One of the Best Hovis Ads...

For those of you who don't get the chance to see them. Hovis is a UK-based bakery that also produces some of the best ads on TV.

This one is a prime example:

Great advert, I hadn't seen that before.

Hovis always used to use the New World Symphony as music in their ads (as in the one Stinky posted). Many years ago my Grandad was treasurer of the Ashington Colliery Band, and Hovis approached him to ask if they could use a recording of the New World Symphony by the band.

He sold them the buy-out rights for £50, and that recording became the music used in the first New World Hovis ads. They continued to use the same recording for another 20 years or so.

Not the world's greatest business deal by my Grandad there...
