Question: Nobody at MA has anything to say about Rocktropia?

So nobody at MA (or even FPC) has anything to say about the launch of Rocktropia? No grats for Neverdie? No 'Yay we have a new planet, go us'.
No 'This is the start of something big blah blah...'

Just seems odd, at every other big change in the game of late, they have been fervently posting on this Forum. Notice Marco's excitement when the Tier system was released, for example.

I'm just surprised that not even Hanne has had anything to say about it.
 
Marco and Hanne are part of FPC - not related at all to Rocktropia. So we wouldn't expect them to say anything.

Not sure what forms of communication we usually get from MA.

(do they even communicate?)

But saying that, I thought I saw a press release somewhere around here.

I understand that much, I still would've thought they would've said 'Grats' or 'Welcome to the Universe or something.' :scratch2:

They communicate via the Client Loader in the form of Content upgrades and server downtime warnings. :laugh:

Yeah, to be honest they really shouldn't say anything. I'm fine with it that way anyway, just let ND and Friends talk about it. Let them take all the responsibility for what they do well and not so well. ;)
 
I think they are spying quite heavily on our reactions here ;)

I don't know the official stance. Frank? John? I can't help but see Marco the face of MA and Hanne the face of FPC these day's, although Marco is CEO of FPC.

He seems to be the only person to bring any word of MA's view to these forums anymore.

Actually, I think could work out and benefit MindArk. Marco has experience as a CEO of a company (First Planet Company) and has the experience first hand of what goes on inside on MindArk.

Hanne is the Community Manager and I'm sure inbetween telling us the Buzz, she could easily fit in a small bit of PR.

And I'm sure we'll get more MindArk interaction in the near future. :)

But does he? When the Tier system was introduced, we were left waiting for him to have meetings with MA before we got answers to many questions.

Is that MA's policy now, community interaction is the sole responsibility of planet partners?

Does he have experience in MindArk and as a CEO, yes he does. MindArk didn't talk to him not his fault. People blame him for MindArks short comings alot of the time and praise MindArk for his achievements.

I guess, yeah, it has come down to the Planet Partner's responsibility to talk to their playerbase and community.
 
Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming anyone for anything. Just asking a question.

Marco actually seems like a nice guy to me. ;)

I doubt it. I am sure I saw a post some time shortly after the split between MA and FPC that said MA are not interested in us any more because we are not their customers. The planet owners are MA's customers, and we are the planet owners customers. Hence we see Marco and Hanne, but no MA people. I assume Neverdie will fess up to actually owning Rocktropia soon and can start to see him in some sort of official capacity as far as comunity/customer relations.

Personally I think incredibly short sighted attitude of MA considering the planet partners have little/no control over most of the day to day "workings" of the planet and cant deal with bugs, or anything of importance, only fluff like missions etc (although I dont like the missions! :))

I will see if I cant find the post I am talking about.

Well that certainly is interesting. Unprofessional in my opinion. MindArk made themselves less apart of it all with that in my opinion. They created Calypso but they wont have anything to do with it anymore. Too bad.
 
Do you think MA cares ? As long as the cash if flowing...

Besides, the only person who would say anything at all would be a Rocktropia official... so that would be ND I guess...

I don't expect Marco or Hanne to say anything at all...

Please leave FPC the way it is...

PFC = PE = Cool Sci-Fi RCE game... forget about the rest... Ignore it. Improve FPC and fix bugs please !!!
 
MindArk did issue a press release, posted on their website here:
New Planetary System Discovered in Entropia Universe

Bearing mind that RockTropia is supposed to be creating it's OWN market and playerbase (not simply providing an additional hunting ground for existing players) I'd expect the marketing drive to be external not internal.

Yes, Marco have posted about it. And Marco commented on it when he once was in Twin Peaks. But he's working at FPC and tried to fix it up. MA, who was reponsible for that mess, had as far as I know mentioned nothing about it through a represenative.

Without meaning to sound disrespectful, but that is a really stupid thing to say.

Of course it's our business. Like it or not, MA takes a % of our money, just like FPC, just like Rockropia. The only difference is MA now say that we are not their customers so they no longer have to answer to us. Does that sound reasonable to you?

Bottom line is, they provide a service that we use that the "middle men" such as FPC and Rocktropia have no control over. Namely loot distribution, programming bugs, maintainance of the software on our computers, support queries, Gold cards, deposits and withdrawals (using our bank details!!) etc etc... and you think what they do with this sort of thing is none of our business, you think they shouldnt have a customer liason with the people ???

If you are not that fussed about the people that hold your bank account details having to answer to you, please feel free to PM me yours and I will ignore you too :D
 
Of course we wish Rocktropia well! :) Its better for all of us if they succeed!

FPC is just veryvery busy with our upcoming mission release :)

FPC is ultimately responsible for everything that happens in the Calypso system, isn't it? And we should support this view. And we should let FPC know that we would any time support them enabling features later in Calypso than other planets if they feel that these are not working as well as could be. Like say vehicles. If the vehicles don't work pretty much ideally at the time of introduction, why not let some other planet handle the troubles?

I don't think "getting the features first" should or even would be the part that drives players to Calypso and keeps them there.

Weird that the ToU you have to agree to, if you want to log in the Entropia Universe still names Mindark and makes every user a direct customer.

These ToU is an agreement between You, who wish to register an Entropia Universe Account and MindArk PE AB (“MindArk” including its subsidiaries and affiliates), the developer and owner of the Entropia Universe.

Virtual Music Worlds llc seems to be as well kept secret as NEVERDIE Studios because "NEVERDIE Studios is the premiere production division of NEVERDIE™, the most famous & successful avatar of all time." doesn't really tell shit about the company.
NEVERDIE™ is also owned by Golden Shadow Pictures.
Seems things can be done way too complicated way.

I am much more curious about a sign of life from Neverdie himself, or from one of the spokespersons from rocktropia. Is this is testing phase for them, is there new content coming, will there be more advertising from them, are they happy with how it went, will they change some of the mob-names? etc. etc. Or did i just not search enough on the forums to find the information i'm really interested in?

Silence from ND or any other Rocktropia representatives is really deafening.
