Newbie Oil Rig Field Trip II !

New armour new weapons, new tp chip Im suited and booted just need a emt-em2600 anyone know someone selling???

And for any noobs worried about Pkers grab a weapon and some ammor (no you cant sweat pk'ers ;) and help us take them out, at some stages with enough noobs even 1 point dmg by 50 people is 50 dmg :) so you could serve the killing blow :), don't have the money for weapons get sweating now because this will be an event not to be missed.

Now I best get back to my assignment its in sunday and I dont want to have to spend Saturday doing it :(

I saw a couple of EK-2600's in auction last night. Not sure what the prices were since I wasn't buying, but check there.

I picked up one recently from Buzz's shop on the ground foor at Twin Peaks. It was slightly cheaper compared to auction to.

TP Running

Attached is a list of names from those that have volunteered to help with the oilrig TP running so far. A PM has been sent to you all. Some of you contacted me directly others were via Mikah or Arokh. Can you please confirm by PM whether you are still available for the Sat Evening. So far thats 16 People (inc myself) 8 teams of 2. Then Arokh and Soundboy joining us later. Some will be joining us later than others. Details are all on the PM.

Sadly I have been informed by wife that the granddaughters Bday party is going to be at 3pm Sat. As the women in my life rule on the weekends, I do not think I will be able to attend though I plan to be at Phoneix a little early just in case I can help. Far as pk'ers go,, I might be able to find a soc m8 that is attending and able to use ml 35 effectively :) Damn damn damn, I wanna be there for the fun :(

Well I'm sure the event will last a good few hours, even if that's just because we are trying to get everyone back to a TP ;) Hope you get to make it at some point.

Record them - completely cut yourself off from all other human life. Come to the rig and then go back and watch them - you'll never know the difference :)

I have now discovered that my tp running duties mean that I will be seeing even less of the rig than I thought. I am hoping that someone else is planning to record a video, as it would be nice to watch how the event I am helping with turns out. ;)
 
As has been mentioned many times before in this thread, there will be a group of players at the outposts offering to escort people to safety. However, if you decide to hang around the oil rig area for a few hours after the event and miss your chance to be rescued, you may find the following maps to be of use:



This first map shows how to escape from the southern outpost. Just follow the light green path along the coast westwards until you cross into the Twin Peaks revival zone, then just press T to teleport to safety. If you end up at the north-west outpost for any reason, just run a few hundred metres west and you will again enter the Twin Peaks revival zone.



This second map shows how to escape from the northern outpost (accessed if you have wandered too far north or east from the rig). Just run north along the lake shore and you will soon enter the Nympthtown revival area.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have been asked so many basic questions by people wanting to participate; here are the most FAQs and answers!


#1. Where do I need to go?

ANSWER: Go to the revival building EAST of the TP at Camp Pheonix. We will congregate there, and I will be giving further instructions there.


#2. When do I need to be there?

ANSWER: I highly recommend that you beat the rush and be at the revival terminal by 18:30 Calypso time. There will be further instructions given - beginning then.


#3. Why do I need to take off all my armor and sheath all my weapons?

ANSWER: We all need to be in our OJ's for indentification. Your armor will not help any if an Atrox wants you for dinner! You will not impress anyone out there in your Pixie or Goblin, and why incur the decay costs?


#4. Am I going to die at the Oil Rig?

ANSWER: Yes - but it will be a good day to die!

Seriously, if we all behave, most of us will live long enough to
experience all the things that occur out there. And don't worry,
we will all revive at the same outpost and run back to Twin Peaks



#5. Will I be able to collect some oil?

ANSWER: No - but you get a quick and free ride out to the oil rig; and you will get to see some awesome firepower displayed and you will have the added opportunity to pick up the Twin Peaks TP!


#6. Why do I want to participate?

ANSWER: It costs about 8 PED to establish a wormhole! You will get to experience this thrill for free. You will get a free 'look see' at the oil rig, and if you pay attention, you will get to witness some very large mobs being killed while they try to attack and eat us! And when we reassemble outside the oil rig area, you will be offered a free TP run back West to Twin Peaks.

#7. How long will this whole thrilling adventure last?

ANSWER: We will start the wormhole event right at 19:00 Calypso time.
You should plan to be back at Twin Peaks by 20:30 Calypso time.

I have managed to break my GC and can no longer log into entropia :(

I have submitted a support case but am not likely to get a new reader before the weekend :( so unless a miracle happens looks like I have to sit this out
 
Damn i really hope this event is still goin when i get home from work!!! Will be in around 21.30MA time and for 1 night only will do my best to keep OJ's alive at the rig..... so feel free to stay if its all over before then :wtg: :wtg:

Gentlemen who usually stand at the rig seems not too friendly with newcomers.
Anyway ill there with my poor skills to protect OJ.

I only managed to kill my first Alpha trox the other day.

I am very sorry Arokh, Xantonia and Mikah etc etc, but a family thing has cropped up and I am going to be unable to make it. I very much would have liked to be part of this event :(
