Shop Design Competition

Attention all mall shop owners!

FPC presents a new event for all mall shop owners. As a shop owner in one of the malls, you now have the chance to decorate and fill your shop with content, and organize your shop including your display window in an attractive, stylish manner. There is no need to apply in order to enter the contest; all shops will be judged by an FPC-jury starting on Monday the 21st of September 2009. The winners will be announced on Thursday the 24th of September 2009.

Jury keywords are: ingenuity, attractiveness, composition, design. The jury will NOT consider target groups or item prices.

The prizes:

1st prize - a full set of Unlimited Martial Armor, SGA Edition

2nd prize - a full set of Unlimited Vigliante Armor, SGA Edition

3rd prize - a full set of Unlimited Vigliante Armor, SGA Edition

4th prize - a full set of Unlimited Vigliante Armor, SGA Edition

5th prize - a full set of Unlimited Vigliante Armor, SGA Edition

Also, we will hand out one additional full set of Unlimited Martial Armor, SGA Edition to the mall owner who has got the nicest shops overall. Good luck!

Shops? where are the shops? i thought the Malls were just where all the bouncy doorways were stored.

Um so only for the 'newer' mall shop owners, not for the older shops in apartment buildings or on CND? Nice idea, but should be for all shop owners.
 
Hmmm... if CND counts as mall would be interesting indeed.
I could partake in it then...

umm, so, this is open to just the shop owners that have shops in the Malls :scratch2:

Surely it should be the Owners of the Malls drumming up stuff like this for the people that have shops in their Mall.

So, you buy a Mall, and have FPC dish out juicy prizes to get the people that bought shops off you to jazz their shops up for you.

UnL Martial!! - sounds like a snazzy prize there.
How many shop owners in malls are there ingame at the moment? 20? 30? Pretty small group of people to be the only ones that can win.

All seems a bit half baked to me - trying to simulate the trade in some player owned property, instead of addressing bigger issues.

umm.. awesome.. i'll just throw my non-working PC signs, my gray furniture and a few items here and there... everything should look great!! - ; )

SO lame that they don't fix our signs and furniture... before doing this... our front display area's don't work.. the malls are a mess..

this has got to be the most ridiculous attempt i have seen to get everyone to pay their rent.. lol

EDIT: 10.0.10 fixes the front display area i guess... so now i just need my sign fixed and my furniture fixed...
 
Basically in earlier MA announcement the asteroid got described as including "Biodomes, Appartement Buildings and a Mall". From the announcement I'm not sure about it, but basically I would say that it should count as a mall :scratch2: Since a support case already got sent from a poster in this thread, I don't need to spam support with another one. Hope we're not closed out there !
 
If this competition is only for the Mall shop owners its totaly lame, thats like having an official MA hunting or mining event that is only for those hunting in some LAs, ruling everyone else out.
What about those who owns the "old" shops, are they "second rate" shop owners or something ??

AND to make it clear, I do not own a shop, never have owned a shop and probably never will own a shop, just think an official MA event for only "the choosen few" really sucks.

A very valid point, why on earth MA are you doing this when there are still major bugs out there. Kinda pointless at this stage in VU10 development...wouldnt you say?

And to completely disregard other shop owners...now that is majorly unfair.

A little clarification. We're completely aware that this competition is aimed at shops in malls. There will be another competition during the SGA aimed at the other shop owners. Also, it is our aim during the SGA that everybody (in many different activity groups) will have an option to get an SGA item as a prize.

what about those of us who are not fortunate, cant afford a shop, and use our apartments to sell items with a shop keeper?

sounds like some very high value prizes for such a limited participant event?

See ya hiding in there Frank :) A very nice competition and even though I have an unused shop in the mall, would love more traffic through the malls to increase value. I must agree with the others. There are many shops out there, either include them into this competition or let them know that there will be another for them. I used to enjoy stepping out of tp at TI City and wandering over to see the displays. A lot of hardwork by the shop owners has gone into those displays. In my opinion, they had to put in more effort. Have to catch the eye of the casual traveler, somehow entice them to go inside and check out the shop. The Malls, though,, you can just run through and see the displays showing what is being sold. Its only fair in my eyes to include them all or have another for them. :) Great job on the VU though,, its getting better n better.

But we still need to know if CND is a mall, or an "other" shop.

what about my gray furniture and my black signs???? will FPC judges use their imagination for what they are supposed to look like?!? will they also imagine that the items on the floor infront of the l-quaint are supposed to be on the l-quaint?
 
CND is not considered a mall.
There are more updates planned that should address problems being experienced with shops.

So cave shop owners got a mall and are allowed to take part now, CND mall shop owners aren't. And I got the ultimate proofs that the CND shops are built and therefore should count as a mall :silly2:

Just to predict the fact that Frank just said that the CND Shopping Complex isn't considered a mall, according to MindArk's earlier press releases it is.

However, as long as there'll be another competition I think it could be fine...

It's not unfair, it's just "normal". Once you see this as baseline, it's easier to get past it.

George Clooney is better looking than I am. That's not going to change. I didn't get bitter about it, I just accepted that fact and moved on.

If you can't get past the "rich get richer and win everything" aspect of PE, it's time to stop playing or switch games. Once we all realize all our peds go to them and MA, we can all leave and just let them bounce money back and forth to each other like a volleyball! ;)
