a few video playslists

http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/youtube-entropia-playlists/

One of them is for bugs, one for tutorials, one for Mccormick, and one's for parties. I haven't put a bunch in some of them yet, but there's over 90 in the mccormick list

I haven't had a bunch of time to watch youtube since around Christmas when I was out of work sick for a while because of a surgery. If anyone has more vids to add to the various lists, just shoot me some links and I'll add em when I get around to it.

https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...-of-Oblivion&p=2663924&viewfull=1#post2663924 - mc's content of oblivion before he exited stage left because he thought mods here were over the top... (he's still over on ep though)

He copied most of it to his blog recently... http://content-of-oblivion.blogspot.de/ (link is also in sig )

Is this the Dan you guys are talking about? http://terranova.blogs.com/terra_nova/2006/05/mindark_im_sorr.html. If not, I nominate that guy. Anyone that can get MA's wrath that much deserves a mention, lol.

not a real participant, but who could forget Marika http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!.wordpress.com/2013/01/21/marika-and-entropia/

What about Bridge/Silverfox?

For scammers, Richard Devil sound familiar to anyone? https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...5-R-amp-R-Fund&p=820872&viewfull=1#post820872

Pirate scam? https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...estment-Fund&p=1900368&viewfull=1#post1900368

The good ol Medusa Head buyers were a good little bunch, but who remembers Entropia Investment Fund? http://www.eifund.net/T3/

Whatever happened to Joshedward and his STTS? https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...ution-(STTS)&p=1485471&viewfull=1#post1485471

Are NPCs to be on the list? Emma? Simon?

I definitely vote for Skam since I don't see her on there yet! :) btw Skam did you keep local copies of Gateway articles you wrote somewhere? Putting them on the history wiki at entropiaplanets might be interesting since there's quite a bit of history there that got deleted when Mindark changed the site design.

What about the devs, etc? Links to each of the dev's profiles both here and at ef might be good. Who can forget Marco? Traction PR?

Who first posted about the 'speed hack'?

I nominat MMA Bigshow for first in game 'real' auction, even if it was a horrible flop and his internet died during it, lol.

a few Mudkicker links are over at http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/the-mudkicker-story/

Thanks about voting me :)
hehe, i have graduated 55 with the NEW system, and in past... over 50 for sure...

so keep up the good work

Sarah Witchblade Pezzini - Most successful trader, member of Planet Express, owns a MS and LA.

Does Sarah still own an LA? I thought the allophyl LA north of Omegaton changed hands and Serpentis had it a while... not sure if he still does. I assume she has another LA but have no clue?

Thanks for the welcome backs you guys, appreciated :)

I didn't, no. They were on my old comp at work. However, iirc we moved the entries (at least the text) over to PCF during the transition in the thought we'd add that to the frontpage archive in PCF, so it might be that they're in PCF's databases somewhere. Maybe 711 knows.

Sarah C. should be on there even tho she no longer plays....I was lucky enough to get her to color something in her last days and that was by word of mouth. I never "knew" her.

Hi

I think it would be a huge oversight not to include Oleg Oleg McMullery into this list in at least the event coordination section , where he has a massive list of accomplishments including the boxing tournaments , battle Royale , and is currently very active in this category. He was also former General of the Skillin Villains and is well known on the forum for his outspoken posts as well as his knowledge of the game , Olegpedia is a common reference to him.

He will most likely see this as "rubbish" or "bollocks" , but I disagree.

Thank you and I hope there is a consensus.

Bones

Your probably better of removing me from list as my MS is not operational and doesn't offer any rides. Besides far more deserving people around...

Thank you George what this thread is about. Thread updated.

I have to endorse this one myself! Known him for some time here and his health issues might suggest we may not see this fine player again. If we do I would be the 1st to jump for joy... For him and his family.

jdegre...if I need to post why then you shouldn't even be adding names to this list yourself.

agreed with oleg.

You want to add things about radio DJs...what about Pink Pussycat Panther who had the first live stream show in game and streamed through the game audio?

As far as jamhot goes...he was also one of the original AHR members when it was first launched with 2 people.

I don't get these entries either can anyone explain how/why they separated themselves from any other MS owner?

Landowners/Item Owners:
John Black Knight, Sbi, - Owners of various MS and offer rides
I think there are lots of ways they are both famous and deserving as being on the list. Many of the MS in space are inactive – or used privately. But I think it takes more than just offering some flights to be famous.

JBK was well known before from players who have been around a while for his Tactic Tuesday events, The Black Gallery and as a prolific vehicle crafter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QEbkX1QFzU

Then Launching ToS with the MS Normandie , from the very beginning of space offering secure flights to thousands of passengers across the universe. Truly connecting the universe and a key source of info on all things space related.

Many new mothership owners and space travellers come to him for advice and info. Having a huge crew with so many spending their entropian lives aboard up there ( an entire community of its own!). Keeping the schedule every day since the very start without fail and also Normandie being the MS in space with the highest SI. Many famous battles with pirates. Then The big space events, like the Loscusta tanking where all were invited and Banshee from MA came along for some fun too. Acquiring the Ark Royal ( a story in itself!) and operating both ms.

Sbi has been operating Kronan also for a very long time and does a lot of skilling trips, has a big crew and they skill hard. Sbi is a regarded as a nice guy and has been possibly the main source of welding wire for a very long time in the universe!

There are a couple of other MS owners who crop up as getting more well known in the past few months, but imo not as much so as these two yet– some of the newer services are gaining reputation though for example Narfi ( but he is already famous in his own right ;) ) Narfi is also famous as a ms owner for how the Revenge (owned by neverdie) was awarded to him for his winning of the thing event(huge event and many takign part in huge team efforts), and it being the first MS to have its name changed (now MacReady).

Other famous space people include;

Stagger, a thorn in the side for many in space - widely known pirate, however now what a bit inactive. Has an unlimited quad, that had to be added to the game by MindArk after an alleged mistake they made – hence calling the ship the “justifier”.

Micjack – been pirating since the start of space, very dedicated to his work, most will have encountered him at some point. Although doesn’t have a big gob like a lot of other pirates :p

Neil Stockton – Space explorer extrordianre. Has scowered every inch of that map searching for new La and creatures.

Goldy/ernestJ with the Dreadnaught, a pirate MS with a scam twist in its tail. Interesting story :)

I'll second or fourth that nomination. Nice guy

Grave Digger should be on the list - nice skilled and first?! who killed a Daspletor with a Mann MpH.
Maybe also best skilled German player?

Basic Guidelines

History is always important, but if it has to be noted even for a game, then let it be done properly. I dont think there is any need to over complicate the criteria for fame in EU. In my book, regardless of time spent or the year of which, there are two types of standard acknowledgements.

A Official Acknowledgement
B Community Acknowledgement

The OBVIOUS Criteria

1 Interviews > If someone has been interviewed by well known or established news sources then they are considered famous. Here i would consider the validity of the interview source and their reach in EU at that time.

2 Official Recognition > MA or a PP named something after them, Acknowledged them for whatever. Goes without saying they have been recognised for something extraordinary.

3 References > If they are exceedingly known for something (community support to guidance to whatever), then people will talk about them, make threads about them and so forth....this is a given and OBVIOUS sign.

3 Out of 3 = A List Celeb
2 Out of 3 = B List Celeb
1 Out 0f 3 = C List Celeb

Fame should not be based on PEDS and so OWNERSHIP should not be considered a entry point to fame on a properly structured EU Fame List (That would be a rich list lol).

I think a refinement of
3 References > If they are exceedingly known for something......
is needed. Perhaps the degree and quality of references needs to be taken into account.

Your probably better of removing me from list as my MS is not operational and doesn't offer any rides. Besides far more deserving people around...

Actually George you do qualify and are at the very least a C list Celeb under Community Recognition category for significant contributions to EU with references in the form of Calypso Museum.

Im not sure but havent you also been interviewed at some point or another by a reliable and longstanding EU news source? That would mean you qualify on at least two of the standard criteria and thus B List

Eitherway, you have earned a place there.

i am not the best mentor, I always tried to avoid that title, I am pretty good though
the actual fame (if you want to call it that) part for me probably comes from the guide, not my mentoring
although this worked together in a way, as the mentoring kinda got me writing the guide and got a bit more spread via my disciples later on as well
nowadays im fairly inactive regarding mentoring and guide writing tho (although i am updating the guide at the moment)
if we speak about graduates, i had 68 in the old system, i didn't take too many newbies on in the new system, cause im not that often around anymore

but remove the best please :p

if being a community adviser is qualification, we get some more ppl to name

in either case i name Stave, who was not just in the adviser program, but also founded ETA, the entropia travel agency, he quit EU tho, thread about that generally here https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/...the-TP-run-and-Map-Making-business&highlight=

if the advisers qualify, which by definition of Daisy would qualify at least by MA/PP recognition,
we would have Aandar, Fox, Faye, Jot, Fishface, KP, Ion, Zar and Wed (Serica and Stave were already named, hope i didnt forget anyone)

however, if you count them as famous I don't know, cause quite some people prolly never heard of them
in either case though, they deserve recognition for what they did
generally the thread would rather be about people who deserve recognition instead

i second fishface, who is a pretty decent fellow :)

Ofcource by my standard criteria, there will be many C List candidates, but less as the criteria stiffens up and even fewer on B and A list due to criteria. I only suggested the basic structure so that it can be refined, because there needs to be guidlines to prevent a free for all.

EU has been around a long time, and many have made contributions to various degrees in EU. So there will be many. My standard Guidelines wants to recognize them also, but a refinement is needed in terms of measuring the IMPACT of those individuals......ie number of threads they are referenced in and soc forth.

If they have been significant enough, then they will have been spoken about by others (as you have on many many threads with your guide) here. Whether one or all remembers them, these records can be traced here on these forums in the vast majority of cases. Basic guidlines HAVE to be set, or this list will be pointless. And if someone known doesnt meet the criteria, then sadly that would have to be it, or the rules are broken and it becomes a free for all again.

I notice Witte is shown as the creator of Entropedia. I don't think that's quite correct - as I recall it was Minder who was the original creator, but Witte took over as admin when Minder stopped playing some years ago.

I didn't expect to say that anytime soon, but I agree with Daisy there :D

It would be nice to have a some names in a "to be recognised /remembered" thread tho

cause reading over that list gave me quite some memories of ppl who were around more often :)
i remember bugging Etopia with ambu clothing for example :D

fame isn't necessarily the mark of contribution to EU either
there are quite some ppl you never or hardly heard about but who did a lot

this is why this thread gets so many names as well
there are so many people who enriched many others gameplay but did that in silence more or less
it isn't the most vocal people who do the most necessarily

since this thread is just about fame, well, it should prolly have less ppl on it
considering my inactivity regarding mentoring and guide writing atm it shouldnt have me on it already prolly

but on another thread about who deserves recognition you could name way more ppl who deserve remembering, beyond a possibly short lived fame

Lykke chest/dress - gf/wife of viagra falls and very active on the forums and now on carene/ark community?

Skam handbag - meantioned be4 as well also a bunny lover ^_°

McCormick safe - to hide his videos in is know to be funny and always to wear a wrench in his hand

there is probably more named items by now

Zap is good call. What about dendri for entropiabay.. snow leopard for treeview...

Medea Adel Green, most active hunter in game of all times, leader of global count.

also add;
