Well folks... now my only method of deposit (Visa and Mastercard Gift Cards) has been squashed with the new VU! I've depo'd 33k PEDs using this method in 6 mths, and now they've hand cuffed me. This is the last straw. If they don't rectify the situation within 24 hrs, I will be quitting as I can no longer enjoy the service if I cannot deposit at my convenience.
Support case sent, I will let you's know of the response... I'm thinking...

"We are sorry for the inconvenience, however our deposit system is "Dynamic" we're sure you'll have better luck adding a card next time."

they locked you for depositing in your normal way?

its a known bug when did you do it? as I've depo'ed since i was unlocked and it went ok

EDIT ah i see the pic now, what can i say no fucking QA what so ever

I take it that you keep buying prepaid VISA cards? If so, can't you just get a reloadable one?
 
are you saying that the deposit method you use is no longer available? it seems from the ss that the amount of times you have deposited this way has exceeded its weekly limit, not stopped forever:scratch2:
 
Sol has no idea what a Visa Gift Card is... but it sounds spooky.

Ill go on fourth year with my perm Visa - always good for a fast 2-second 1k peds stack :ahh:
 
Not only is your responce to the problem far from the actual problem, but also i find it very immature and childish. Try have a good look at your situation and see if not its a bit onproportional to give them 24 hours notice on a friday ?

Oh and no its not a personal attack, since i have no clue who you are, even so ill give you a "im sorry" for free if you should fail to see that im right and so that this dosnt end up being about that.

How many cards did you add? Too many in one week???... sounds like a lot? I think the website only lets you add up to 3 cards at any point in time before you have to delete one and add a new one in it's place? The only reason I know this is I've used Visa gift cards before too. I've never used mastercard... didn't even know the website took mastercard. I suspect it's a limit MA put in there to avoid criminals using stolen credit cards... but could be wrong? If you can prove to support that they are legit, maybe they can lift the limit for you?

Depositing is dynamic in regards to method and availabilty at any given time... is it confirmed wether you had max cards or depo limt or what ???...your post doen't give enough info.. there has been fualts recently and don'tr expect a fix overnight..can take 3-7 working days...do not count weekends

Did it ever occur to you that it's probably just a safeguard that's in place to keep people who steal credit cards from using Entropia as a means to convert stolen credit cards into cash?

Hmm... show me in the VU Content List where this new "limit" is mentioned and I'll agree with you. I've used sometimes up to 10 cards per week in the past, so this "Limit" is new this VU. They gave me no notice, so me giving them 24 hrs is a HELL of alot more than I got.

As far as other "options" goes.... I live in a very small town back in the bush. I have a re-loadable Credit Card as well as a "Real" credit card. Reloadable card can ONLY be re-loaded in a city which is 2.5 hrs away (At Money Mart which we don't have in town) and I will not use my "real" credit card because I shouldn't have to. I'm not filthy rich, so I budget my spending in-game, and that is easier to do by buying the gift cards. I procrastinate, and really don't pay attention to finances very well.. so I can foresee my real credit card becoming a problem for me. It gets used for emergencies only.

Did it ever occur to you that it's probably just a safeguard that's in place to keep people who steal credit cards from using Entropia as a means to convert stolen credit cards into cash?

Yes, that has occurred to me. However, I've used so many cards in the past and NOT ONE came back as being a problem... I know this because they were all legit gift cards. So.. if I now am going to have to change my depo habits because someone.... somewhere... some day... might.... or might have used stolen credit cards.. then I guess a game with a RCE isn't for me.
 
As does a casino, MA needs to identify and specially cater to their "whales" cause they is where a huge chunk of their operating income comes from....

At the risk of sounding like an ass, maybe this is a good opportunity to train yourself to manage your finances better? I applaud you for being very careful with your finances though. A lot of people are not. I think having that mentality going in is the right mentality to have. I use a credit card when I deposit, but my own personal rule is to never put ANYTHING on my credit card unless I physically have the money at that time. That way I can pay the credit card off every month the bill comes. Paying it off means no interest, the credit card companies make virtually nothing off me, and my money can sit in my bank account for an extra month collecting interest :)

I don't consider myself a "whale" or a "big fish" by any means.... however, averaging $8000-$10000 Canadian worth of deposits over the course of a year is (as far as I'm concerned) a respectable amount of money. I believe it is an amount of money which is large enough that people who deposit this way (I have 4 personal real life friends who depo more than me and use the same gift cards) requires that SOMETHING should be done to accommodate this style of deposit.
If the 5 of us quit playing due to this (I'm not speaking for my 4 friends.. just making an example), then that's about $60,000.00 Canadian taken out of the game.... so potentially up to 500,000.00 PEDs GONE from the loot pool from 5 people alone! Are the rest of you willing to accept that loss??? Or depo more to make up for it?
You tell me... has the loot been that good for you that you have no problems losing potentially millions of PEDs (from the loot pool) because 20 regular depositors quit because of this?
Again... I'm not speaking for anyone but myself... but you have to put it in perspective here.... and this is the reality of it.

I added a card on Monday and a card yesterday... so no more than 2 allowed per week I guess.

Use any of the other available methods that accept creditcards... problem solved within seconds!

One thought came to mind when I read this post....

Thought: This man needs to get a life.

Yes, I know that seems a bit much, but really? 8-10 thousand dollars a year into a game? Are you investing like Neverdie and others have done, or is this what it is costing you to play a video game? I can personally recommend several other games that are, in my opinion, much more fun, just as socially interactive and cost a whole lot less.


I realize that some people have more expendable cash than others and that's for each person to decide for themselves, but you had admitted of your own accord that your finances are not your main priority. That is also evident from your indications as to how much money you are throwing away on EU on an annual basis.

I think that perhaps you should view the new security measure as a wake-up call. If you are trying to add a dozen new gift cards in a month to your account so you can keep throwing money away, then perhaps you should take stock of your priorities. If your priorities are where you want them, then purchase bigger gift cards, or get a card that you can simply reload so you don't have to mess about with the adding new cards all the time.

Either way, I am sure the system has limits set for a purpose. Your flying off the handle and making demands of MA to "fix it" without understanding the purpose behind those limits is as foolish, in my opinion, and spending 10 thousand dollars a year on the EU.
