Okay, I have now been resurrected from the strain from the first massive Q&A. I now gather Q's for the second one for about two weeks or so. These questions will be directed to the Lead Programmers of the dev team, so please keep the Q's in that area. One Question per person, please. And remember that somethings of course won't be divulge due to business secrets. Once I get the Q's, I reckon it will take about two weeks for them to answer.

Yay first! :D

But ok here goes.. and it's the same one i asked last time. Why i'm askign is due to either the mining amps are bugged, or the community should get an explanation.

As it seems now a lot of players including very skilled miners dont use a lot of amps due to the reason that you find less claims with them. Yes they increase the few claim sizes you do find but it sure make you find less claims. So are they bugged or can we atleast get some kind of explanation as to why we find less claims when using an amp that is supposed to increase your efficiency with xx%.
 
What kind of programming and other improvements are coming regarding PvP and future Land Grabs? (PVP framing, reviving after being killed, timing of LG, jumping, target box etc.)

Bugs

Why dose the chat bug keep coming back. The one that says I can’t chat in the soc. Or for that matter why dose any bug come back after a fix or a new VU. Some of these bugs we have seen for many, many VU's. :(

Please make them appropriate for programmers

Don't ask balancing questions, people (Arc0). First of all you know that they will just get the cut-and-paste answer 'we can't reveal game dynamics information', second of all, this Q&A is for the programmers.

My one question....how to use it, hmm. :confused:

Ok ViagraFalls asked my other question so i'll go back to the question i had on the last Q&A that wasn't answered because Marco didn't know the answer:

Are there currently specific plans to parallelize EU so that the complete freezes while eg opening storage, auction, inventory, map, skills, etc etc etc, don't happen, and so that the bigger and more complex client each VU can run optimally on new processors (70% CPUs from Intel will be multicore by year's end)? If not, why not, and if so, when?

Why does the soc chat bug go away, then reappear, then go away again, then reappear, then go away again, then reappear...
 
Beauty profession question:

Have party colours been implimented yet, or is it just a case that no one has yet reached the necessary skill level to unlock them?

How long will the NPCs be quiete [???]-boxes and when will they finally become an important part of PE ? Hadesheim anyone ? :p
 
Would it be possible to implement the functions of PE-Ass into the universe so people was not forced to Alt-tab or use forbidden software when they wanted to calculate or check up something ?
 
My same question from last time, which was not included in 'the list'

Are there any plans to make storage boxes more useful? What I mean is, it would make much more sense for them to contain 'squares' like the inventory or storage, rather than overlapping everything like the loot window. On a related note, is there any thoughts on fixing it so that what you put into storage/inventory/boxes doesn't re-arrange itself seemingly for no reason.
 
I am not sure this belongs to the respective area since I have no idea what lead programmers do, but I'll give it a try:

It is possible to implement an in-game option to disable global announcements? And this to have at its turn two check marks: own global announcements & other global announcements. I would really enjoy to not be spammed by purple useless text.
 
Can we expect inventory improvements. Such as borders of item or different solution (now when u want to place item in storage it seem it will feed there but when u actually do the item goes elsewhere), categorizing items, changing armor sets per 1 clicks
 
Visualize skills

Q: Can we have skills or proffesional ranks more "outside visible" ?

I mean some new fancy movement, gestures, emotes or combat animations available only at certain skill level (like some kung-fu moves after unlocking martial arts) ? Maybe when you gain "strength" your avatar gains muscles ?
Simply - make skilled players look like skilled players :)

(Graet idea, isnt it ? Feel free to implement ;) )
 
Is it possible in the future to perhaps make your claim rods appear on radar, would be especially useful in areas with heavy vegetation.
 
Is it gonna be possible in the future to run EU in windowed mode in order to be able to surf PE related websites while playing without being logged out ?

would it be possible to make storage facilities to have sorting like in inventory.
armors, faps,quipement, stackable items

and maybe to give some use to those 1,2,3,4,5 numbers in inventory and also implement this into storage to.

As it is now it's a to much chaos for me.

Howmany programmers are there? Howmany senior developers, junior developers, male, female? Are some working on new features while others are fixing bugs?

In other words: programmers, tell a little something about yourself and your team.
 
Q: Will the AI for mobs be fixed so that hunters who are NOT trying to trap them will not have to suffer for mobs trapping themselves and/or getting trapped for seemingly no reason?
Fx by having the mobs instantly exiting trapped state when they are able to attack the player (and thus have no reason to be in the trapped state).
 
Question: Are there any possibilities to have a option with auto-looting
in normal hunting too, and/or a action to close the lootwindow in the ActionLibrary?
 
Q: Will there be a new profession in the near future to become a bountyhunter?
Let's say that a reputation system is implented, and when a avatars reputation is below 0 or he/she broke some sort of "law" inside the game that this avatar can be hunted for a reward for a goverment/police/or for someone which that avatar has broken a "deal" with.

I would love to become one :D
 
At the moment we are able to walk through most solid rocks and trees. And objects that are solid, cause allot of "mob is trapped" situations.

Q - When is collsion detection going to be fixed, or the interaction with the enviroment in general? (and together with that, a decent anti trapping fix?). What is the current status of it on the test servers?
 
Q: How many Coder there in MA (programer).Best would be to have som info of the whole developing crew (coder , graph , balancing ...).
 
Why can't skill levels be accesible from the EU website like the avatar inventory? I would like to be able to go to a web page to view my skill progress rather than the cumbersome interface in game.

There is a discussion in science in general about these two words: method and methodology. They are widely used as synonyms, although many authors believe it to be important to draw a difference between the two.

i miss a seemingly simple addition:

why can i /s talk into soc chat from team/all chat, /t talk from soc/all chat, but not /a talk from soc/team chat to all chat?

if i could, i'd never ever use the all chat tab again...
 
Q: I've heard that you weren't happy with the current game engine (gamebryo). You've said that we would soon have a new graphic and physics engine. Can we have more details about that ? What is going to be the next engine ? House made, or something else ?
 
Q: Is there a plan on adding the proffesion of gardener or peasant? You know, growing crops to boost certain attributes of an avatar when they eat or smoke the harvested plants... I think taking care of the plants would be the most stress relief job/proffesion in eu. Also, this proffesion could add a function to the land that the house/land owners have.:D
