Welcome to ARIS!

Its like entering a shop and demanding to know personal information of the owner so you can decide if you gonna purchase something in there or not.
Where i live youd be kicked out faster than you can blink. I guess its different in other places.
the difference being we have no clue whats hidden in that shop, and the owners expect us to spend a lot of money to discover whats inside :)

A buisiness is public domain, when a business gets a rep for shitty services people vote with thier wallets. If business gets a good rep people want to spend thier money there. From what ive gathered on these pages his rep isnt starting out well..nobody asked for his first born child.

But you know the store name that you go into correct? You can google them or look up yelp reviews no? Are you purposefully being obtuse or was this a thing throughout school as well?
I just go to a store. Unless there is a public available information, required by law, that transcendes a mere subjective evaluation of the owner, i have no right to question their identity or background.

you do though that's the thing lol

Are we asking who the owner is? No, we are asking what company or group of people, gang, whatever the fuck you want to call it, owns this new moon.

Once again, Obtuse to just be obtuse. Or maybe lack of common sense.

Or maybe a simple difference of culture.

No, it's that your scenario, you LITERALLY KNOW THE NAME OF THE STORE. You can google the store, you can see what other people think of the store.

How is this so difficult to understand? This isn't a culture thing. I go into any country and I go into a REAL business. I can find out 99% of everything about that business.

Businesses that are NOT real, you don't know information. Why? They are shady? They do business under the table? etc

none of your business, you're not even playing the game, so shush shush

well now i dont think its anything shady...lets not assume bad intentions lol thats a bit ridiculous

It must be, I can't think of a single place I shop at, that I don't know who owns it, most companies are public record and can be researched with a a quick Google search.
Public records a vague if anything. What could you find there, that would change your mind to go to this store, that you wouldnt find in your local news?

It's literally a customers business. You of all people who even know how to make a working website should be able to understand this.

I do play the game, I log in every single day, multiple times a day.

Read the whole comment instead of just a little bit. I never said this company was shady, because I don't even know if it IS a company. None of us do, because they are purposefully ignoring those questions.

Why not answer a question if you don't have something to hide though?

Like others have said, public perception is already not amazing.

It's 2025 being an informed consumer is your right, you can choose not to exercise it. But to act like it's not or shouldn't be an option, is rather oblivious to the world around us.
Oh, and how many shops, in your area, did you skip while been an "informed consumer"?

Who else do they do business with? Do they have good customer support? Are they nice to their customers? Are they homophobic, racist, etc. towards certain groups of people that they refuse to do business with?

You are purposefully choosing to be an ignorant customer then. Which I don't know why someone would want to purposefully be ignorant. Makes no sense to me.

I don't shop at Walmart because I'm informed and do not agree with their business practices, I could make a list of places I don't shop or won't support, starting at Walmart and ending with the bar owned by a white supremacy group. However my selection process is not of concern...

Why this entity wants to remain in the shadows is.

In where i am, you are not allowed to have access to a business information (of who deals with who). Every other question cannot be applied to a single planet within EU, since you already know the customer service, TOU, etc.
Pretending to be informed, in a current world and legislation, doesnt add too much value unless you aim to push a specific political agenda. Which would be bad for the business.

Agreed and for reference, we see that people boycotting companies due to (insert reason here) works.
Target has lost about $1 billion in sales this last quarter and stock has dropped over $12b of value this year.(Numbers from a month ago)

Maybe don't allow vehicles to enter buildings.

And to keep perspective in game terms, I know people in game that chose not to visit rocktopia because of not agreeing with neverdie. The same could be said about Calypso and arkadia.

Well then, maybe we should wait and see what those people actually do, and only after put a tag on them?

Correct, there's multiple people who refuse to go to Arkadia due to their history as well as 2 of their most important missions being untraceable objects (armor/flying vehicle)
Others don't support Toulan due to certain employees who work there and some religious beliefs.
Some Don't support Rocktropia due to ND.
Some don't support Cyrene due to....well I'm sure there's a reason. Only one I've heard of is "bad loot" and "too much residue"
Some don't support Caly cause they don't like the boring loot.
Some don't support NI/AG cause they don't really have anything to do unless you're a noob or an uber and most crystals are useless.

The point is, ALL of those and many more reasons are completely valid because that's the whole point of a free market/economy.

No one is putting a tag on them, instead people are telling them what it LOOKS like BECAUSE we know NOTHING about this "Company"

So if i went off the info we've been given, there is/was a Hyperion Enterprise that was found guilty of forex currency manipulation, less than a year ago. So im just gonna go with that since i dont know any different. Not a business im going to support.

They have already claimed to have been in this universe before now, so I for one want to know what they have already done.

Arent you asking for that info in order to put a certain tag, like approved/disapproved?
I certainly see why they want to keep it neutral. There are people already in queu for a crusade.
Anyhow, lets agree to disagree on this one.

I am asking for information and nothing more. You keep harping on something that isn't there.

As someone who bases their decisions on information. I would like to know more about a company before I decide if I want to support them or not.

I am not someone who throws money in the wind without knowing they have strong chance of getting something in return. That's been my whole idea and mantra since day 1 of starting this game. Reading, researching, learning even before putting a dollar in and deciding to make this game be a way I make money. Now until the game dies, I will be able to make money by just logging in a couple times a day. Just as I've done for other games as well. Now with the INFORMATION I've gained, I now have multiple passive incomes coming in for VIDEOGAMES. This is ignoring any IRL investments etc and that would not have been possible unless I gathered and learned about INFORMATION.

The activity is currently really high here, and I have written above, so am already a part of it.
My further opinion. We can ask questions and see what answers we get. We can decide not to visit if we want, or even leave the whole universe. That is our right for our own decisions, not anybody else's.
I wrote my own thoughts that may lead to my own actions. I think it is somewhat fair if I refuse an offer that may be in good faith to say why it is that I am refusing, if I decide to do so. I don't have to say why I'm not 'entering the shop', but if there is not much footfall, then the owner may have some idea of why - and decide what to do if they want to.
edit: overall I dislike campaigning against individual companies these days based on notions that may be 'bubbled madness'. I don't see that we are campaigning, though - I haven't even reached a decision, just agreeing with others that my sentiment is also not doubt-free.
