Here is a little Update...

Following my thread from yesterday with the Open Letter to MA: https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84240

I have also sent this letter as an E-mail to the board. My mail addresses seem to have worked with the exception of Anders.Gutenbrand@mindark.com which did bounce back.

As of tonight I have not had any feedback at all, no reply except for this one below. So if you are wondering why you hear no communication from MindArk then here is maybe why:

Thank you for your mail. I am currently on vaction and will be back in October. For pressing issues, please contact Mr. David Simmonds (davsim@mindark.com) for Business Development or Mr. Carl Uggla (carugg@mindark.com) for Press and Marketing.

I am not sure if this is simply a out of office notice not turned off ( in which case it would be a shame we heard nothing from MA so far) or Marco is still on vacation and hence we probably have to wait till we get some official communication.

I really hope that MindArk take the time to evaluate the latest VU against all the postings on forum and the many support cases which have gone out.

I am sure MA will come forward at some point with some sort of feedback.

Be optimistic ;)

Maybe by the time MArco gets back from holiday there will be no VU left...

Well he would have been expecting this. And who do you think is paying for his holiday?
 
Isn't MA going to the E For All convention in like 10 days? Lol, the game will never be ready for presentation by then...

I'm not too concerned about stability, i'm concerned what other players will do to hurt MA. If the concept is somewhat the same as Leipzig, it would be easy for players to cause a lot of problems...

Oh boy, i'm going to buy some popcorn before that convention :).

Yeah, seems to indicate poor planning or not anticipating that players would be pissed. If they had anticpated that players would be pissed, they would have waited until after the conference to roll out the new VU.

I hope MA is completely mortified and embarrassed by what the players say about them at that Conference. Watch 'em squirm out of THAT one! :laugh:

Not been here 5 years, but I agree it's a bad, baaaad timing...

I figure that most players won't have the balls to speak up against Mind Ark in a public conference. I'm sure Mind Ark thinks that too--I doubt they're worried at all.

Either that, or the majority of the attending players love MA and enjoy the new VU and their 2 PEC tax.

I can confirm that Marco has been on vacation for the last several weeks. He mentioned to me at the Leipzig Games Convention (end of August) that he was looking forward to his upcoming 6 week vacation, the first 'real' vacation he has been able to take since joining Mindark.

If I recall correctly, he returns back to the office early next week, so hopefully we will get some feedback from him on the VU 9.0 issues very soon.

Hopefully that vacation has allowed him to 'recharge his batteries', as he will really be jumping right back into the fire. :eek:

Yeah, I dont think that manipulating the loot pool to give out abnormally more hofs and globals is going to work this time for their image. They may have to develop a chat censor/filter for this one.

I think Fire is an understatement. He's jumping straight into the flaming pits of hell. I sort of feel sorry for him. ;)

There were not 'abnormally more hofs and globals' during the Leipzig Convention that I noticed.

Also I highly doubt a chat filter is required.

Such protests or attempts to sabotage or otherwise interfere with MindArk's promotional efforts are probably a violation of the EULA, and organizing such events are not permitted on EntropiaForum.

During the Leipzig Convention, I know of at least one avatar that was locked for just such offenses. I would hate to see any EF members have their accounts locked for something that was organized here on EF.

Follow the appropriate communcation channels to express your views on the new VU: submit a support case.

Attempting to intentionally interfere with Mindark's promotional efforts is certainly not the proper way to make suggestions to the development team.
 
I dont think that honestly people would need to go out of their way to cause a problem for MA during this period as the ALL CHAT comments right now would be enough.

Though I think most of the disturbed players are keeping their comments in soc chat imagine being on a demonstration avatar trying a run at the convention and running into people at a TP screaming out in protest about the 2pec decay.

Or being out in a LA with other green dots on the screen venting their anger about having missd 10 shots in a row dispite having reset their aim moved forward, back or to the side.......let alone them experiencing this for themselves.

People are so busy trying to aquire the new foot guards they need that many have not taken notice of the crafting changes........
Soc mates are screaming about 70 fails in a row on a BP they previously had good % returns on condition.

I as yet havent checked out mining as I was busy trying to loot a set of Gremlin foot guards male for a friend who will soon be returning from surgery to this mess.

I am pleased to say YAY I GOT SOME.....GET WELL SOON VAPS and hope you like your welcome back present.......

Havent as yet received a response from MA on my support other than the standard canned response.

Still waiting .... and waiting.....and waiting.....

Thing is do the development team actually listen to us or even care when we use the "proper" channels ??
Also Marco must be aware of the shitstorm he is returning to so I would be very surprised if we hear anything from him or MA about the complaints.
 
Great to hear that he can afford a 6 weeks vacation ... no further comment.

usually you would expect an exact date. or at least something in the future if it is the present month..

If I was Marco I would most definately have a premade automessage done during my vacation. Its not right to expect one person to carry a universe on his shoulders 24/7/365 , be it real or virtual.

man marco is gonna be pissed off when he gets back.

he must be on some beach right now trying to relax and trying to forget the hecktic world.

little does he know his collegues back at home are sturring a load of shit that he will have to sort out when he is back.

well i hope he enjoy's himself cus he's gonna have a nasty shock when he gets back in the office

No but a good bitchslap might wake them the f*k up.

...and then there's always the good old fashioned picket line. Try to explain THAT to yer investors, MA.

I suggest to anyone who can possibly attend: Protest LOUD put it IN THEIR FACE. Confront them publicly. DEMAND answers. The bigger spectacle the better. Tell anyone you can about the arrogance, the abuse, the lies, the bungling mismanagement...tell them everything.
