"Calypso" armor on Rocktropia

apparently parts of the following have been looted :
  • Pixie
  • Gnome
  • Shogun
  • Hunter
  • Paladin

I thought these were Calypso items? Or are these generics to be found anywhere? Will the thigh guards noe become a export to Calypso, if / when these are looted?

Hanne, if you see this, some clarification on Calypso vs platform items would be nice.
 
Have not seen any Pixie or Gnome mobs on Calypso even though the armor is there... so I'm guessing they show up on all planets?... Maybe you can talk Neverdie in to creating Pixies and Gnomes to wander around on RT somewhere?
 
I guess NDS where too lazy to make their own stuff so they had to throw some default stuff in to avoid leaving the noobs naked. :)

Well, part of the thing is - are these generics or Calypso items? If these are generics, then which ones are calypso items?
 
Not only they are on RT and NI... they also drop more than often... not uncommon, not rare... really often...

I wonder if this means all our Tiger, Nemesis, Vigilante and what else will drop now more often too...
 
I suppose someone has to save the lack of creativity some design labs have...
This is so sad... to have a planet with loot from another one. Is not bad. Will not affect much the gameplay. Just story line. But we never had one anyway. So who cares?
 
May be this is MA's way for getting more players to go there and start the economies?
 
Looted more than 20 armor parts in just a few hours... Pixie, Hunter, Shogun, Gnome, Kobold, Paladin... all at very low tt


The amount of armor parts looted was nearly equal to the amount of kills during one hunt :wise:

List:
Face: Pixie
Harness: Pixie
Arm: Gnome, Pixie, Kobold, Gremlin
Glove: Gnome, Knight, Shogun, Pixie
Thighs: Kobold, Gnome
Shins: Shogun, Paladin, Hunter
Feet: Kobold, Gnome

Hunted a lot of different mobs...

why do I get the feeling they've slightly messed up the drop frequency :scratch2: they've certainly admitted to it in the past.

or could it be a cynical attempt to get people to deposit vast amounts of cash in the hope of looting a full set.

Even on Calypso when those drops weren't rare they didn't drop that often.

edit: maybe it is another screw up on the loot, after what happened with sweat.

totally wrong!!
Fact is NDS hasnt been given the ability by MA to make there own armour. only plates. And to be fair Rocktropia and NI need participants especially new participants should be able to loot newbie armour.

but why is there a new armor set on cyrene screenshot which is not even released yet but NDS has none?
To me it doesn't make sense but ok maybe it does to you or u have more information... what do I know.

Doesn't really make sense... as NeverDie has also said they were working on armor before :silly2:

If I were SDS / FPC, I would be suing the balls off NDS / whoever the fuck owns NI.

What about RockTropia?

Besides, it still has to be MindArk saying OK to them dropping there + maybe they have a deal with FPC? Would be nice to hear some official word on this... starting to feel like the sweat mining bug.
 
Hanne made an interesting comment not too long ago to the effect that the Pitbull is a Calypso-exclusive vehicle made by FPC (as they were at the time) while the other vehicles were generic vehicles made by MA.

So this means two things:

1. MA still create content.
2. Some items are generic and will be available on multiple or all planets.
 
Ma controls the loot so I'm guessing they also control the rate of dropping. I'm going to take a guess that these rapid drops will not last long.

When FPC bought PC from MA, they must have (unless they are raving idiots) bought all the PC IP aswell. Which must (unless they are raving idiots) include all items, such as armour. If they own that, they as a company they should be putting their assets on their income generating place (PC), so people interested in say, Paladin thighs, hunt for them on PC.

It doesn't really matter at the moment (very few give a shit about these armours) but what happens if a piece of shadow, senti, supra drops on RT/NI?

tl;dr, FPC / SDS are raving idiots if they own just the planet and no IP to go with. If they own the IP, they should sue for loss of income. On a side note, acronyms, acronyms everywhere.

There's mentions of a server reset in the ES500 thread, about 9pm last night. This might have been to change the settings.

Fear? I'm was not worried, I was disgusted, as for the reasons I stated. And a bit hysterical too. Its a good thing that these do loot, just would be nice if these did get reassigned to some Calypso mob too.

The "which items are platform and which are Calypso" is rather open still though.

But since MA controls the loot it should be clear that MA owns those items or they would not be dropping. If MA does not own those items then SDS should be suing MA. I doubt we will see anything better then Rascal drop though, just basic low level armours.

As I said, if SDS do not own all Calypso Intellectual Property, they are raving idiots. When NDS release new items (JulesMCKILLA ONEONEONEONE RAWK) NDS own them. MA just facilitates their implementation through its balancing manager.

If SDS don't own the IP for calypso items then.. well, let's just say I think the value of PC just went down a bit seeing as someone could make "Calypfaux" and just have shadow armour and mod mercs dropping from "Amfakimax"'s
 
Aio, I may be mistaken but as far as I know the only Calypso specific item i have heard of so far is the Pitbull (and mob specific named parts, skins etc...)

Look for the ones with the Initials UU over thier head, the spawn seems to be fairly heavy. (atleast compared to anything ive seen on rocktropia before)
