Again good choice because we really did need those improvements and an expansion of the player base. With all these new planets appearing the player base has to expand otherwise none of the planets will be profitable.
I agree on the marketing offensive invasion super duper thing to attract new people to EU.

But!

MA should not lose focus on the regular depositors and give them the feeling they get punished for being a regular depositor over many years now and always only see other people benefit.

In early 2012 I was reffering to some news fetch from late 2011 and asked when the big marketing invasion starts that got announced same time the CLDs got implemented. It got, like so many times, posponed and nothing happend. I am looking forward into 2013 to see Ads in german Game-Related magazines etc.

with all the scamming and exploiting its good that players will have to wait a long time for their money,40 days may be what it takes to investigate an account

I'm highly skeptical that there's any investigation except in suspicious cases. It's the same thing with government forms: does it really take them 6 months to process some silly little form? No, it just sits in a file until they get around to it. A long waiting period gives the impression of "busyness" and more importantly, it gives them extra time to collect the cash needed for withdrawals. I'd like to see immediate withdrawals (or at least within 7 days if they are worried about security). It would be a huge boost to customer confidence, not just for older players, but for new players trusting MA with their deposits.

I have added the following section to the Entropia Universe Buzz article-

In the State of the Universe Address 2012, we mentioned plans for expanding and improving space. Several other projects received higher priority in 2012, resulting in the plans for space development being pushed forward to mid-2013. The early focus will be on addressing several issues that currently allow for practically risk-free travel between planets. Space combat and weapons will also be adjusted to improve hunting space creatures and ship to ship PVP combat. Towards the end of the year, we hope to implement several completely new features to space, perhaps even space mining.

Anyway I can't see them delivering on anything said but will log in to sell out.

Can't believe I invested thousands into this game, what a waste of time, money and effort - Time and effort being more important than the money spent of course.

Anyway, gl to those who stick around, I hope you enjoy the game for time to come :wise:
HA, well I got myself quoting myself.

So I logged in today, many skill chips to sell onhand, many empty ESIs to fill.

But it was the power of the soc mates that swayed me to stay and give it a go for another year.

So I toddle off and chip back in the remaining skills I had, having lost a shitload of ped on those already sold; Then I sell off all the empty ESIs.

I play for 6 hours straight cycle ~ 1500 ped using a trusty Apis (L), do 2 small missions and all I can say is:

BALLS (Euro-zone style) meaning FFS ... This game is so dead boring ...

But I have come to the conclusion that even though this game is dead boring, it is due to all the awesome single player games and array of other games I have been playing of late, with awesome challenges and storylines to suit, game technology that far surpasses EU in every way ... NPCs that interact with you and react to your actions and undertakings, the list goes on.

The solution now is to stick with EU on a lower budget, maybe 100 usd a week and then play at whatever level is suitable for some time to get used to the old, shoot loot, shoot loot, fall asleep and shoot loot ... I mean at the end of the day, its just a boring grind of the same repeatitive shit over and over.

MA where has the excitement gone from years ago, a global in 1k ped runs is um ... FOOK'D up and then loot what is the deal here, returns are not the best but they are reasonable enough, but really, mix it up a bit, give some useful items in each mobs loot table that are looted semi regularly (Not overly done but enough to hold a persons interest!)

*Sigh* There has been so much said in the past, ideas, wishlist and now you say yea yea we will get round to it in the future, damn you lot are fucking slow, the customer base to me seems to be in a disarray, depressed or have left for the most part with newbies coming in the door and seeing the current state of affairs does not help.

Please listen to the client base.

On a positive note, at least your making an attempt, just faith in Entropia and your good-will are at ATLows atm.

May this change for the better over 2013

It will be fine :p Most ppl don't even bother traveling atm so then the CLD owners will be pretty happe with this change that makes most stay even more on calypso :)

Creature Disposition System

In 2013 we will be developing a new creatures disposition system within Entropia that will effect how a mob reacts to your presence while travelling the universe in Entropia.

At first all mobs will be hostile to your avatar with a faction rating of negative -1000 points.
This will mean that all mobs will attack you onsight as they do today.

This value can be increased to a neutral stance of 0 points whereby the mob will not react to your presence and also may be elevated to a status of where the creatures' (mob) community will like you and forgive any transgressions made as long as your disposition remains above 0 points.

Here is an example of how it may work.

Your disposition with Argonauts starts at -1000 points as does it with all creatures in Entropia once this system is implemented. To raise your disposition with Argonauts to the point you will not be attacked at 0 points or neutral ground as it is referred; you must seek out the Argonautian community leaders, of which they will offer you quests to raise your faction/disposition with them.

Quest Example:

Argonaut Leader: Young huuuumon, you have come to seek friendship with the Argonauts. This comes at a cost! You must seek out the plague we suffer at present. A herd of Kerbos have invaded our lands, eating all our food and leaving little for us to survive off. We can not mine the lands the iron which we hold!

Do this task and we will extend an olive branch to you.

Quest Reward: 100 units of Iron Ore (or 2ped of mining/prospecting as an skill example).
Faction/Disposition Reward: +200 points
Negative rewards: - 100 points with all other creature(Mobs) factions.

Quest Objective, kill 1000 Kerbos and return to the Argonautian community leaders.

Finish the quest, +200 faction points

But how does one lose faction points: You lose faction points by killing a mob or by doing a quest for a certain faction.

A simple and plain example, not all of it is worked out as I am running this off the top of my head now, but the point is there are ways to make this game's ......

Gameplay More Interesting

Ekk, a can of worms, think devs think, stop being so trigger gun happy and so dead fucking boring with your developments, think if fun things that are useful.

Eg, Imagine cooperating with the Robots, whereby you have a drone escort follow you around for the next 12 hours of logged in gameplay that will shoot a hostile target that you have shot at least once (even if the drone kills more than 50% of the health you still get its loot)

Miners may like this :) Or having certain factions in areas they mine raised to 0 (Which will take a long time to do as raising one faction may impede on several others or all other factions at once)

^^ This can be achieved through achieving +1000 disposition.faction points standing then by completing a quest that is offer once you have have reached the level of friendly (+1000) points with the drones.

idk, think damn it, live outside of the square, stop connecting dots and realize that they are not two dots but an array of dots connecting each other on multiple levels.

This game is still the same shoot loot, wash rinse and repeat repeative no real goal shit that it was back at launch lol. (No offense meant but not much has changed except for fancy graphics and updated UIs and fluff, yes FLUFF some of which counts like auto use function, but most of which doesn't enhance gameplay.

This is a great suggestion. I did in fact write design specifications for a fishing system about a year ago while I was still writing platform systems, maybe some of the ideas from the two plans can be combined.

Keep in mind that an implementation of this is a long, long, time away. Most likely over a year.
Been over a year now lol!

The year 2012 is comming to an end in which we had space promised to be 'in focus' - then we got told by Bjorn on entropiaforum that space got shifted to 2013 - but somehow someone might have forgotten about space as i cant see it on the roadmap at all.
Would be nice to get an official statement in regards to space.
Do we have to wait like tamers did, to get told 3 years later that 'development will be started' ?

I've inputted my opinions & comments in with this broadcast. I want to stick around so please do your best to do all of what is written here and more. I want cost to play reduced, loot volatility reduced drastically, overall returns to be increased & for markup to be re-introduced & made new again please & I will be a very happy bunny. Where is info about this dont tell me this was big lie As with all Entropia Universe professions, the goal is for avatar skills and gear to play a major role in effectiveness and efficiency. One profession that can certainly benefit from adjustments in this regard is mining.

We are aware of the current situation with mining, specifically regarding the depths different mining tools can reach and the depths of various resources.

While I cannot give an ETA on when any changes might be implemented, I would not be surprised if this area gets some attention during 2013.

I am hoping for the best here being that i just came back and have little expectations maybe i will be pleasantly surprised but MA.. The taming situation really is ridiculous though with all the money that those people who lost out on it had tied into it.

That line makes me wonder why the so called tamers miss that system so much.
The old taming system was exactly as useless as scanning, the only thing you got from it was more total skillpoints and less peds on the card and there were probably much cheaper ways to increase total skillpoints.

With that said i really hope the new taming system will be useful, i guess it will be since a new planet is going to use it as a core system.

Patient :) There's an understatement, so 2013 it is now... same dribble, i will believe it when i actually see it.

Taming had features in the pre-cryo version of taming? that's new to me, changing the name and brushing a pet i wouldn't exactly call features.

So a new planet using taming as a core system aspect, how does one plan a business with a company that says "Taming will be back in a few months, then 2010 then 2011 then 2012 then 2013? just wondering.

I've seen the same road maps over and over and all mention taming yet it never comes.

let's see, the freshly started world (the old one ended, remember) could have different parameters =) however, it's very sad to see some veterans starting to sell-out because of this post by MA - they might be too late to save the vets... can MA spit on it? well, they say there is no point doing that against the wind. previous attitude of adopt or get lost has shown but 10 years to be a rather weak business plan, it is time to care about the clients, especially the long term ones. so I seriously hope that the goal that MA keeps on the top of their priority list from now on is no empty promises! better give us no news at all than empty ones.

concerning the initial post itself. I am willing to bet my opalo on the fact that this is a sci-fi universe and that the vast majority wants more content in space, aimed into the future and so on! there are no strong enough story writers for the developers to follow? get one, now! forget that extra app which tastes like a squeezed out thing since "everyone makes those now...", get the priorities in place!!! let me make it easier for you :
1. make the investments made by the players to last (do not change things overnight so that previous values get destroyed)
2. keep the only actual value you have - clients (the more veterans you have the better)
3. no more empty promises
4. hugely expand activities in space (there's no limit in the possibilities there)
5. taming etc.
