well, well well. some people are going to be pissied and some people are going to be really happy.

limited is king for the avarage player and always have been. would be nice to get a list of which items are going to be restocked before people decide to invest in buying other people tokens. would stuck to buy tokens for 10k->100k and for it to only be low level guns left in restock

I only had time to kill s few hundred mobs but must say I appreciate the new and interesting loot, now I don't have to use my TT at all since an even bigger chunk than usual is shrap...

I have a serious question though... For defense, is there a timer on looting mobs? Because my strategy is to kill them as early as possible but it kind of sucks to get nervous and take laps because I don't know if I will loose my loot.
 
I tried Defense, made levels 1 and 2.

MA, why does the Data Interceptor disappears between the levels ?
Only Terminals shoud disappear, not the point to defense.

I think it's default 3 minutes until loot is gone like everywhere else.

That sucks. So only way to play at ones highest possible stage would be to forfeit loot.
 
I'm on Arkadia, trying Defense Mayhem.

MA, is it expected that the TT showing between levels is the Gold Rush one ?
I don't have Arkoins, I just want to buy ammo.
 
Figured I'd try doing mayhem. Just sharing my experience from stage 1
182 kills using setup 84.2% eff 3.64 dpp candy cane & autoloot

79ped ammo 2 ped decay, 48.2 ped tt in loot (all shrap except below). 58.7% return
1 output amplifier component
2 easter boxes
2 mayhem tokens

I understand the 'you didnt shoot enough' but at that rate why bother shooting at all
Really appreciate that new and interesting loot

My Mayhem Assault feedback:
  1. The cleanse areas (the purple bubble) block line of sight, which means you cannot shoot through them. This makes hunting quite difficult, specially due to your choice of primary mob (Eviscerator, see point #2).
  2. Eviscerator hitbox is terrible the moment they bunch up on the player, since they overlap with eachother and our weapon stops working and thus stops dealing damage. This induces a slow walk on our avatar and circling motion on the mobs, becoming unreachable in the end. Terrible experience.
  3. There are still places you can get stuck very easily, just like it happened las summer. You need to work on this please, when we get stuck there's no way to become free and you have to teleport (resetting the instance and losing all progress). Look for rocks and branches near a change in elevation or sloped terrain.
  4. Ammo spent on shielded enemies (Security Nodes and Boss) is completely lost and not returned in loot. Just like we reported multiple times last summer and you still have not fixed this.
  5. Sometimes one or several Security Nodes do NOT spawn in the boss room, making the run unfinishable. This also happened last summer, I'm sure you have multiple support cases about this.
  6. Draw distance on Security Nodes seems to be very low, and the same goes for the Buff Crystals (Proxy). At least in Low/Medium settings which is what I play with.

Thried Assault level one. Got stuck in a wall, T dosnt work. no more for me

I found mayhem a bit confusing but luckily there are socmates. I was in a bad mood and with the completely wrong armor and weapon in inventory yesterday. But I will start with the tips for assault for anyone who hasn't figured it out:

- The pylons/bobbles will remove your debuffs. Standing inside of them is great during the boss.

- The security nodes are close to the gates. For two of the gates they require s climb. If you face the gate then look to your right. The second one on both should be visible to the left and the nodes should be on radar

- Don't be afraid to reroll proxys

- For the boss stand inside pylons. Kill 5-10 mobs, kill a security node and then shoot the boss until it deflects. Repeat. If security nodes reflect then you need to kill a few more mobs.

I didn't get to play mayhem much yesterday because I crashed a lot but here is my takeaway (haven't played any mayhem in ten years)

Assault:
Think it is gonna be fun with the correct armor but the security node bug sucks. Sure you can relog but that is frustrating as hell. In my opinion the mobs have too little HP but I am biased because of my weapon. Evi hitboxes are screwed so need to hotkey the weapon rather than F. The buffs are fun but the debuffs feels unnecessary and the bubbles can't be shot through.


Defense:
I think I would really like this if I didn't have to sacrifice loot. I want to be able to stand there and shoot to protect the thingy but can't make it through 10 waves in three minutes. Everything in the instance should be automatically looted.


Giving it a new go tonight. I saw a soc mate loot some armor but other than that the loot has consisted of more than 95% shrap which wasn't much fun at all. Strongboxes should have a TT of 10 and be opened without a key to avoid the gambling laws. It feels like the tokens are completely useless when checking the vendor.

I did it first time ever I get stuck, I could not even do first stage. I mean maybe I'm too stupid to do so, but wtf, i mean wtf.
This is so wrong that I don't know what to say here. I understand it anti macros or something, should be activate play, but wtf??!!?
If 50 players will do it, that is amazing.

you can see it on radar, otherwise you cant attack mobs that behind the terminal from your point of view

These were the kind of sentiments by the majority of the player base at the time.


This year the player base seem to be have taken a different view - a much more negative view of this kind of approach. See post #36 above for example.



Personally it kind of makes sense they had to diminish supply of Mayhem Tokens as the market is already flooded with them. Which was largely due to short term thinking by MA and quick cash grabs.

To make the event interesting they said they would add new or additional loot presumably with good mark up to make it worth while. The active playstyle required also was in this vein to make it interesting and fun rather than a repetitive gameplay style that was boring. So personally I think they are on the right path even though player perceptions at this moment in time are negative.

Changing the loot is a great idea, and it's good that the Assault game mode has been added. However, I'm sorry to see that the Annihilation mode has been removed. It's true that it was terribly boring and extremely repetitive, but for me it was still ideal—for example, during night shifts I could use the waiting time for some semi-passive gameplay. And maybe I’m not the only one who felt this way. I assume that the 50+ age group isn’t necessarily looking for the thrill of action gaming in Entropia Universe either.

So my request would be to bring back the Annihilation mode for the next Mayhem. I believe it would boost the popularity of the event.
 
Seriously did anyone who did make assault mayhem enjoy it? Like really, its is so wrong, so much bugs, that is surreal, and the award for it is just worthless, so this is over of mayhem, who was lucky enough to take part in previous years get something, and now just rich players would be able to gain any unlimited stuff from it??
this event is just for few again?
Really MindArk people did anyone of you did that mayhem assault and enjoy it?
 
My opinion of any mayhems are really a ped dump unless you use borrowed or guns or rentals to do, I have seen 14 years of this and is a ped dump and you all are ridiculous to spend your money for basically a pyramid scheme basically using your money for low players.

Teams used to be fun in mayhems in societies but now is ridiculous.
 
Did few hours of defence. To be honest, i expected mob loot to have more variety. Not a time to cut corners. A few output comps and 2 Arsonistic Chip 1 (L)s is kinda sad.
 
Once you get used to all the mechanics is getting a lot easier and I think more people will finish it this year / more people could,, if they wished to, each to determine if it's worth it for them or no.
Here's my take on 25, with pretty bad RNG, bad buffs...
