My my. Interesting what happens after I go to sleep.
Safara made the right call on closing this thread, for a few reasons, let alone rule 2.14 - Administrator/Moderator Criticism. However, with moderator's privilege, I will respond in hopes of clarifying a few things.
Mary's buying thread was done back in early May.
His sales thread came June 3, a month later, after a lot of "issues" came about for him.
As moderator, I've been ignoring rule 3.8 - Quitting/Leaving, otherwise, I'd have adjusted the title of his sales thread. (Not sure if this would have altered things or not, tbh. Simply giving facts.) He has made many comments about how he is intending to sell out. Technically I should've modded these and privately reminded Mary of the rules (something I do often). However, like posts from other players, I let him state he was "Selling out", even in a thread title.
And then to see a buying thread bumped after a month upset me personally as well as on a moderator level.
I admit, I did not see in his sales thread where he said:
Just 4 parts together and i still looking for the other parts...
However, personally I fail to see if you are selling out "for personal reasons" you would not simply sell those 4 pieces to allow someone else to complete their own set.
Quite frankly, when I saw the bumped buying thread, I felt Mary had zero intention of selling out, and was simply using the old "Selling out! Buy quick!" routine. Those who have enjoyed New Years at Times Square in New York City know how some businesses heavily advertise fake "going out of business" sales, only to find those businesses still open later. New York actually had to make a law forbidding those fake "going out of business" sales.
If Mary's true intention is to sell out all his stuff and leave the game as he said, then I owe him an apology. If however,
The public comment on his buying thread, as well as the -rep I gave him, reflected my personal feelings of yet another lie he's given the community. Yes, I mentioned the "quitting" rule, and should not have done that, as it blurs the moderator/personal opinions.
As a volunteer moderator who is simply a player of this game, instead of an employee, I feel comfortable (and have been told I'm allowed) to express my personal opinions. However, I am aware of my position as mod and try to make sure when it's a personal opinion I post, folks understand I am not speaking in any "official" capacity.
However, in this case, I could have done a better job of making it clear I was speaking personally, and not as a moderator. that was my fault. I'll try to be clearer next time.
Mary Jane also seems to have failed to remember when I have also (quite recently actually) modded in his favor (in the selling thread ironically).
Funny how no one complains about my abusing my power when I +rep them.
However, valid or not, this was a criticism of my moderating and I've allowed a location for just this issue.
I will merge this thread into the appropriate location.

Done. However, I will be modding out certain issues I find, such as flaming/insulting. Even here, please try to be civil.
