attention decoders!

well i was thinking that solving the binary message
would help to solve the latest messages, but who knows

...
When it comes to variable length, there can be two definitions; one is that the length of characters vary dynamically, according to some algorithm. The second is simply that a character always have the same length (but different characters have different lengths).

For instance (dunno if this is right), but a guess is
d=100000
e = 000
i=101
n = 01100
0=10010
r = 01111 (or 101, but maybe unlikely)

If that's on the right path, I guess it's some guesswork first...

As I said in my previous post
[UNIT RX 471]char.frequency->charcode.bitlength

so what frequency did he mean? :scratch2:
like "e" would occur 3 times in some text -> e = 000
and "d" is in it 6 times so d = 100000 :confused:

I'm trying hard to break the codes and found that the following line repeats itself in 2 of the messages...

01001001001000000011001011110100001001001001001001000110110010

Currently I'm trying out some common words in the previously decoded messages to see if any of them fit, but it's hard due to the variable bitlength...

This Binary makes no sense :D

Nope everything is correct.

Shift the first sequence 12 steps right and you'll see it.

Finally (phew)

report code protocol four activated
migrate to code protocol five
end of line

I don't feel any safer though. :(

blah looks like thers no fancy decoding algortihm behind those messages :mad:

Grand applause from FPC for cracking the code! :clap: Very impressive!

Yes, well done, Aia.

Sorry I wasn't much help to anyone on this one. I guess I'm just a bit frustrated over the way this entire event has gone. There are more skills in the game than just skill points, and I think decoding one of these codes demonstrates that. Rewarding uber players with a bajillion peds worth of gear is understandable, since they have put in the time. But they aren't the only ones in the game. Other people would like to participate in events in one way or another.
Decoding a code like this isn't exactly a simple task. But after having spent many, many hours on previous codes only to watch some uber snap up the prize in the end gets frustrating after a while.

oh, and now that it's solved, I'd like to venture a guess as to how it's done:
Convert to binary, order the letters of the key according to frequency of the english language, and number them off in binary with the more frequent letters getting the lower bit length. That's my guess.
But if this is the case, wouldn't it yield ambiguous solutions?

not if its turreted @_@

I suspect after last night, hydra will learn how to run faster than vehicles

most likely, it has evolved as seen with the second one. The third one probably now has range attack with run speed beyond cars and may be even one hit kill to cars. Previously hummer were able to take a few good punchs until they go down.

hydra already has ranged laser weapons, we found that out on the 2nd hydra, but it seemed to be fairly short ranged. perhaps that will change?

Hanne on a Saturday!
will she be there to personally deactivate the turrets or can the whole area be pvp for the rest of the event ;)
oh what fun ..........

it "looked" range, and may be it is really range, but its far too short to classify it as range tbh =/

PvP would be fun. But... if you've got the firepower to kill me in PVP then you most certainly would have had the firepower to pull Hydra away from being turreted. So ya better watch what you wish for. ;)

Regardless.... we have no intentions of trying to turret Hydra because we KNOW that the community is going to come together and set their greed and "why should I spend PEDs so someone else can get the prize" attitude aside, and there will be 100+ people taking Hydra down this time. And 88+ people gratzing the team that get's the hopefully uber loot! :wtg:

Here's quote.
EBN News: Intelligence work was thrown into disarray as the robots deployed a new encryption protocol. Thanks to intelligent code breakers, the new code was cracked and we now know that the robots will deploy their new Hydra robot at least twice.

However, CDF Intelligence Service is worried about that not all of the coded transmissions have been decoded.

“At least one coded transmission is still not decrypted” an analyst says. “Who knows what it contains? It can be a change of time, change of location, or even that the whole trial has been suspended because someone spilled coffee in the next Hydra unit.”

The undecrypted transmission was sent on Friday at around 14:45 UTC, and contained the following codes:
