Okay, so I understand why someone would have interest in owning a land area, though they are expensive you can get your investment back if you know what your doing, and an estate allows you to have a store (i'm not sure if I am correct on that one) But whats the point of owning a house?

Like I believe Mindark should expand its capabilities and bring in mini-games type thing for people to use. Like lets say you buy a poker table for your house, then you can have ppl hang out and play, or maybe like an arcade machine.

All and all someone just please explain what is the point of owning a house?

Just like irl it is a place that is personal to you that you can call home :D

oh, and you can store more items there ;)

Is that it?

You can have shopkeepers in them and sell things via them rather than use auction.

But apart from that, extra storage, a place to call "home" and decorate how you wish - yes I think that's it.

Best thing for you to do would be to get in game and start learning stuff. There is a lot to learn. There is tons of good info here of course also but to answer this and other questions for yourself you have to get in and live the game for a while.

enjoy!

I am sure Mindark will never do that :D

One of my friends on EU invited me to their apartment for something so I went and they wanted to Cyber, but I really wasn't that into this game so I said yes and left my comp for 10 minutes then came back and it was all over. So theres one reason if you are that into the game.:)

 that is pathetically sad.

We don't need no stink'n points

whats the point of owning a house?
As someone else said, if you are going to ask such questions then you have to be prepared to ask a whole lot more.
What is the point of owning a house?
Well, what is the point of hunting or mining or crafting, or even playing a game?
What is the point of having a computer?
What is the point of doing anything?
What is the point of life?
Where do you stop your questioning?

If we accept that the point of playing a game is to have "fun", then I guess what you really mean is "How can owning a house be fun?".
I can come up with several reasons for me personally.
Unless you are a nomad (and even they have temporary homes) most people like to have a base-point in real life which they can call home. A place where they can decide to a greater or lesser extent who comes in, what can be done there and what it looks like.
It's the same in EU. I have a base-point which I can call home. I can decide who is allowed in and I can decide what it looks like. I can decorate it (which I personally think is fun), I can invite friends round and we can chat without a lot of other people overhearing.
I would also like to be able to change the wallpaper when I want to and I hope that MA will enable this to be done in the future.
There is also the possibility that I will be able to sell my apartment and get back my original money if I ever decide to leave the game, though I work on the basis that any money put into the game is a way of paying to play and I am assuming I will never get anything back (so if I do it will be a nice surprise).

Ome of the nice things about EU is that there are many ways of enjoying the game, not just hunting.

At one time I was a hairdresser in this game :ahh: - a girl approached me (either she was or I really need to consult my guts if I were fooled) and considering my charming personality (yeah rite ) she decided to show me her work as an artist...

Basically shes had many PC screens in appt with nice designs + her modeling photos + her vacation photos (sadly appt wasnt for public access)

Now, given the fact her modeling + vacation photos/vids were basically topless + she REALLY looks good it was a nice expirience which wouldnt be able to achieve hadnt she owned an apartment.

Now - there is your point - its a great way of socializing - yet it sometimes leaves ppl with a boner which cant be remedied due to spacial distance between interacting parties.

I.

P.S.

I werent married at the time being...

Like, I'm so sure. You totally can't play Barbie's without a place to show off your way cool furniture and rad clothes and makeup and stuff.

lol i saw an apartment exactly like that description! I was having an arguement (some how we got into it) with this female avy and i was convinvced that it was controlled by a guy. then she said, ok come to so and so apartment and you'll see. So i went and to my suprize it felt like i was walking into playboy mansion  I can't remember the name of the girl or apartment now though... was 1.5 maybe 2 years ago now, and i think she left game now too.

Beauticians use them to do their bussines.
Some guys have nightclubs in them.
You can have private social meetings.

Basically if you use your imagination you can make good use of an appartment. even get some profit.

I had an idea to put some kind of lawyer or pshychiatrist office in one. But I am not a lawyer or a pshychiatrist so .

What kind of game is that?

Virtual therapy might be a good thing for some...perhaps could consider using it as some form of internship for students in psychiatry.

The reason people choose to own a house vs and apartment, I think, is that with a house, you own the land around it as well.

Your ownership with apartments starts at the front door, and ends at the door leading to the patio (it is has a patio). With a house, if you visualize the area owned with the property, it extends far beyond the walls of the house. You have a yard you can display stuff in, put chairs, have a chirpy BBQ, etc. It's convenient to have a shopkeeper outside, as people are more likely to stop when they are passing by, rather than having to stop, go up a televator, go into an apartment, etc.

So, there's a few answers for ya as to why own a house instead of apartment. ;)

And with farming in the works
perhaps a little gardening as well
