The Future of Mayhem: Vendor Changes

  1. Between 29th April and 27th May, tokens will temporarily be made tradeable. This will allow a grace period for players to offload/buy up tokens if they feel it is in their best interest with the changes going forward
  2. In the week directly following the end of this period, we will post a notice detailing the days and times when vendor restocking will take place, accounting for players of different timezones.

then hope your the ninja clicker to be at the vendor with 50-100 other people at the vendor.
and
then you need to hope that MA doesnt do an MA logic and change the prizes for the items.

and all that before you even know if the item you want is even going to be restocked ?

MA want to take step with removing UL items from Mayhem vendor. This is very unfair for players grinding and saving tokens for many years to be able exchange tokens for UL items. If this change going forward there should be taken additional steps like removing all existing Mayhem UL items of course with compensation in tokens for owners so they will be able exchange to L items or sell tokens.

It is understandable that some would want a high level UL item , and will rush to buy up tokens to accomplish this.
Nowhere in the announcement does it say UL will no longer exist or be offered in other ways.

Hanging onto tokens is not a bad thing , as once the L items are stocked , it will allow to purchase items that can then be sold.
What is the mu on these L items to look like ?

participation in the format has also been very high,
Don't worry, this won't be the case anymore. Likewise, a participation in depositing will drastically decrease too.

As someone who has done mayhems for past many years these changes completely kill any incentive for me to continue. The only thing I can do is vote with my wallet. For years players have been suggesting changes to improve mayhem, yet we get this half-assed solution/wrap-up after MA intentionally ignored all suggestions and flooded markets with RMs. ,,!,,

A necessary first step. Now we need (L) weapons and armor that are considerably better than any existing UL and/or require hunting and mining loots to repair UL. MMUGA

Nice so either I sell out after grinding for years or attempt to buy remaining regular tokens and hope that I can pull a bc 80 aug while it's being destroyed by everyone and there brother cause everyone knows time.... nice might be time to invest in my roth and brokerage account. Hopes of obtaining a 2.0 gun just for myself to use not even sell.... gone were gone before I even starting saving and grinding mad tokens years ago... thanks m a just like usual right up my a$$ not even pleasurable. Definately won't partake in future collect events... deeds... or placing. Learned my lesson no incentive only to hunt for myself. Only thing to look forward to now is eomon.... always burned 🔥

If you read between the lines:

Quoting from OP:

"In short, the faucet of tokens into the economy has been increased, participation in the format has also been very high, and the vendor has remained primarily used for the purpose of obtaining high-end UL items. This combined with expectations for restocks of these items has created a cycle which brings UL items into the game at an unsustainable rate - and frustration from players expecting and waiting for said items to be stocked.

Therefore, our plan is to remove UL items entirely from the vendor once stock is depleted, replacing them with exceptional, limited versions, and craftable exceptional limited versions that consume items from the economy. These “exceptional” style items provide long lasting items, but items that will ultimately expire with use. We believe that this still provides meaningful incentive for many players to participate, whilst ensuring UL items do not become more overabundant."

Think that's pretty obvious that they don't intend to restock with UL anymore, at least in the mayhem vendor format. They are giving one last opportunity basically for players who have some tokens left over to buy an UL item if they can afford to, and that's it. I don't think it is surprising to anyone that the mayhem vendor format has outlived its shelf life.

It doesn't specifically say forever or no intentions of stocking in the near future etc.

People want to know if tokens may be worth holding on for the long term (years even). MA have two main options, one is to temporarily remove UL altogether and the second they have no intention currently to ever re-introduce them to the vendor.

The third is they may not have decided yet...

Whichever option they have chosen for the time being it's better to know where we stand.

Good question.

Not definitive, but doesn't look good.
Maybe we finally get away from this buy your way to the top bs and go back to UL items being looted?

Imagine, doing mayhem where everyone has a chance to loot a 2.0 weapon.

Nothings gonna get better yall aint learned yet...lol it's disappointment after disappointment and hope gone. Sure this sounds good but I'm sure they will figure out a way to screw this up too

It's on its way, keep reading posts of people passing, and not many joining or if they do to get smacked down, can scratch off some more donations from me for a while lol

agreed. He should have said let's kill the game cause that's what will happen then :)
lol if you don’t realize they are inches away from that and are pulling all the stop to prevent it, you haven’t been paying attention.

I get it being a bag holder sucks, but if people spent money they can’t afford to lose that’s on them, perhaps they will learn some financial responsibility.

Anyone remember when mobs used to drop big L adj/imp/mod weapons with insanely high tt? I do remember even if I never looted one.

In short, we are back to 2008 loot style! Confirming that they were right back then. :hammer:

PS: Telling in advance the date/time for the Mayhem NPC refill is a positive thing to everyone, including Mindark!

I know that. Doing that L bullshit will speed it up even further. We want them to save the game not shut it down. Or atleast I want that..

Perhaps if all of the bag holders rage quit, but most of them are there already frantically selling their stuff at steep discounts.

The Economy is in this position because of so many UL items. The only items high end players are consistently consuming are enhancers. I single item cannot prop up the entire economy. Items must be consumed and looted at a similar pace in order for an economy to form.

The L items are basically UL items they last forever..

So no change really….

Well hopefully don't restock while im at work or during week.... weekend be better come on m a people have lives first

OP says they will announce restock time/date ahead of it happening.

It sounds very much as they never intend to re-introduce UL items, specifically, to the Mayhem vendor/format.

The most active players and those that pay for running this game have a UL item. Remove or destroy that and you will make many of them quit and crash the game. Removing the incentive to deposit and lock big amount of peds is also a killer for the game (no point of big depoing for a $20 L item) . This game won't survive with 3000 players having $100 worth in game. Also by removing the incentive to grind/play and win anything will drop the activity by a lot and kill the game.

They are consuming enhancers and paying a TT tax of 2-4% to MA for all their cycle. A mod nano user going full tilt is cycling 5000ped/hour and paying 100ped/hour to MA in terms of TT loss per hour. He prolly plays min 7-8 hours a day also so 7-800ped/day loss to mindark.

Yea just cause they announce times doesn't even guarantee you a item or a shot to get one if 50 people waiting there and they stock 2... this is terrible

Gonna make items get sucked up that much faster like a panic buy but everyone knows when they better have alot cause I want something for all my time and $$$ I wasted

You’re totally right, they should keep doing the exact same thing they have been doing, it’s been working out so great. Nevermind that the high end are not cycling even close to that much on a daily basis since Twen. I’m sure That stock will jump right back up and thousands will join, any day now.

Now you are laying words in my mount. I never said they should continue to do stupid shit I actually said the opposite with not doing your suggestion that would kill the game of in record time.

They are not cycling cause there is nothing to cycle for. Remove the carrot and that's what you get.. Increasing the speed of stupid choices won't save this.

Like someone already said, the vendor was empty. And it got cleaned out instantly as soon as they re-stocked.
I have a vague idea what will happen in June when they re-stock again.
