News: Technical Showcase of Imported Worlds in Unreal Engine

that glimpse into migration is an interesting sight, would be amazing to see the mobs actually migrate and move thru the path instead of a static spawns.

looking fwd for more clips like this, gj

That looks really cool. Hopefully this gets implemented as soon as possible.

Love it!...and what Arthur said! :beerchug:

wow, this looks really amazing, the colours and the world look so refreshing and pleasant to the eye

Looks good, now you just gotta let the rest of us play it :p

Looks fantastic!! 😍 Thank you for sharing! Any idea what the ETA is looking like on this? I can't wait for the engine upgrade.

When this comes out, you got my $, MA 😉 can't wait for release.

Looks great, can't wait :)

Reminds me of Halo 3 the way the pov is filmed/shot. I hated Halo 3, so I really hope it won't be the same. 😂 The rest looks nice.

Other thread locked due to Bertha finding first gear and posting a new thread. I assume I'm allowed to repost my comment, which quickly got a few likes:

"Thanks. Also good to see the small detail of the title that we are talking about an imported world here, not an entirely newly created one."

The text in this new post: "The following video is a showcase of the result from work we undertook in developing custom convertors and plugins allowing us to easily import the existing game world you all know and recognise into the Unreal Client."
This suggests that the whole world is, or can be, quickly available for visiting visually, but maybe underlying features are not integrated yet, i.e. stuff that is not purely visual.
Is MA planning to allow us camera or avatar free-roam access to certain areas as an unfunctional view-only demo?
This would also be a test of the login environment and possible individual avatar looks, unless a generic avatar (m/f?) is used.

this is the excitement we need to bring back people that will invest and stimulate the economy again.

Management and the stake holders approve this.

Let's see, which parts we'll get to play with.

While it's good to see some showcase of the work MA is doing, realistically speaking this does not look much different to what CryEngine provides now.
So if we will just change engine to have (almost) same looks then it's waste of time and money IMO.

With that said, I hope we will 'see' real benefits of more modern engine. Usually this would be stuff that is not visible, so until we get release and follows ups we will not know if UE5 will make indeed job easier for MA and if we will get more content faster with less devs....
Time will telll.

Show us more though!

UE5 will allow MA to update the game with new content more hasslefree and with less bugs. It will be easier for them to deliver updates since everything will be in a modern engine. In the end this means more content for us and hopefully better quality content as well with little to no bugs.
