate, like an optional title or symbol

i also think there should be some kind of account rewards system based on tier of lifetime depo and/or cycle. i know there would be a LOT of players higher than me on both of those (especially on the age of avatar) but i still think it would be cool.

As an old guy, and a long time player, while its not our due, it would be a very nice show of appreciation and loyalty. Thanks, Rose, for the suggestion.

They don't care about the old players. Just want to milk them.

Here take your antiquated skill pill for mentoring the new players.

By the way does anyone know who the actual first created avatar was? Or maybe even the Top10 first created?

I don't want to sound morbid, but there are a few players who passed away...my thought was to create some kind of in-game memorial for them, where their avatars could be preserved/displayed, maybe for their relatives to login and visit...maybe I'm wrong. Just a thought.

Makes me wonder didnt mindark auction off statues to be put in place for whoever purchased them? Did that ever happen?

I suggested a while ago already to erect a stele or stone wall kind of thing at the now disused Memorial Island where the names of those who passed on can be engraved, if family or friends wish that, for a reasonable fee. Other games have similar features and it is indeed quite meaningful to the community.

i think that would be great so long as it was done tastefully

alternatively, if tasteful is out the window, could just randomly name Halloween mayhem annihilation zombie after them ;)

I just had this for 80+ hours of active disciple teaching... *sigh*
This was my 5th and last disciple i guess.

It's a nice set of ideas. A TWEN coat for players who make it to twenty years on the same account or something. The statues yes they did get actioned in the end after MA didn't do anything for a LONG LONG time and folks complained and it was pointed out that they were selling things they didn't deliver which was damaging confidence in the platform. I'm not sure if all the statue stand ins were sold or got actioned though? Anyone else know how many were sold and how many have actual player statues on them now?

As for the memorial stuff, yes I've know 2 people pass away myself in game in the time I've been around. There's a place called Memorial Island where there is a shrine to Neverdie's partner and also someone's baby. I'm not aware of anyone else having in game tombstones though?

I think the trouble with such things is that MA need some sort of evidence that a player has indeed passed and that it was their wish to be commemorated in the game and then I imagine there is an implementation fee and work that has to be carried out/paid for to create the memorial. Probably for most this is either impossible or not something they cared enough to arrange. As for a generic wall of names I don't think MA can realistically have any way of knowing who has died and should be added to it.

This all said. I do really like the idea of in game references to avatar's. The named items have been a nice homage over the years for some people. There's another game where I have my name "somewhere in world" which turned out to be a crashed spaceship's crew roster. Kinda cool even if only on an info dialog and not actually written/visible in the game world itself so to speak.

On this note it used to be fun to write your name somewhere in game using small low value items. But MA removed such fun because they claimed it was impacting performance...

Ah well... MA is why we can't have nice things...

I proposed for TWEN all those players who have been in the game for 20 years get a gift just for them, even soal bound and maybe even just cosmetic. It's nothing to show a little appreciation to those who have stuck up for this game for so long... I was even thanked for the idea and told something would be done... Welp, everyone got a jacket and mask. Was that supposed to be the gift? Well, that didn't acknowledge those who stuck around this game so long....

If MindArk were smart they would make a 1-year gift, 5-year gift, 10-year gift, and 20-year gift, and maybe a 30-year gift , etc. (If the game servives that long.)

Said gift could be soal bound and maybe not as great as the best items in-game but something practical. For example, at 5 years maybe a tagger that has 200m and does 1 damage every second. Or anything really...

But I'd just settle for MindArk to hire a better balancing manager, and maybe a good writer to help inspire them to create more entertaining content....

I'm pretty sure they are not around any longer. Sooo many players I remember 20 years ago I have not seen in many many years... Ask Orion, he might remember if any still play....

It's heartening to see long-standing players who have quietly contributed to the game over the years, even without active forum or in-game engagement. Recognizing and rewarding these dedicated individuals is a great idea. It would be a meaningful way for Mindark to show appreciation for their loyalty and contributions to the community.
Yes, I agree. They are the silent heroes in my opinion.

Really love this idea!

we already had that post cryengine 2 - it was on memorial island where you could visit two graves - one was from Island Girl the Girlfriend of Neverdie and one was a little Baby of one of the players which sadly died... both where with a Video you could watch to remember them.... people would go there and decorate the graves .. with small stuff like bubbles of mind essence to lighten it up and such ... it was never really rebuild as they updated to cry2 :(

I was among the many who would go and decorate occasionally and have kept screenshots from all those years ago to preserve memories. It's sad to visit Memorial Island now, knowing what it once was... but now the interactions are gone and the Island Girl statue is no longer in the pavilion it's been abandoned. I don't know if they removed the statue since ND added her likeness into Next Island or if it was because the avatar was from the old days and no longer fits the aesthetics of the world. I remember there being some people that didn't like the idea of Memorial Island and instead brought up the idea of a Memorial Wall all the way back then, but we've sadly never gotten it.

What I think would be really heartwarming would be adding a terminal in the pavilion that could spawn a copy of the avatar of a dead player, maybe have it automatically despawn once the person who triggered it moves a certain distance away. The families or friends of the deceased could sent MA proof of their passing and MA could lock out the account and preserve the avatar in its last logged-in state for the shrine. It's not a video tribute, but it's a memorial that would allow the friends and family of the player to spend time with them any time.

We used to have the CRA armor sets for this many many moons ago, but sadly I don't think that's possible anymore. I mean, I'd love a set for sure but it will never happen.

Maybe some account bound untradable reward would be nice, but again I just don't think MA and their dev team have the time or volition to do it.

Good suggestion though ;)

Mentor rewards could do with some update, having rewards from days of old still there seems wrong.

Maybe upgrades possible for mentor items could be way forwards, like the oldskool item upgrade chains maybe could be a way to go. Or just rework them all to current system, or mentor tokens.

As for Player loyalty, perhaps non tradeable cosmetics that pop up after play hours online for approx 1,5,10,15,20,25 years play time @ say 6 hours=1day. A nice snazzy outfit set perhaps.

No effect on economy (avatar bound), and is just cool points.

I love this.. maybe a memorial garden somewhere or a place of rest where others could go and visit. Such an amazing suggestion... ty 🤗
