Hurrikane WoF Appreciation Party

Hello my fellow WoFers and indeed WoF support specialists and spectators!

I am hereby anouncing a party to honour Hurrikane, our WoF organiser, by holding this appreciation party.

The party is going to be held on:
Friday 18th May 2007
20:00 MA Time
At Treasure Island Castle, TI Central TP

The time is, as yet, undecided due to finding out what time slots are available on the day due to the ongoing WoF event.

Where will the party be?

If Deathifier has no objections, I am looking to hold the party at TI castle, which has been a great venue in the past.

What's going on at the appreciation party?

  • Best outfit on the day competition.
  • Best dancer competition.
  • Entropia Quiz
  • Find the treasure competition.
  • Speech (yawn :laugh:)
  • Appreciation Hogglo hunt - full 12 person teams with team name "WoF: Thanks Hurrikane"

As the self appointed collection manager for contributions to Hurrikane, I will be taking this opportunity to accept donations for Hurrikane. When the WoF event is over, I will be putting those donated peds to good use in purchasing Hurrikane an item or several items (dependant upon donations.) The item or items will then be presented to Hurrikane at the presentation ceremony held with the MindArk officials.

For those who feel they need it, details of the donations and purchased items can be provided on request after the presentation of items to Hurrikane.

On this thread, I would firstly and foremostly like everyone to put their mark on the thread for bumps, for confirmations of attendance and also, if you are interested in being a judge for the Best outfit and Best dancer competitions please say so, alternatively you can PM me, although all judges will be anounced.

If you wish to donate a prize for the party competition, please PM me with the details.

Please note:

To allow the party to proceed smoothly, please can I request that chat remain quiet when a party official shouts "QUIET PLEASE."

This will allow people to follow any important chat messages without them getting lost in spam :)... I mean valued conversations :)

Party Officials:

If I've missed anything, I'm sure someone will point it out to me :laugh:


EDIT: Due to a clash with the Liverpool Real Life meet, I've moved the party to the Friday 18th May 2007.

This is a very good idea I like it alot, if I'm online I'll for sure be there and bla bla with everyone and shout the hurray for Hurrikane =)

I'm thinking we could also take the appreciation hunt to several LAs also. Hogglo can be a bit boring after a while :laugh:

It's on the day after the WoF Final dude not this Sunday ;)
 
With regard to donations, no need to mention them here guys, just present on the day :)

I will log all donations which eventually be stored in a file. Those who wish to see the data can ask for it, for their own piece of mind with regard to the security of their donations. Those who wish to remain anonymous in their donations need only say so when passing on the donation to me.

C'mon people, leave your mark :)

Oh, ok... since we are trying to keep it low-profile... just cancel my "official" donation and I will hook up with you later to make one under the wire... if you get my drift.

Hi Ak,

Wonderful idea...

Were doing a big UK meet up that weekend - 40 players will be busy, & most would love to come to the party - is there another day thats suitable at all.

I met H in London @ the last meet up among many others, its a big weekend & a one off organized one.... Its gonna be so difficult to do both...

Dilemma, if I make it earlier, it could only be the Saturday.

Clam, what time is the Final penciled in for, any idea?
 
While you're at it, when you cancel my soc mate BlackRain's official donation post, cancel mine too that I didn't make that matches his. :D See you when I see you! ;)

This is a great initiative on your part AB, and I'm sure it'll all turn out wonderful. Now, with regard to spamming the forum :whip: ... consider yourself MS9'd! :laugh:

Just to clarify;

Item Prize donations for the Competitions at the party need to be be sorted out before the Saturday (penciled as new date for the party.)

PED Donations toward Hurrikane need only be handed to me on that at the party, I will set aside some time while people are mingling for the bulk of people to do this.

Great idea Akiran for this thread and lets hope this party is insane. Now MA are donating to Hurrikane for his efforts and if there is a pool of PED to pass on I'm sure it will be appreciated.
I thought I'd lend my observations about Hurrikane's work on the WoF (and Jboy's for the amount of hours doing all the fantastic graphics). They are both my RL friends so I feel I can comment on the effort they put into this. Firstly Hurrikane never did this for fame or money (He's been running the WoF for over a year, and never expected the FoF to be as big as it is), he just enjoys the experience of getting the player base together to make his own experience of EU better.
If you could see the dedication and hours put in to organising this event, developing the idea, making it as fair as possible, contacting people, judging the rounds, falling asleap at the keyboard, writing things down, passing info on, listening to discontent and using the time he would usually spend doing his RL stuff or playing EU to make it work, you would take your hat off to him.
EU, being a player lead "game/universe", has the possibilities to allow its participants to create the world they choose to be in. So to bring the community together in such a way is a great feat.
So well done Hurrikane.
As a side note... Big up Jboy. He has spent many days and weeks creating the graphics that give the whole event a very proffesional feel it deserves.
This whole concept will, atleast, bring people together and make EU a more interesting place to be:) :) :)
 
Yes, it's this hard work we are looking to reward. He thinks I'm just organising a get together rather than a full on party etc. He'll have a pleasent surprise when he returns from his vacation. :)

Sorry, I havn't got a clue mate, but I would imagine it would be about 16:00 ish MA time. I guess it depends on the finalists. I'll guess we'll know more after Sunday ;)
