End of summer update
With migration over, it's time to have a baby update. Some people have been asking after it, so here it comes:
Freja is very "switched on"...
She's learned to eat with both knife and fork. Pasta salad is one of her favourites.
A place to hide is always fun. This time a cardboard house became her humble abode.
Can't be at home all day though, so a shopping trip is often needed.
Not all shopping trips are equally easy.
And after all that walking, a bath is refreshing.
A swim in a lake is even more refreshing!
But there's no place like home.
At least until it's time to go on a hero's journey, riding into the distance on sheep with big brother.
Chillin' in Kimmi's hometown, looking at jellyfish in the port.
Journeying far and high into the mountains with nanny, a compatriot from England joining the sojourn for a short week...
The journey has brought Freja to lands with many antiques waiting to be examined (great-grandmother's house).
Does Freja dare take the plunge?

Summary of developments
Since our trip to England earlier in the year, Freja has made good progress verbally. She now talks in full sentences. Examples of these can be:
- I need the potty
- Isa wants some more
- What's Isa doing?
- More water please?
- Freja's running on the grass!
- Appo going beddy byes
And some Norwegian ones:
- Kan eg få... (can I have...)
- Isa må gå på teltet (Isa must go on the tent) - wrong grammatically, should be "Isa må gå i teltet"
- Freja sulten (Freja hungry)
- Kan jeg gå på rommet ditt? (Can I go on your room?)
And some mixed sentences:
- Freja done a bæsj (Freja done a poo)
- Kan eg spise brown cheese? (Can I eat brown cheese?)
As one can infer, she has become a pro potty user and is ready to upgrade to a toilet-potty seat. She only wears nappies at night, and barely needs them then. She holds it until she is sitting on the potty. Just this evening we have been on a 3 hour walk without incident.
We have noticed a bit of "jealousy" towards Isa, but nothing major. It's just that Freja notices when Isa gets a lot more attention than she does, and that makes her a bit sad sometimes. Isa just had her one year day, and at such occasions we have to be sure to give her equal attention. This was tackled by Freja helping Isa to open her presents.
Physically, Freja has got comfortable with jumping. She loves to jump on our bed, on the sofa and just on the floor. I'd love to get a little rebounder or trampette for her to bounce on, but space is the issue. She will start with kiddie-gymnastics when she's 3. She loves running, climbing, lifting and sliding, and is encouraged to do as much of all of these as possible. One example is that she climbs into her own bed (still a baby bed with rails until she gets her hand-me-down from big brother next year). She has even climbed up a steep 4ish metre slide without help, multiple times. That was impressive!
She has learned to count to five in both English and Norwegian, knows her left and right hands and feet, can clothe herself with minimal help and knows the basic colours (red, green, blue, orange, yellow, pink, purple). She knows and eats a lot of different food including different kinds of berries (even blackcurrants, not commonly liked in its natural form), spruce shoots, salad (including "rocket"), herbs from the veranda garden (usually in a homemade herb butter). Fish is a semi-regular treat and she has just recently got a little taste for ham (proper stuff, no shop-bought processed crap). The only taste of sweets she has had is when she got given one bite of cake at her second birthday party, which got intercepted pretty quickly by me. We're still waiting a bit with that. She loves her fruits; apricots, grapes (especially!), apples, plums, mango, bananas and has even had a (homemade of course) kiwi ice lolly.
Soon time to start her on letters, numbers, reading and writing so she can come and school some of you guys in EU! Go Freja!
