Hi all...
I am not kidding... I do something wrong, but I don't know what. I did some mining before VU 10, which was ok most of the time. After VU 10 I didn't much... but now I really struggle, if I try to find anything.

Today I dropped 50 bombs and found 3 claims. I mined in different areas, I used two different finders.

So this topic is not to discuss what I might do wrong. I really want to pay someone's time to meet me in game, check with my my skills (around 20 only), my gear (OF 105 and Tk120(L)), no bombs. I look for someone who has enough knowldge to teach me how to make regular mining runs with 80-90% return.

I will be avilable today a lot, also reachable via skype and XFire (smoerble).

Payment:
If you are an experienced miner, you will be able to teach me what I do wrong and increase my return during that session. I don't expect to profit though. This means: if I have the same bad returns (25%+ losses), I will not pay. If my teacher can't guarantee this, then it's not worth to have a lesson at all.

The amounts of PEDs will be discussed in game if we meet, not here.

Mate, im not an uber miner, but rarelly i have results under 50% TT... Most often i have nearly 80% ( you can check my blog here ).
I would like to help you somehow, if you can show me how you are mining ( we can arrange this ingame ).Of course, free of charge :)
 
I can tell you a trick or two on how mining works today in skype when you are online.
 
smoerble are you online now if you are come to twin peaks so i can add you to FL you know the tagging service.

Equip finder, while carrying bombs or probes in inventory. Drop bomb or probe.

"No resources found" -> run a bit then try again.
"Beep beep" -> drop again. Don't forget to pull up the claim!

I'd add some on top of this :
- map the keys for mining
- avoid ugly mobs

and that'll be 1k ped more than VF. well, your choice which one you'd prefer.

Avoid mountains and water. Try south of zeus, it always work for me.
 
Hm... received some PMs, maybe minig has changed more than I thought?

I am used to find 3-5 claims with 10-15 bombs. II and higher with my OF-105. Is that still the case?

It may be that:

  1. you happen to have hit a tricky time to start mining again. My hit rate and average level of return has been very low the last 72 hours - only saved by a global & a hof in two at the very end of my last run;
  2. if there is a difference between v10 and pre-v10, it may be that rich mining resources are enclosed in much tighter clusters than before. Seems that there are very big areas where you can bomb without getting anything. So, if you don't know where the clusters are you have problems - I'll PM you a small area where you might be successful.

Here's my trick: buy OA-103, buy 56 bombs, go to some far away place... Drop a bomb, get in car, run a few seconds , drop another bomb...

... and wish for the best!

This guy theory does work for me too most of the times (not that i`m that hardcore miner) but since EU is dynamic...you have to be verry dynimic too lol...randomizing your runs migh be the trick.

Randomizing runs, no no. Averaging runs, yes yes

Something like this does wonders for evening out your hit/miss curve.
 
Haha nice post about Fibonacci, I'll actually try to work that into my mining strategy somehow, although I'm a horrible miner. I find fibonacci sequence fits into about everything if you apply it correctly. Btw I'll take whatever tips and tricks your giving OP if anyone is still kind enough to offer :)

Fib is nice to use.... OH and don't get me started about the 3 numbers in a mining tool... Quadratic equation anyone ?

This is something that I am working on in order to see how "fair" a certain mining tool would be in generating loot. Download it if it is of any use. If my assumption is correct and a set tool produces a 100% hit rate and another tool produces less, I simply trace back the seeds that are not responding to being bombed on and produce a curve to exclude from that mining tool in order to give me a better overall hit rate.

Again if this is correct, it should correspond to the tools 3 digit quadratic "code"

That makes you linear?

Though i think the OP was asking for help in making his mining returns consistant, not confusing with theories which May or May not work

I have the same goals in mind and have posted blogs on how I would code a system like this mathematically. Read the source website and see if it's concept would fit EU.

Thanks a lot for your PM. I received a lot hints via PM, that was very nice. I made a one hour session with someone and that turned the page hopefully. I will now check, if my loot is better all the time or if my unamped 1k find was an accident (just kidding ;)). However:

I am around level 20, never did serious mining and didn't use amps until now. I don't know where to mine what except for the well kown resources in this forum.

My question is, what you think you can improve? Especially: do you think you can give me trackable input... meaning: do you can teach me something that will increase my return immediately and long term?

In other words: loot theories are not my interest, I need hands-on-hints what to do and not to do, and I am not sure, if there is something like that what a miner can share at all?

Thank you SO MUCH! I didn't expect any serious help for free, but you helped more than I epxerienced it in the past years while beeing in game... amazing, thanks a lot!

Here's an update for all of you.
It turned out that I dropped the bombs too often... impatient as I am... stupid me. Several people mentioned this and one person took the time to watch me running... made some hints, improved my method and voila: return of 80%+.

I received from another person an idea where to mine what (also unexpected for free), just as "an idea" and the return was so-so... until I found a 970+ Belk HOF. So this is where my losses from the past runs went...

As you know, i am not playing daily and not mining everytime I play. So from time to time I check a new location to see, if my loot is still higher than before and it seems to be better. Will come back to you all when I feel that I need some more help.


About the offers for helping:
Thanks a lot, and I highly appreciate that not one person was asking stupid high prices (this was also unexpected :)). In April it's very likley that I will contact each of you again to meet for a 30 minute session.

Have fun until then and I wish each of the helpers a BIG HOF! You all deserve it, thanks a lot!

im very proish! i even got 100%profit spots to bomb!

If it doesnt work for you i wont blame the dynamics.... promisse :cool:
