There should be a sweater's union to stop people from buying sweat lower than .5, even if people want to sell it for cheaper so they can make a quick dollar!

im starting a counter union! we buy all sweat at 0.00001! no higher!:yay:

:duh: OMG sweaters union # 232398643465340

use the search in the forum and check out how the others sweater unions did at the end

is this a belated 1st of april joke?

I can't believe no-one has ever thought of this before!

Not Again!
Well put.. This discussion has been made fifteen gigazillion times.. Nothing describes a dynamic market better than the price of sweat IMO. The more sweaters, and the more sweat they can bring to the market, the lower the price will be ;) that simple. Other factors are as well; how many people use mind essence? and how much? And the drop rate\ price of force nexus also contributes to the price of sweat.

We will very much likely see the sweat prices drop much, much more in the time to come ;) wait and see, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it with an idea like that. The price regulates itself by the market. How much people need vs how much sweat there is on the market.

I can't believe no-one has ever thought of this before!

Lets do it! If we get everyone to stop selling sweat the price must go up..

What would the people who need ME do? It's not like they can get sweat themsel...

Oh wait.. Unfortunately they can :(

*waves to War ...

Surely in the last 6 months or so on EF, you've seen the other 923840398430984 'sweat price' threads. :dunno: :duh:

If you see me in game, holler at me and I'll buy a little sweat off you. :D

You have no idea what you've just done..

Every new player/sweat seller who reads this will now be following and hollering at you :trout:

Advance notice :
I sometimes can't hear the hollering .. I'm gettin' old.

Ahhh the sweat price...

I buy sweat at .6 !!

(not buying at the moment sorry) :)

Recently I was talking to an Ambu about this and that and we also discussed sweating. The Ambu said that it's quite irritating for them with all those green beams and all. It got in a depressive mood while saying that. It was a Mature one and it felt bad for the Young ones who often cry out in panic. As a Mature it's not that bad but it's still better to run to an Old one every now and then.

Poor thing.

I bet if the WWF had an office on Calypso some things would be different.

well thats just it... i want the price of sweat to go up and this union would control how much sweat would be up for selling, as stockpiling from the public even if the ones who make ME can sweat themselves... its just to keep from resellers from buying less than .5 since today i saw one who i know is a big reseller to be buying at swamp at .2

Why only .5 ?

Bones

While we are atificially raising the price of sweat let's just go ahead and make it 2.0 ped /k again.

Another socialist idea that doesn't add up to squat.

I heard a rumor that both Mudkicker and MMAbigshow both buy sweat at .9 per unit.

I suspect that is just a rumour though.

this union would control how much sweat would be up for selling, as stockpiling from the public
you have quite some work ahead of you

not just that you have to inform every sweater ingame about it, means also every newbie who joins

you also have to make sure that all the sweat that is gathered per day
(now say 20 sweaters at swamp every day each hour, 20 at neas, numbers likely higher)
thats 40ppl*24 hours sweated=960 sweat hours per work
say each hour gives 300 (which is also quite easily 500)= 288 000 sweat per day

at the moment the ME sales per day, are below 10 000 peds, or units for that matter
means you have ~278 000 sweat needed for ME too much
per day

so happy stockpiling
after 5 days you gonna break the million latest

and thats just 40 sweaters, and just 300 sweat per hour assumed
guess either can be topped

your problem gonna be
a)the demand of ME (which is low)
b)the supply of sweat (which is high)
c)the information and control of each sweater ingame (thats what union is about i guess)

a and b you can even solve rather easily
stop sweating asap
start skilling biotropy and hunting with nerve blast chip
that should lower supply and increase demand :)

if you read a bit further about sweating unions
this must be the (serious figure) around 200th one
and neither was successful really

good luck though

i find this kind of thread funny :)

I think your best bet is a 2x skill gain on mindforce only event. ;)

As others have said, its supply and demand, and if you dont like the price dont sell.

Good luck on your union, I hope you have a large ped card so you can stockpile all of the sweat and keep it out of the hands of those that use sweat for evil purposes.

Deposit, I did... then you'll only sweat for your own ME, also like I do and spend more time doing the really quite fun things in EU.. unfortunately for you (sweat-gatherers) this means another depositor who DOESN'T buy sweat, which is becoming more and more common place as loot seems to be accumulating into more MASSIVE loots and less average loots, thus sweating can often be a haven between the bad loot periods which can afflict even across all three professions simaltaneously.
I'm actually quite glad that sweat is diving in price.. looking back at the times when I was a sweat-gatherer, that time could have been much better spent working on the house or developing my IRL business, allowing me even more pety cash to play with in EU.. lower sweat prices would have driven me to deposit earlier and depositing was easily the best decision I ever made in EU.

GL with the union though! :)

You took the words right out of my keyboard, Alice!

I've been responding to these threads before and I have also been buying sweat in large amounts from time to time. I have payed overprice and prices below market value.
What hit me when I did this the last period is that there is always someone that is happy to sell below .5 and there is always some git there calling me and other buyers scum and other foul names.

Two things comes to mind.

First, the guys selling for let's say 0.45 get their sweat sold in a split second, and can go back to gather some more. The guys that keep it at 0.5 and above that is still standing there when the guy that sold for 0.45 comes back with a new stash to sell. So who did the smartest move here?

Second, does the people that calls sweat buyers cheap and accuse us for exploiting the poor newbies and sweaters for one second believe that we do this for no other reason then our own gameplay?
I'm all for helping the next guy and does that a lot, but it's not my responsability to keep prices on things up, my responsability is for me to continue playing.

It's not a streak of evil that keeps pressing the price of sweat to lower and lower levels, it's all done by the fact, as Alice state in the post above, that there is more sweat on the market than there is need for.

And this goes for every item or service in the game. If a mod fap was common it wouldn't cost me 400k peds to get one, and if my shades were rarer then I would carry a fortune on my face, which I did, but since the supply now is leveled with the demand the price of the shades have gone down. Sad perhaps, but still a part of the economic system of the game, and by all means, the world as we know it.

This is exactly why when I was a sweater I would get called "nub" and be blamed for the plummeting sweat price, ignoring those who barraged me with comments like this, I laughed all the way to the bank... seeing those who would negatively address me, STILL standing there intent on getting .5 for their sweat, when I return with my next couple K sweat was hilarious!
Even funnier still, was seeing those same avatars still pushing sweat in their landing gears after I'd accumulated enough PED from sweating to stop having to rely on the green beam all the time, running around with weapon/fap/ammo/mining gear/armor having the time of my life...

Someone was giving me crap yesterday saying that the world is in strife and that I should consider this when spending large amounts of IRL money on luxuries and fun... I said it then I'll say it now; "I'll do me, you do you." - I take care of me and mine, you take care of you and yours. If we all do this, everything will be relative to our efforts of taking responsibility for ourselves. If you can't take care of you and yours, you have much bigger issues to deal with which I couldn't do anything about anyway.

I had to climb my way outta the gutter both in-game and IRL... no sob story is going to make me bat an eyelid!
ROFL, I sound so harsh.

lol

First off i want to say i pledge my support for the sweat union/s (in all their various forms). Having once been part of one myself i know what the newbies are going through and looking back at it, although it failed in the end (we upped the price somewhat for a while, at least in PA and swet camp), it was one of the most memorable things i'd done in eu as a noobie :D

Today, my sweat days are long gone, replaced by XXXX ped deposits monthly and skilling my arse off in my chosen professions. I dont really use ME all that much, and even at double its current price i would still not suffer any major ped loss on my deposits from using me.

The worst you can do is fail, and if you don't try, you fail in any case. If you up the price little bits at a time, it will go up. As Alice said, you gotta get loads of sweaters involved and all newbies. Most important tip i can give you is DON'T get into fights with people who are trying to get you to stop. Just focus on the sweaters, ignore the resellers and their "COMMUNIST" insults :D lol.

If you all work together, you will raise the sweat price, cause i can tell you, and MANY other players my level and up share this opinion. I would rather quit eu than sweat lol, also i would never sweat to make my own me, i buy it. My focus is to be out and hunt/mine/skill/pvp, i don't have time nor care or even enjoy sweating and will never do it.

So i will pay you .8 for sweat rather than waste hours of my time getting it myself :D

So good luck and persist! :D

and if you fail like the many many before you - at least you can say you had your turn lol

On the other hand, a higher price of sweat would increase the price of ME.

If that would lead to less demand for ME, because of an increasing price on ME and the cost to use it, or not remains to be seen if OP succeeds...
That scenario wouldn't help the sweaters one bit...

So, go ahead and try, you might be able to manipulate the market for a short period of time, but supply and demand will always set the price long term.
No offense, but I propose you use your time and energy on something more likely to succeed.

well sadly i dont have that desposable income like you depositers do
