News: The Expansion of Entropia Universe

Let's imagine a new scenario:

-Once the PPs have grown tired of having to shell out for new technology, and before losing everything, they sell off the planets to MA, who becomes the sole administrator...

-Now for the second part: The Genesis probes are launched, people shell out more money, planets begin to be created... and now more money is spent to terraform everything and create planets... and make them attractive so people go and leave money...

And the moment of truth arrives:

-Whatever the "Genesis Partners" do, they will see that the best events, mobs, loot, and more will always be in CALYPSO... and the "Genesis Partners" will see their investments become worthless...

Can also imagine the following scenarios:
- Smart investors do research and would go around the caly events or will know about them beforehand and not be taken by surprise about the eomon migration I would assume.
- PPs, once they fully undestand what's the direction and what the tools are, are happy to join the program because the tools will make their lives much easier, allowing them to bring better quality updates to their corners of the world and maybe even allow them to better work together.
- Could also imagine some better tools for advertising being used by other teams which can prove successful and some of the planets being able to bring more players than MA can, with also better programs for retention.

The option to make a planet being more accessible increases the chances of success but in the end we can all agree it all depends on implementations and terms offered....

You have described LAs, shops, motherships. Entropia is reverse pyramid. Little fishis profit from the sharks. Bring even more planets I say. You get bragging rights I get free ammo.

But how could somebody just randomly know when is the next migration, without Bertha bot first posting about pheromon levels are increasing?

i was thinking the same. basically a planet with low aggro zero regen and cheap to craft mining amps can destroy all the others
and if we have 100 planet with 100 resources they will all die
and if same resources are everywhere we need to see what the BigBrother allows to personalize loot table.
i mean
a Turp or Haters like mosnter that drop basic leather extractor, shraps, wool and soft leather is a dream to skill for all tailors and material designers

@TrueJuan
The only thing wrong with this statement is why would any players stay, with out the planet partners? For MA content? Meh

And all mobs are shared loot

Not everybody likes shared mobs, it was requested many times to remove shared mob from annihilation instances too.
Would be better to avoid others being able to hunt there without the need of private instances, but im not gonna give out all my million dollar ideas about how to solve that :)

Insider information obviously, telling migra is happening in the summer, for about 2 months every year. Super secret stuff.

Luckily this is not true since we are different and we want different things.
Quality targeted content is what would bring players to a planet imo.
as planets will nto have the liberty to create whatever they would think of but everything would have to be approved. I do hope there will be at least at the level of PP some set of guidelines so PPs would have an easier time to push content.
MA's directive since like forever was that PPs could not add big number of new stuff to not confuse players even more, I guess that's about to change and we would also need an AI assistant at the player level to crawl all the updates and keep us updated with gazillion new stuff added every VU 😂

Well, migration one was obviously "sarcasm on".
I wanted to write how would you know in advance when is the next Christmass for Xmass mayhem, but that would have been too obvious :D

Gazillion new stuff, sounds fun, cant wait for the gazillion thread about "X stuff from Y planet is OP compared my Z stuff from Q planet, i demand buff / nerf / refund / price increase / decrease / sacrifice of a virgin"

I was figuring that bot-island would have enough mobs to make the radar red and this way no one could be upset over stolen kills.

Oh I knew that and pushed it forward, but some will still not get it and will lock into the insider informaion and take it seriously.... :D

I actually don't imagine 50 planets, altho it wouldn't be a bad thing. Obviously some of the new stuff will make our current stuff look like toothpicks. We just have to go for the new bling fast enough :D

I just hope for balance. If we have free reign, there will be an unending power creep that makes even tomorrow's new gear obsolete before Tuesday "patch day" comes. This is the main thing that keeps me from enjoying hobbies. The cycle of "sell stuff until it stops selling, then release new stuff for more money." I don't play collectable card games, or miniatures, or anything based on that model.

Personally, if I made a planet like this, I'd have a single 'town' with all the NPCs arranged in a circle so they are easy to find along with a few pens of sweatable mobs for those so inclined. Then I'd have instances where you could select the mob type and maturity you wanted for the low low price of 1000 sweat. Each person then has their own hunting ground and lag should be minimal.

It's absolutely terrible that this is exactly what everyone (who wants to actually make a profit) will do AKA pull a mindark: make everything bottable make sure no one wants to actually play the game as a game and kick the can down the road until no ones left. As players who have no choice but to do this it makes sense because they know how MA has this game setup for it. As for MindArk it makes 0 sense shooting for these short term gains for garenteed long term huge damage to the game.

Point being... before MA launches this crap they better make dam sure the game is set up where active playing at least have a slight advantage instead or it'll continue to decline and everyone will make boring ass planets designed as a botfest instead of interesting/nice looking planet to bring more players. I have 1 way to fix all their/our problems if they want to send me a 1 second message ill spend hours making it and typing it up .. or they can find another way but something needs to happen before this thats for sure... unless the new generation is looking for a game where you don't have to actually play it or play it and lose to those who don't play it? I've been out of the gaming industry loop for a while so I could be wrong.

i dont think these planets will be as simple as this. my guess is they will offer your planet "default mobs" that every planet allows as well as basic lootpool, maybe they will allow you to make custom mobs etc... at a price

I expect fully customizable planets and mobs with the look, after all the current PP's will use the same to keep their unique planets running and updating.
Loot table of mobs ofc must be different, either have to select from pre-determined packages, or it will be based on different criterias about the mob, like hp/lvl/dmg/type/maturity/etc.
I doubt i will be able to freely choose what i want to my mobs loot table.

They do say in the post: In the coming weeks, the sixth planet will be unveiled.
Could be ARIS. Exciting nonetheless, I for one am looking forward to this new chance of exploring.

As it is now, many people have apartments and houses, even castles. Imagine if there were just as many planets, each player could call a planet their home planet. We would need fast transportation to and from these places, I also think it would work best if these new planets were non-taxed, making it work on the revenue-generated model.

Exciting plans :alien:

Says who? I have been around even before Arkadia exist and I never eared it that way.

And codex shows Arkadia Planetary System, APS? ARPS? ARKPS?
consider logic: if a new planet will be unveiled, for sure they wouldn't disclose it's name, don't you think ? Plus Arkadia is the only one viable for that naming

I'd be interested in being part of the dev team for the customisation tool, as it is a next step in "what the world uses" to create creative worlds (or not!). However, as usual, I don't think there's a iota of a chance that I'd be on a team that gets things right - and gets to keep it that way, instead of some manager ordering this and that to be changed.
On loot tables, one question is what MA currently decides may be on a mob table, or what mix. Is it now a human decision to accept a suggested table or an AI one now? Would this be ported for the multitude of new requests that new planet designers would make, or something else?
No, I don't expect that to be answered, but this also means I don't expect to seriously involve myself in this whole process at pretty much ANY level really ...

People just assume too much...

And why can't you reveal the name of the new planet? What have Mindark to lose with it?
It seems there will be plenty of new planets in a near future, will Mindark patent the names of them all?

What makes more sense to me is that ALL the names on that list, aside from Monria (but it is the Calypso moon), belong to Mindark!

In the coming weeks, the sixth planet will be unveiled, marking the dawn of a new era of planetary exploration and user-generated content.
I still don't understand what this means exactly, so in a few weeks (or maybe months?) a new planet will be "unveiled" - as in we'll just get a new press-release about the new planet with more details, or will it be in the game right away?

unveiled - good point Phil!
The range thus lies from just another press release to a fully blown release that we can access.
Wondering (for fun) if this planetary area can only be reached via space tp. Wouldn't that be fun :p? (especially if you forget to have enough for the trip home again.... stuck in your ARIS)

Brands within an incubator brand ( MA ) are likely the responsibility of the deed owner ( not MA in the traditional sense ), so depending on how serious they take it, all manner of Digital asset protections need to be in place first. Ip protections but also to prevent asset ( planet domains etc ) squatting etc initially.

The only thing wrong with this statement is why would any players stay, with out the planet partners? For MA content? Meh

Players played 8 years with MA content. (Then Rocktropia came in 2010 and Arkadia was like 1 or 2 years later) MA therefore started concentrating just on platform and left the content up to Planet Partners because they did not have enough resources to do both their content and also do stuff for Planet Partners.

The amount of players BARELY changed yet MA had more and more expenses for servers.

Why would players stay? Why did they play for years on Calypso? RCE. If you have a good working economy they will stay, if it goes to shit like its going now, they will leave, and MA instead of focusing on the CORE of the game they always just add something thats half finished, or something that will give them quick-money.

It really looks like there was barely any planning. And they do not think of consequences.

There was so much they could have done with this game and to be honest im really pissed off because the overall idea of EU was great...

This game has been running for over 20 years. Competitors like afterworld, pion perished. Second life is still here with 48k players. For a game without any planning, and stupid ideas (compets) it's done fairly well.

Planet creation is very likely to be very, very expensive. Most people will be left just trying to take advantage by farming resources to supply the well heeled.

just goes to show how much they really care about their own game if they're willing to sacrifice planets and everything everyone has ever done on those planets.. hope they are prepared to sacrifice their playerbase with a move like that.
